Odd you didn't go for the dynohub. I have one and am about to build a USB charger to run off it to keep my gadgets happy on long rides. I can also mount four panniers as I got the normal rack and the lowrider.
You need two additional items. One is called a Speedbone that locks the Rohloff hub to the frame. Will also need a chain tensioner to take up the slack in the chain. If you want more info, send me an email and I can send photos--just go to the website.
I don't understand the reasoning for using the Scorpion rack over the stock offering as the Scorpion appears to hold the weight at a higher point, making for a higher center of gravity. Am I incorrect?
Interesting film which gave some ideas for the future. Would be nice to see some films from the cycling. Myself, I mostly cycled in Northern Europe but it would be exciting to bring my recumbent to Southeast Asia for a few trips there.
Very impressive description on a modified Grasshopper fx. Weight 30kg each is very heavy! Look forward to your GPS data. Have a safe and enjoyable recumbent trip in Borneo.

Absolutely correct. But I had a choice of no rack or modify this Scorpion rack. So I modified the Scorpion Rack.
