Phrasing like this is something not seen every day, as a musician I strive constantly for such cleanliness of thought. Pleasant throughout, though the recording isn't extremely warm or assistant to performance. Yup, I like my Scarlatti heated, and Mr. Zanon surely does that. Very cool indeed.

It is an Abreu guitar, he didn't play on Perry until the year 1999.

@MrMakemon Probably, a "Sérgio Abreu". Fábio has recorded an entire album with songs from Scarlatti with a Sérgio Abreu's guitar.

It's a guitar by the Canadian luthier Daryl Perry. Zanon used to play on a Perry spruce & Indian rosewood, but now on one with Brazilian back & sides.

I had the pleasure of meeting this great man for a lesson in the Uk and not only is he breath taking as a player but a true gentlman and first class teacher. His musicianship is stunning.

The sound is too metallic for my taste. I figure it out that maestro Zanon uses artificiall nails.

I'm sure it's partly the recording. I stopped using artificial nails because I couldn't get a bright enough sound.

A part where trills on the 10th flat connecting to the next notes is somewhat tough for me...

This is one of my favorite Scarlatti sonata.
