Can i get some mumbled agreement here?

  • I heard toasters toasted toast. Was I lied to?

  • @perfectchaoslemon hotel mario lies like that.

  • @StevenAteYourDogs I kind figured that four-camels-a-day smoker type sounding fatass plumber would lie like that.

  • he's a troll people should just ignore him

  • How very open-minded of you ;)

  • @iHATEyou722 its labelled because there are obvious differences in music style, duh

  • @iHATEyou722 i hate you, haha just kidding

  • nichts geht über traditional ska & two tone

  • SKA Ponad Wszystko !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Suenan del putasss !!

    2 tone !

  • this is real ska, amongthetall, not polka or shitty music, you obviously don't know what good music is you fuckin retarded

  • Real ska my ass. Go learn your genres and come back and still try and tell us this is real ska.

  • i know my genres and this is ska, all Toasters is ska. Sayin this isn't ska is like sayin that Skavoovie and the Epitones, The Scofflaws, The Specials, Mephiskapheles and The Skatalites aren't ska. Maybe YOU should learn YOUR genres.

  • Ska punk is a sub genre silly. This band is like 20 years to late.

    Real ska would be

    Laurel Aitken

    Justin Hinds

    Derrick Morgan

    Baba Brooks

    Etc

Now shh please cause i think i do know my genres.

  • actually, the toasters have been playing since 1983. and they like referring to themselves as twotone

  • yes, let's be sticklers about labeling a sound wave. good job.

  • im not a stickler for a tickler lol

  • take it up with their record label, no one here cares what you think

  • no, I mean no one gives two shits what an asshole troll has to say

  • I know you're actually right, but that still doesn't change the fact that you're a complete tool. Arguing about ska vs. ska-punk is worse than trying to tell a scene kid that Dashboard Confessional isn't emo and burning them a Dischord Records mixtape...

  • Retard? Where do you think Ska was born from? Regional Ethnic Music that's where...such as Polka. And "Good" music is objective and based on perceived opinion and not in general fact. This song in particular is quite amateurish... and very generic, when compared to the genre as a whole.Instead of focusing on "Genres'" though, you should read some history and learn some tact.

  • Jamaica, akshully.

  • @amongthetall uhh i think you mean "good" music is subjective, not objective...

  • Ska??....it's just polka music, with very bad lyric's...better band's have played Motel 6, of this i am sure....at least they could learn to play their instrument's...arrghh. So bad....

  • I know a ska band youll like its called the fuck you polka dancing pimply ass fagola!!try it up your ass youll skaaalove it...

  • Your maturity outshines your mastery of the English language...that,or your boredom.

  • i wish they would come back to grand rapids. cuz last time i was a fucking retard and didnt go.

  • haha. so this and the specials were like the beginning of ska. awesome. i still like 3rd wave ska better though

  • haha ignorance

  • why? sure 1st wave is cool... but 3rd wave in my opinion is better.

  • really for me its the other way around i like the steady flowing tempo

  • Nice. Cheers to the subculture. We're a dying breed, we are.

  • not in riverside. :p

  • haha so cal in general =] SKA IN THE PARK!

  • I KNOW i cant wait its right down the street from my house!!

  • The band Skadee is doing some good shit.

    From Albany, NY.

    Peace.love.music.

  • they are a Ska legend :P....go toasters

  • wuhuu!

    Ska, Ska, Ska!

    I love it!

  • old school ska :) nice 5*

  • Ska punk is a sub genre though. So technically it is not a wave. Toasters pwn btw.

  • It was MTV's rules. If you want to air it, bleep it. I shot and edited this video in a warehouse in Long Branch NJ

  • The Toasters are my favorite ska band.

As for waves, I care what wave it is. Ska has changed so much since its beginning, you can't keep it all in one category.

  • BUENISIMO

  • SKA!!

  • what's wrong with the vid??

  • Who cares what "wave" it is?

  • Exactly, it's all ska, it's all great, just stop arguing over which wave it is, get up and skank!

  • anyone who posts their opinion on 3rd wave being a legitimate competitor to 2tone is out of their fuckin' mind. ska is not what it used to be. 2tone revival bands are the best we have nowadays. bosstones are probably the exception.

  • I like what Ska is becoming with Streetlight paving the way.

Bringing gypsy, eastern-european, jazz and tons of other different sounds into a already diverse/unique genre is great, and keeps Ska fresh.

I love Ska, but still can't stand Less Than Jake...maybe because they are just "teen movie" music...beats me.

If anyone speaks Spanish/likes the way it sounds, check out Skalariak from Spain.

  • i wouldnt say theres a fourth wave happening just yet. there just arent as many good ska bands out there as there used to be to constitute a whole other wave.

  • get a life ska is frealkin' awesome!!!

