i shed a tear for the terrorists who become victims because we are evil for waterboarding. See this... yeah... it's the world's tiniest tear. Let me shed some more tears for terrorists... yeah, not gonna happen
Torture doesn't work as far as attaining information. ("Authorities" have known THAT for centuries!) HOWEVER, it DOES work as far as TERRORIZING the populace with the FEAR of being tortured for misdemeanors under fascism in the future!
Also, a side benefit of torturing people is that it brings horrible mentally ill sadistic people like Dick Cheney to orgasm.
(Burning ants with a magnifying glass no longer cuts it for him.)
@BUDx2 It matters a lot. Especially since a recent bill allows people who are accused of terrorism (without a trial, US citizen or not) to be held for an indefinite amount of time.
Hannity's such a fucking pussy ass narcissistic dumbshit little ignorant retarded fucking piece of shit
Someone vacuum the sand out of the Kochsucker's vagina, so he'll shut his whiny fucking cube blockhead the hell up; fucking Koch-brothers' ball-sucking delusional psychotic lunatic with imaginary sky friends...
Keith olberman is such a scummy idiot, he instead of letting hannity do it for charity, tries to corrupt it with money then accuses Hannity of being corrupt. I'm happy that sack of panzy crap is off the air.
Yah . i watched madow yesterday and it was so funny .. you were right !! the clip she played, as usual ! lol .. was edited different from the live footage we saw .. oh well .
yah .. LOL i know .. they have to be young ... i bet , 20 or so .. most of them are. . I mean the person thinks maddow has substance .. but thats not the point LOL ..
Those are questions you need to answer to prove your point...I have never heard a single number figured on any of your questions. It would be like me asking you...how many red neck hillbillies/cousin lovers vote republican.
...which party invented "trickle down economics" (hint: aka Reaganeconomics)?...which party thinks victims of rape should not be given the option of an abortion?...which party thinks cutting minimum wage will help our economy?...which party thinks the best way to balance the budget is to cut taxes for millionaires and billionaires?----guy, I can go all night on your party's limitless levels of stupidity. Tell me, what have the Republicans offered-up to help this country in its worst recession?
@caseycollison... you must remember something, or maybe even learn from simple logic. Those that are rich were not always rich. They WORKED and BUILT their empires with the mind of an entrepreneur and a positive work ethic. The problem with America today is too many entitlements! The less taxation on the rich, the more job creation. You tax the rich, no wonder they go overseas. Government taxes our revenue too much and returns far less.
@Merc9093 Fuck, not everyone has the same starting position in life.
You clearly don't get the estate and "entitlement" problem the top 1%-percentile are suffocated in, lying on money that is never used and accumulates as stale liquid assets to individuals and corporations who never put it back into the economy. Research the Eisenhower-era and the golden prosperity proper taxing of the rich elicits, and proper "dead person" estate taxing, so kids don't become "Paris Hilton's" doing FUCK ALL.
@TAz69x I never was rich. We bought second hand clothes coming up. I got my job and worked hard, paid my own insurance and car note. I went to school studied and applied myself, graduated with an Associates in Business and a minor in Communications. Ive just finished NDT schooling and I have a job lined up making $97,000 a year... Isn't that the "American Dream." I wasn't born rich, but I sure as hell am not gonna wait for it to fall outta the sky. I applied and I attained, therefore I gain.
@Merc9093 You're lucky; I have a neurological CNS condition at 25; Duragesic patches and morphine sulfate cost me $3500/mnth just for the meds themselves
I can't work physical jobs, though luckily I've taught myself tech-jobs
A lot of ppl I know (a lot from the hospital) don't even have THAT option, nor my medical plan which would have made me bankrupt in the US
@Merc9093 Instead of applying simple logic, you should have stuck with simple history, and it shows that the percentage of people who got wealthy did not do it through hard work themselves but on backs of others. This country's history is fill with oppression and this is why you have things like the labor unions, the minimum wage, child labor laws anti-slavery laws, migrant and seasonal workers protection laws etc.
@caseycollison "cutting minimum wage will help our economy" proven true by economics. more revenue for hire, more jobs, then more tax revenue. Go learn macroeconomics... you can find that at any 4 year university.
@Merc9093 You must have failed it then because while cutting the minimum wage may indeed create more jobs, it will destroy the living wage. That's the amount of money a person needs to live without starvation. Subsequently, by cutting the minimum wage you overburden every other industry that must support it. That means the fast food industry will die, the entertainment industry will follow, until total economic collapse. I suggest before you tout macro-economics, you actually learn it.
