TOBY! Your problem isn't Vista, it's Dell. I've had mine (Toshiba) for years, and I've never Bluescreened once. Well, two weeks ago I uprgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate, but, before that, NO BLUESCREEN at all.

Wow...that is wild about Dell. The same shit happened to me. I bought a laptop and it would just randomly shut off (not like the battery die, but the screen). I called a billion times, they did nothing to help besides say I need to get it repaired. (..seriously Dell?) Anyway, they sent me a new one.

I now have two identical laptops. What's even more awesome? The original one stopped messing up on me.

I've been using it for months now, and even in its beta stages it was leap years ahead of Vista. Sleakness of Vista, stability of XP. Win/Win. Dell just announced their new M6500 model which supports up to 16GB of ram, raid support, and quad core processors. I know what I want for Christmas now! :)
