@MrHotrod68 I have a few tricks, try painting with toothpicks and pins, but , what i uasually do is go into a dollar store and but the smallest brush i can find, and than cut it with a hobby knife so that it really fine and small. and then i use a trick i learned from Games workshop, place the model in your hands and put you wrists togeather, on hand on the model and one on the brush and place your elbows on a table, this does work, it stops your body from fidgiting, adn allows you to see close.
@MrHotrod68 for painting glass I use a method that basicmodeling showed me (check out his channel) I uasually leave the glass on the sprue, or i mount it under some plasticine with a tooth pick to hold it, then i use the wrist and elbow method i explained earlier, after it dries take a tooth pick and rub away the excess paint to create crisp clean lines, but for more tips seriously go to basicmoleding, he's got loads of tips and tricks for every kind of models, its a great channel.
It's too late now for the annual competition, but as my next competition will be a 'How I build my models' type competition, you will be qualified to enter that one.. :)
well first off this newer version is better then the older version that i built. second the reason those actual photos in your instruction sheet aren't in color is because it saves money for both the manufacturer and ourselves, great work!
@bzzymatt No i wished taht they were in color so it could be painted properly, i know that why they were black and white. by newer do you mean the P-51 b,c.
@rebelsatcloudnine Sounds good.. at the moment I'm having great fun building a 1/48 Hasegawa P-39 N.. so much so I'm considering building a 1/48 scale Hurricane next.. :) Then again I'm due another tank build already.. :) Tough decisions has to be made..
Beautiful P-51, i own 5 of these XD, my latest is going good, my second latest a re made of my Ace Of Spades P-51 is ok, defenetly better than my first though, i will be presenting mine soon.
It's the 'old' Monogram Mustang.. I have built one, and have another one to do, it's a very nice kit!! And you did a great job of it too.. Mine will most likely be a J26 Mustang of the Swedish Air Force... or a P-51 that flew from Wormingford, an old WWII USAAF base about 6 miles from where I live! :)
@BasicModelling I really like this kitI've built several of them, I also built the Revell P-51 B which was brand new and still found this old "D" version to be better.
@C2dltCAP It the theme to the movie "Midway" I'm building and Fokker Dr1 out of paper right now, and i'm epicly failing at it, I think i'll stick to plastic, leave the paper models to the pros :)
Best model I have ever seen you are quite the model builder and painter. You should see the movie RED TAILS.