@Ryooken You are not too smart... if the minimum wage is raised, the price of products will follow. Look into the every time it was raised and tell me if price of goods and services doesn't follow. Do you not know of the supply-demand curve analyst? Suggest you learn. That is one of the basis of how speculators judge their monetary future.
@Merc9093 LOL! You're not serious? You can't be. The cost of products go up all the time and that's with or without a minimum wage increase. The minimum wage didn't go up for over 10 years and the price of goods went up significantly. If you are going to make correlations you had best be able to rule out other factors that cause the same results.
@Ryooken As a company owner, if i have to pay my workers more, where do i put that expense.... on my products for the customer to buy. Where is common sense these days? I wish I could buy it for you wholesale.
@Ryooken As a testimony, I come from a poor family. My father was injured on the job and Workman's Compensation hardly pays. To this day he is facing hospital bills from having surgery from incited injuries by his initial accident. We got our clothes from a second hand store. I had good grades and studied hard. Graduated from LSU with a associates in Business and minored in Communications. I now am completing my NDT schooling and will be working for $97,000 a year. Thats the American Dream!
@Merc9093 Well that's very nice and all but what does that have to do with the exploitation in this country? I come from a middle class family right after segregation, and I am now making almost 80,000 per year. What does any of this have to do with lowering the minimum wage beyond the cost of living?
@Ryooken Sry. This is an argument against your support of higher taxes on the rich and how the poor cannot excel. Guess I'm just an over achiever, too bad there are enough in your world.
@Merc9093 Correction you are allowed to be an over achiever. There is the difference. As you should know that experience isn't universal and that people in this country have been prevented from achieving while others are allowed to do so. I could give you a laundry list of this but it would take too long and I am sure you really aren't interested as it destroys your theories.
@Ryooken LOL! If I apply myself and work hard at achieving something, few things can stop me. Everyone has the ability to arise except for maybe those who are in bottomless debt through poor monetary principles such as lack of budgeting and misplaced priorities. I ask you, what would OR would not allow me to be an overachiever, answer that? Considering you are finding a quick exit, I believe you find the base of your argument has been ripped from under you. Give me that laundry list. Hahahahaaa!
@Merc9093 Really how about those migrants? If they work hard? How about the entrepenuers that had to fight for their inventions because companies stole them. Look up most of the black inventions and see what happened to most of the inventors. I will tell you what go to any city in the USA darken your skin then see where your education gets you. No, I didn't drop the total laundry list on you because quite simply, it's a waste of time.
@Ryooken So its not a matter of argument about economical status, but of the color of your skin?? How many prominent African Americans have made names for themselves? Please hoop off your pity train from the 60s, its 2011.
@Merc9093 Not the point. How does that change the persecution in this country? How many black people have been targeted because of their color and lost most if not all of their wealth? How many blacks have had their freedom taken without cause because of their prominant roles? Take those blinders off and wake up and smell what you have been shoveling.
@Ryooken In prison, I am sure they is every race of people locked up that committed crimes. Sorry but no can do. You are ignorant enough to play a racist card shows how cheap you really are. Okay, I'm half Cherokee and no other group suffered worse or deserves the most. America was our land. But you wont find this Caucasian / American Indian using that crutch. Get out of your childish pity party and MAN UP!
@Ryooken By the way, I never got that laundry list. To add insult to injury, tell me of a black man of recent history (2000-present) that "had their freedom taken without cause because of their prominent roles."
@Merc9093 LOL! This is precisely why I said that you really aren't interested in that laundry list. You are not interested in understanding the basic problem. You equate success to finanicial gains. While money is nice and somewhat necessary for survival, it's not the measure of success. I used prominant people because of their race who have lost their financial acuity to show you that without equality money means nothing. As I thought it fell on def ears.
@Ryooken You are a poor businessman. Success is measured by your assets and financial status. When you sell a business, it is valued by properties, client database, and the demand of your business. Maybe you should see Herman Cain, an African American, who became very successful... and rich I'm sure. 4 words, Successful companies are prosperous. What is the definition of success in a business?
@padude64 ...well right wing rich people are crooked...the others are the lap dogs of the rich. This whole bit where the 2% are facing a 3% increase in their income taxes, I have never seen so many toothless people screaming for the richies' welfare.