  • is there really a fourth wave? Or is it just a toned downed sad side of ska cuz thats not fourth wave

  • Personally i would just consider that ska punk but there we go

  • Wha??? These guys have been around since '81. They consider themselves part of he 3rd wave... But their sound is closer to the 2nd. Punk... Hardly.

  • I already know streetlight manifesto, that's why i asked because i wasn't sure if they what they were, but i knew they couldn't be third wave.

  • is there a 4th wave yet?

sorry im new to this ska stuff

  • yeah theres a 4th wave on the rise, but personally i dont really like it so far, its kinda sad and alternativey-sounding, look up Streetlight Manifesto

oh and sublime isnt really even ska nor punk, they were most like reggae and they were FAR too popular for any ska or punk

  • Just because a band is popular doesn't disqualify them to be a Ska Band.

  • streetlight's not fourth wave, they're just a unique sound. just cuz it's different from all the other waves doesn't mean it's the start of a whole new wave

  • ive heard that streetlight is inspiring alot of new ska bands like them out in california, so they might be 4th wave. no doubt might help the new wave

vorhiez, not nessarily, but the popularity slowly changes the feel of the band and really takes away from the feel of ska

  • Streetlight does have a song called Riding the 4th Wave, haha...

    or was that Catch22?

maybe it was on the album Kalnoky made twice...

  • they both do

    on keasby nights

  • Sublime is considered 3rd wave ska or "punk ska"

  • Damn cool he said Heidelberg ;)

    I'm from there ...

But the song is also very cool :P

  • I dont think sublime is ska but they may have influence

  • some songs do not sound that much like ska but they do have songs that do

  • a little food for thought, who considers Sublime to be ska, just voice your opinion by replying to my comment

  • first off, i would like to say that sublime is one of my top 4 favorite bands, in no order

but i would say that yes, they have ska songs such as superstar punani and seed, but i wouldnt consider them as a ska band. they dont really have a genre its a mix of ska reggae punk hip hop and dub

  • they are usually in my opinion a dub band, but have been known ot shove very heavy ska influence in many of there songs (date rape comes to mind)

  • Viva los Toasters! I'll be seeing them in St. Petersburg, FL in a few days! Amazing!

  • I filmed and edited this video. Great to see it!

  • Hey there! What's your name? Shall we add your name as the director?

    sunset

    BlankTV

  • The "official" director was Drew Sentivan who worked for Moon Records. My name is Chuck Fishbein and I was the DP/Editor/ who kinda helped the director.

  • Very cool. Added the info in the description box, to the right. You have to scroll down a little to see it. :)

  • Thanks man!

  • I hear I wasn't going to College anyway lol

  • ska ska ska mierda!!!!!!!!

  • i also like ska, any recommendations, other ska bands?

  • hub city stompers are really good

  • Mark Foggo's Skasters

  • pama international, the slackers, the skeletones sublime, voodoo glow skulls, those are some of my favourites

  • Hepcat, The Slackers, Prince Buster, Skatalites, Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra

  • Boss Tones

  • the specials

  • Streetlight manifesto, Goldfinger, Edna's Goldfish, Catch 22, Big D and the kids table

thanks for the above recommendations indeed lol

  • I really second Hub city stompers, but also try inspector 7 which has the same singer. Also if you like pop try Lo and The Magnetics, they're really pop-ska but not in a stupid faux-hawk, pop punk way, like fifties pop, then also the Aquabats, Dissenters, Specials, Madness, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Streetlight Manifesto (I call them fourth wave because they don't really abide by any ska rules and have a sound all their own) Oh and if you like punk, Operation Ivy.

  • Streetlight Manifesto

  • Chickenpox, Selecter, Agent 99, Mad Caddies, Liberator, Undercover S.K.A., Mustard Plug, Five Iron Frenzy, Dance Hall Crashers and don't worry about any "4th Wave" never be such a thing and I looked at your page so shouldn't be any duplicates but if you have already heard some of these, whatever.

  • Ska SKA SKAAAAA

  • Rudy!

  • Everybody skaaa!!!!

Who wants to get it on the with grubermiester!?

  • LOL

  • i saw them so many times, in different cities, but each time was superb. great great energy

  • they were great on groezrock

  • Indeed they were, it was awesome.

  • queremos a the toasters en colombia...

    la mejor banda two tone!

    Rude boy alpha !

  • The Toasters aren´t really two tone. They started the 3rd wave

  • The toasters es la banda (ska) con mas trayectoria en los EE.UU y aunque es de la tercera ola, no deja de ser influencia por la two tone debido a su antiguedad. "Yo creo q ah eso se referia snakeupc".

  • ehh they are riding on a thin line between the two tone and 3rd wave.

  • This is some of their later stuff. Surely that makes sense?

  • Thats Lolsome!!!!

  • one of the best songs ever

  • SKA SKA SKA !!! tendria k salir una generacion komo la de the toasters pronto,o eso espero.