It's funny how you think anyone who doesn't support unfair taxation is a toothless hillbilly or an evil rich guy. Fairness isn't taxing one portion of the population more than another, it's taxing people the same across the board.
@tedatlas Those are the two groups where it makes sense that they say what they say. Rich people are of course going to be against paying more taxes, and poorer uneducated people are easy to manipulate and much of our wealthiest channel a lot of money towards manipulating the truth...
@Robohump ...really, based on what polls and/or studies? Let's play Finish My Arguement: a southern hick who hates African Americans just because they are not white (Republican? or Democrat?), a man who beats a gay person to death (Republican? or Democrat?), a group who screams "gays go to hell" at a soldier's funeral (Republican? or Democrat?), a man who threatens to burn the Koran (Republican? or Democrat?).....it's very easy to see where the true ignorance rests on the right or left side.
@caseycollison The poor (and uneducated) overwhelmingly vote Democratic. This is common sense and has been the case since the 1930's and FDR's "new deal". The Democrats pander to the poor and uneducated. They win landslide victories in inner-city black ghettos where the income average is next to zero and the education level is virtually non-existant. How many black gang bangers voted Obama? How many poor highschool dropouts voted Obama? How many ignorant welfare frauds voted Obama?
@Robohump I'd say very low, approaching zero. After all, since when have criminals and delinquents had high voter turn out rates? Those kinds of people don't vote Democrat, they don't vote at all. And your facts are also messed up, as education and liberal tendencies are correlated. Where do you think the Ivy League Liberal Elitist idea came from? It wasn't from high school dropouts, I'll tell you that.
@RyoWolf The lower the average income, the higher the probability that a voter will vote for the Democrats. This is a proven fact and it's been the case for over 40 years now. Obama won among the lowest income groups (who also have the lowest education). Obama swept the ghettos, which have very low income and very low education. These are just facts.
@Robohump ...what source are you getting your information from? I don't know how you can compare the parties and their view points and then think this...your party has people believing death panels, President is a Muslim, tax cuts are fiscally consevative agendas--absolute ignorance. You can poke and prod at a few followers, but look at you party's leaders; if the foundation is crap, most likely the rest of the structure ain't worth a nickel.
@Robohump ...who do you support out of the Republican party? How can you support a group so unwilling to help in fixing our crap economy (count their filibusters)? How can you support a group who only want to take care of millionaires, no matter how devistating it is to our budget?--what policies do you support out of the party? They want to use the same things that got us into this mess to get us out??? Does that make any sense? Show some spine, and tell everyone why you follow ignorance...
@caseycollison ...you should watch C-SPAN and what went on recently. Republican bitch about the Dems not budging, but when the Dems budge and move the tax cuts to cover everyone making less than a million dollars, the Republicans say no. What is a compromise in you definition, and how are they following their end in the process? Sorry for all the question, but they are questions someone needs to answer...and if you can't, then what the hell are you supporting?
@caseycollison Thats BS. there are idiots on both sides. a union member who beats a protestor (Democrat), what about when Republican senator Kyle McCarter is punched in the chest by a (Democrat) senator in the House of Rep. Shall I pull up more? I went to school with 95% black population, some of my greatest friends are black. Stereotyping is for those who feel insecure and must put themselves over others to feel worth something. They are weak individuals.
@caseycollison The 'poorer uneducated' had a choice to remain so. Had they applied themselves in school they would have a better life and the ability to pursue the American Dream. People have the right to remain ignorant. If Ignorance is accepted then soon ignorance will lead by majority. Entitlements feed the some and those 'some' take advantage of it and never strive to better themselves so they can outgrow their need of the handout.
@tedatlas As for what you said about unfair taxes...where is it so unfair? If you try to gather that same amount of wealth from lower classes...first, they wouldn't be able to afford Top Ramer, and second the amount of money wouldn't equal what is needed to run this country. Look, every group sacrifices a lot for this country...which groups normally see their children off to war? Which groups normally have to work 50-60 hours a week to see their children stay fed and clothed?
@caseycollison ...those tax cuts were made by a very fiscally irresponsible President...a trillion dollars of unpaid for tax cuts? That is a freaking joke, just so a lot of rich people who were not struggling got a 100K paycheck that obviously didn't do a single thing for this country in the way of long term economic growth....not to mention most don't even pay the 36%, because of loopholes in the tax system. Are you against loopholes being closed like the dividend tax? Or ending the death tax?
So, did Hannity ever actually go ahead and do this or did he chicken out? I haven't heard anything about it so I'm guessing he chickened out. What a lying conservative scumbag. He's such a pussy but likes to talk big.
I'll give $1,000 to charity for every conservative guest Olbermann debates and has on his show. Staring now. The only time there are conservative guests on his show is when Lawrence O'Donnell fills in.
@GovernmentSham912 : There's a simple reason why you don't see Keith have any "conservative" guests on his show ... they won't come on. They know that Keith will tear their dribble to shreds with real facts and they would look like the true fools that they are. I'll be the first to admit that Keith goes over the line at times, IE: Scott Brown, but he is man enough to admit when he's wrong. Ever see Hannity, Billo, Beck, or Palin admit they were wrong about anything? Me neither.
That's a good explanation. However, I find that hard to believe that conservative guests "won't come on" because there afraid of looking like fools. I think that because I've never heard him say he asked a Republican to clarify stupid comments like Louie Gohmart they made "but they declined". Anderson Cooper and other reporters with facts do that all that time. Olbermann actually had a commercial explaining why there are no conservatives. His explanation was nothing close to yours.
@GovernmentSham912 : No surprise there ... I'm not him ... lol ... In truth it's probably more the fact that he does call them when they say stupid crap ... Gohmart is an absolute moron BTW, the stuff that comes out of his mouth is just sad ... and they are pissed off about it so they won't come on his show. That commercial would be worth looking for just for the sheer enjoyment of what Keith had to say ... has to be a classic ...
"Was Maddow's Criticism of Sharron Angle Also a Swipe at Olbermann?"
I still don't get it. "Make sure he's not incorrect"? Illuminate? Ever heard about why John Gibson calls him bathtub boy? That story explains a lot. I bet you Olbermann would quit his job if the fairness doctrine was brought back.
@GovernmentSham912 : I'll do that but the simple fact is that everyone has Skeletons in their closet & I'm sure that Keith has his fair share also. If you want to go WAY back find out why he quit ESPN ... ever hear of dick trickle ... Rachel & Keith are foils to each other, Keith the loud mouth & Rachel the calm rational voice of very researched reason. MSNBC will have the perfect line up when Lawrence starts his show. I'll admit my personal bias because I've been a fan of Keith since ESPN.
@GovernmentSham912 : But when you compare him to Hannity, Beck, & Billo ... he'd have to have killed someone to be any where near their level of crap ... talk about "skeletons" in the closet. I was a little taken back with his "special comment" on the Shirley Sherod thing, I don't think he would have jumped all over it like everyone else did but since he was on "vacation" it was an "easy" way for him to take the "high road" ... still his words rang clear with the truth ...
@GovernmentSham912 : And that's a word that the other 3 idiots don't know the meaning of anymore. Look at when Jon Stewart smacked him down for his WAY over the top screaming about Scott Brown. How did Keith respond ... a little blow back and then he admitted that he had been over the top. The "spin" from the MSNBC 3 is WAY closer to the truth than the spin from the FOX 3. If you want to disagree with that then we have nothing left to talk about.
@GovernmentSham912 O'Reilly has liberals oin his show all the time. Like him or not (I can't stand him) at least he has more balls than Olberman or Madcow.
@Robohump Love the whole Madcow thing. Very creative. I don't really watch Olbermann that much but Maddow in my opinion does have balls. She's willing to debate just about anyone and interviewed many conservatives and Republicans. The best part is she does so intelligently and gets to the substance of the issues.
That's why most Repubs and conservatives hate her. They don't have any substance . Just a lot of hot air.
@uchihaangelus LOL .. hey ! this is what some person wrote me ..( Umm .... really ? Please volunteer your case study then. Ppl wouldn't have a problem with FOX if they just admit they are NOT Fair and balanced and label themselves a conservative channel. Seriously. ...)
SUN TZT says: Invincibility lies on onself but to make an enemy vincible depends on him. Though one may know how to win he may not necessarily do so! Also know your EMEMY and KNOW YOURSELF, in 100 BATTLES YOU WILL NEVER BE IN PERIL!! We still don't know our enemy, torture will not get us any closer to knowing him or his nature. If the fools in Govt. ever truly understood the teaching of Master Sun we would not be doing any of this foolishness right now.
YES! WATER BOARD HANNITY! Make it a pay per view event where every dollar goes to the vets families who were killed in action. I think this is a great idea! i would pay to see it!
omg ... do you think when our troops gets caught by our enemies, they wont interrogate us ? hell no ... THEY TORCHER US !!! ... our military goes through fucken water boarding ... and thats nothing !!
would you do it for charity? of course its torture dumbass, no one is saying its not but would you rather we give them flowers and chocolates if you please tell me where the next bombing is going to be how about a all expense paid trip to disney world if you tell us.
This guys a stupid fuck. I want to ask him how the hell are we going to get information from terrorist if we dont interrogate them and water board them, are we just going to ask them kindly for the information on the next terrorist attack?
What you get from torture victims is crap anyway. First psychological rule of torture: People will say anything under severe duress. How do you sort the truth from the desperate lies?
@supowit You obviously know nothing about interrogation or how interrogators determine patterns of when people are lying and when they're telling the truth. Stop quoting your liberal idols and do some research.
I didn't say waterboarding wasn't torture. I said you obviously don'ty know how interrogators work. They don't go right to work on someone with a bucket of water or pliers or whatever. Whether waterboarding is torture or not makes no difference. You really think these rags would even bother with something like waterboarding if they got hold of an American?
So you are saying then that we should start sawing off their heads? Why stop at waterboarding... hell, if they can saw off americans heads, why not flip the cards on them?
@runawaygun762, torture is not new. The INQUISITION tortured people for over 3 centuries to get them to "Confess" to whatever they wanted. Most critical information is gotten from the enemy "willingly", torture as a information gathering tool is not reliable. If i tell you i don't know and YOU choose not to believe me you may burn me or whatever, and i will make up stuff to tell you so you stop. That is exactly what happened with K.S.M !! ANd we saw the results.
@nagone11, The results were that KSM gave up all kinds of information about the inner workings of Al-Quada he also gave up a plot on the attack on the Library Towers in LA which was disrupted and save hundreds of lives. No other tactic worked on KSM and it took over 100 times of being waterboarded for this to finally work. In their religion they only have to withstand what they can bare if they come to that limit they are allowed to talk, KSM reached his limit and waterboarding saved lives.
@JLaw012 that rightwing bullshit you're eating is fake and false. KSM gave up nothing, in fact what he told us was mis-information that did'nt stop jack shit. When Al Zarquawi bombed our embassy and killed DeMelo later that year KSM gave us info that in actuality took us off of that track. KSM was reduced to a babling retard that told us whatever we wanted to hear because the torture was done to get "information" to justify our actions! No different than the Inquisition used to do.......
@nagone11. No it is public knowledge, just because you choose to deny evidence does not make it false. Are you so damn stupid to pretend KSM knew nothing and gave up nothing?? give me a break KSM has more brains in his heel.
@JLaw012, you truly need to get a handle on history and also how real life saving information is gotten. It's mostly gotten by "inside doubled agents" who truly know what's going on and is given willingly. When Zarquawi was killed he was set up by Bin-laden and info was given to our army intel as to his position. As well as the insurgency quell in the Anbar province as we paid off Al Sadyr and his crew from bombings and fighting. Read the last chapter of SUN TZU, ...read....learn..understand!!
@nagone11. Right i guess we need to give them pillows and Coco Puffs in order for them to trust us and give us information, we need to be "nice" to them and understand their "culture", they would laugh at your family while decapitating you, you moron. I have read SUN TZU and if you think he would not dump water down some guys face in order to save thousands of his people then YOU are a complete idiot.
@nagone11. The opportunity to secure ourselves against defeat lies in our own hands, but the opportunity of defeating the enemy is provided by the enemy himself.
"In contrast to submerging the head face-forward in water, waterboarding precipitates an almost immediate gag reflex. It can cause extreme pain, dry drowning, damage to lungs, brain damage from oxygen deprivation, other physical injuries including broken bones due to struggling against restraints, lasting psychological damage or, if uninterrupted, death. Adverse physical consequences can manifest themselves months after the event, while psychological effects can last for years."
Waterboarding is not torture. Waterboarding is just dunking one's head in the water, coercing the prisoner to give out information on an act of terror. Torture is any method used that causes permanent disfigurement, loss or impairment of an organ, great bodily harm, serious bodily injury, etc. Waterboarding does not meet this criteria, so therefore, it is not torture. Read a law book, Keith.
@puppetmaster1011 actually there is a concept called "Soft torture" or "white torture" water boarding falls under that category,it's a psychological way to break you with out pulling out your finger nails. The times have changed my friend,we're no longer fighting each other by swords and as our weapons have become more sophisticated,so have our methods of torture.Have yourself confined in a cell & water boarded 183 times in a month then let's see what you think of water boarding.
@armidas200 Whenever people are hired in certain government agencies that use waterboarding, they are post-certified. Meaning that they go through the process themselves and see what it's like. Same thing with police before they qualify for mace and tazers. You have a good point, but I abide by what is in the law book, being a student in criminal justice. It doesn't matter how sophisticated our technology is, man's violent nature doesn't change. We are still sinful.
@puppetmaster1011 Well it's great to find out that I'm having a conversation with an intellectual.Look,it was lawful to have slaves,it was lawful to kill Jewish people,it was lawful to prosecute men who thought the earth was round and the list goes one.Although the personnel,as you so eloquently put it are "post-certified",they know it's a drill, which changes the whole experience.
what about international law which US agreed to uphold?
@armidas200 Due to our current leaders, it seems like we are loosing interest in international law. Luckily, we will be rid of these clowns in our leadership come November and we should be able to enforce international law depending on who we elect. Keep your fingers crossed. True, it does change the experience a little, but if you talk to them about their post-certification, chances are: they feel the experience and know what circumstances they should use these methods.
@puppetmaster1011 well, actually that is my problem, they shouldn't use torture or "enhanced interrogation Technics" simply because the detainee won't give you the info you need to hear but the info that you want to hear and this is a proven fact, under torture you can make people say ANYTHING!therefore it's not a source of intelligence hence it shouldn't be used.again as you said I hope America would someday honor the int'l laws that she signed and vowed to protect.
@armidas200 I agree and who knows, maybe sometime in the future, the law may change. Not that I'd be for it. Our legal system is very honest and all cases must be proven beyond all reasonable doubt. I will say that it's far from perfect, but we don't use waterboarding that much, only if the detainee threatens national security. I'm not for the trigger happy way of using waterboarding and you do have a point. I just think that the use should be very limited.
@paolo27th Have you studied the penal code? It explicitly defines great bodily harm (GBH) and serious bodily injury (SBI). Any act that meets this criteria is torture. I abide by what the law says, not what common sense says. As I said, it's use should be very limited as to who and what times it can be used.
@puppetmaster1011 Answer this question: Would you like to be waterboarded? Did you think it was only waterboarding that was used on these men? Whoever agrees to waterboarding is not worse than Dick Cheney!
@sexyzeeboy Yes, if I were to get a position in the government agency of national security. They are the only agency with authorization to use waterboarding. Like I said before, they are post-certified just like police being qualified for tazers and mace. They know what the experience is like and what circumstances they know when to use these methods.
@puppetmaster1011 Of course you would approve torture, because you aren't being waterboarded. You know Jesse Ventura? He said waterboarding is torture, you can't argue with him because he has been waterboarded. You know what it is to cut off your supply of air till your life flashes before your eyes? So dick Cheney gives it a fancy name and you buy his crap? Here we are wondering why the whole middle east is trying to kill us.
@sexyzeeboy And you buy all that conspiracy theorist crap that Jesse Ventura spouts 24/7 on national television? I seriously doubt that he was waterboarded, he appeared on The View talking about police using waterboarding in their investigations, if it works. That use, I disapprove of. If you are in college, take a criminology class or two, you'll have a clear understanding of the legality factors.
@puppetmaster1011 Yes, I do! It was all a joke when we went to vietnam for war, but no one was laughing when we realized that it was based on a lie. So 58000 men died based on a lie the government told. You don't believe he was waterboarded? He was in the force and everyone in the force gets waterboarded as a form of training to be prepared. Furthermore why don't we waterboard our criminals if it is okay? (please answer)
@sexyzeeboy The citizens of this country have the 8th amendment protection against cruel and unusual punishment. The police are not authorized to use waterboarding, and they would become corrupt if they did. Besides, we are using it on terrorists who were involved in the 9/11 incident, or any act of terror that threatens national security. These people are not U.S. citizens and they don't have the rights of American citizens. Only their kids, if born here have the rights.
@sexyzeeboy It's the same if an American goes to a country outside of the U.S. Besides, interrogating terrorists from a foreign country and domesticated criminals are two different scenarios. With terrorism you're dealing with an underground society that needs to be captured since they threaten the entire nation. Criminals, on the other hand, do not threaten national security. They threaten the citizens and it is the police's job to bring them to justice.
@sexyzeeboy Believe what you want, but I have studied the penal code and have a firm grasp on when and who to use interrogation methods on. Waterboarding is the lowest form of torture we can use. It is nothing compared to what the other countries do, both in their military and law enforcement.
@puppetmaster1011 Well, you see; That is what makes us the UNITED STATES! We aren't meant to be like others, for example: We are the only ones who view soccer as crap! One more thing, no, not all other countries use torture. Just because some countries are evil, doesn't mean we should join their crap. Civilized countries like u.k france germany and many others don't. We are supposed to be a good example for the others.
@sexyzeeboy Sorry, I meant to refer to the countries who live under a corrupt government. True, we need to be a good example, but we can't be nice to all of our enemies when it comes down to terrorism. We can't give them hospitality and expect them to tell our government classified information about their motives. That is when we have to get mean. Then again, I'm not going to force you to think my way. You have your views and I have mine.
@puppetmaster1011 Okay, at least you've accepted that citizens aren't waterboarded because it is cruel and unjust. Besides If a man's belief is strong enough for him to pick up a gun to fight or ready to matyr himself, do you really think anything you do will make him confess. Torture doesn't get the truth, it only force you to tell lies. Well, I want to commend you because you are the first matured person I have had a sincere argument with. Others resort to insults. You are matured.
@supowit I know that, and I admit, I made a mistake. We all make mistakes every once in a while. Stop trolling and do something productive with your life.
@supowit You're pretty tough behind the computer aren't you little fella. I read quite enough and have a 3.3 college GPA. So if I were you, I wouldn't talk. Did you read my comment, I explicitly state that waterboarding our citizens would be a violation of their rights listed in the Bill of Rights. The people we are waterboarding are not citizens and are terrorists so, therefore, it makes a legal difference. Did you get that, or do you have your head stuck up your ass?
@sexyzeeboy Second, the Middle East attacked us three times: twice during the Clinton administration and once under Bush. Clinton gave us clear evidence of a terrorist regime in Pakistan and Afghanistan led by Usama Bin-Laden and a picture of him taken by an unmanned drone. He just launched missiles all over Afghanistan. Bush handled the situation poorly as well by waging the war in Iraq instead of the original two countries. 9/11 was no inside job.
@puppetmaster1011 hum, well i know that we executed Japanese commanders after world war 2 for waterboarding American soldiers. So apparently it was a big deal then, but after 60 years I guess its not so bad anymore.
In 2 weeks it will be 1 year since Hannity said he would be waterboarded for the families of the troops. He STILL hasn't been waterboarded. What is this coward waiting for?
You could waterboard a 5 year old into admitting the Kennedy assasination. It has no relevance to revealing anything, but how humanity are still just a bunch of mongrels.. History repeats itself as we found that out the hard way during the spanish inquisition. Infact this is the same guilty conscious/fear tactics the govt. brainwashes us with. Up to the same hypnotic blackmagic as usual.
@andyx1205 First thing is no Japanese were executed for waterboarding, one was sentenced to 15 years hard labor. The ones who were executed were the ones who used prisoners as bayonet practice, shooting targets, and used them as slaves. They don't even compare. Second we have waterboarded 3 terrorists, and they did unspeakable things. Compare that to the number of our people that have been put in front of a camera told to read a prepared statement then have their head sawed off. (continued)
@andyx1205 Feel free to watch one of the many beheading videos on the internet and tell me if that compares to making a terrorist, responsible for killing people, feel like their drowning. Hell, KSM personally beheaded some of those people. It's sad our own citizens are more worried about terrorists rights then our own prisoner's lives. BTW If we waterboarded everyone coming through Gitmo I'd have a problem, but waterboarding sick people with valuable info is perfectly fine with me.
@andyx1205 The U.S. Waterboards Navy Seals, Marine Recon, Snipers, And pilots. Anyone who goes behind enemy lines as a way to prepare them for what they will face if captured.....If waterboarding is torture - do you believe that the U.S. tortures it's own soldiers ???
Line up your not the only person that would want to rip the air out of this souless monster that is laughing and quite pleased with this humane treatment your child is NOT getting.
If your child was a prisoner in a taliban camp, jimoohabeed here was the only person that knows where that camp was.. As you guessed he is not talking, as a matter of fact he will gain rights that soldiers died for that only OUR citizens are supposed to have.. He will be tied up in court for a few years being fed 3 square a day.. It dont take those terrorists long to make another example video of a beheading. Your kid could be next. Waterboarding anyone?

Torture doesn't work as far as attaining information. ("Authorities" have known THAT for centuries!) HOWEVER, it DOES work as far as TERRORIZING the populace with the FEAR of being tortured for misdemeanors under fascism in the future!
Also, a side benefit of torturing people is that it brings horrible mentally ill sadistic people like Dick Cheney to orgasm.

Tell me, what have the Republicans offered-up to help this country in its worst recession?
caseycollison 1 year ago
@caseycollison... you must remember something, or maybe even learn from simple logic. Those that are rich were not always rich. They WORKED and BUILT their empires with the mind of an entrepreneur and a positive work ethic. The problem with America today is too many entitlements! The less taxation on the rich, the more job creation. You tax the rich, no wonder they go overseas. Government taxes our revenue too much and returns far less.
Merc9093 8 months ago
@Merc9093 Fuck, not everyone has the same starting position in life.
You clearly don't get the estate and "entitlement" problem the top 1%-percentile are suffocated in, lying on money that is never used and accumulates as stale liquid assets to individuals and corporations who never put it back into the economy. Research the Eisenhower-era and the golden prosperity proper taxing of the rich elicits, and proper "dead person" estate taxing, so kids don't become "Paris Hilton's" doing FUCK ALL.
TAz69x 8 months ago 2
@TAz69x I never was rich. We bought second hand clothes coming up. I got my job and worked hard, paid my own insurance and car note. I went to school studied and applied myself, graduated with an Associates in Business and a minor in Communications. Ive just finished NDT schooling and I have a job lined up making $97,000 a year... Isn't that the "American Dream." I wasn't born rich, but I sure as hell am not gonna wait for it to fall outta the sky. I applied and I attained, therefore I gain.

Merc9093 6 months ago
@Merc9093 Instead of applying simple logic, you should have stuck with simple history, and it shows that the percentage of people who got wealthy did not do it through hard work themselves but on backs of others. This country's history is fill with oppression and this is why you have things like the labor unions, the minimum wage, child labor laws anti-slavery laws, migrant and seasonal workers protection laws etc.
Ryooken 7 months ago
@caseycollison "cutting minimum wage will help our economy" proven true by economics. more revenue for hire, more jobs, then more tax revenue. Go learn macroeconomics... you can find that at any 4 year university.
Merc9093 8 months ago
@Merc9093 You must have failed it then because while cutting the minimum wage may indeed create more jobs, it will destroy the living wage. That's the amount of money a person needs to live without starvation. Subsequently, by cutting the minimum wage you overburden every other industry that must support it. That means the fast food industry will die, the entertainment industry will follow, until total economic collapse. I suggest before you tout macro-economics, you actually learn it.
Ryooken 7 months ago
@Ryooken You are not too smart... if the minimum wage is raised, the price of products will follow. Look into the every time it was raised and tell me if price of goods and services doesn't follow. Do you not know of the supply-demand curve analyst? Suggest you learn. That is one of the basis of how speculators judge their monetary future.
Merc9093 7 months ago
@Merc9093 LOL! You're not serious? You can't be. The cost of products go up all the time and that's with or without a minimum wage increase. The minimum wage didn't go up for over 10 years and the price of goods went up significantly. If you are going to make correlations you had best be able to rule out other factors that cause the same results.
Ryooken 7 months ago

Merc9093 7 months ago
@Merc9093 Well that's very nice and all but what does that have to do with the exploitation in this country? I come from a middle class family right after segregation, and I am now making almost 80,000 per year. What does any of this have to do with lowering the minimum wage beyond the cost of living?
Ryooken 7 months ago
@Ryooken Sry. This is an argument against your support of higher taxes on the rich and how the poor cannot excel. Guess I'm just an over achiever, too bad there are enough in your world.
Merc9093 7 months ago
@Merc9093 Correction you are allowed to be an over achiever. There is the difference. As you should know that experience isn't universal and that people in this country have been prevented from achieving while others are allowed to do so. I could give you a laundry list of this but it would take too long and I am sure you really aren't interested as it destroys your theories.
Ryooken 7 months ago
@Ryooken LOL! If I apply myself and work hard at achieving something, few things can stop me. Everyone has the ability to arise except for maybe those who are in bottomless debt through poor monetary principles such as lack of budgeting and misplaced priorities. I ask you, what would OR would not allow me to be an overachiever, answer that? Considering you are finding a quick exit, I believe you find the base of your argument has been ripped from under you. Give me that laundry list. Hahahahaaa!
Merc9093 7 months ago
@Merc9093 Really how about those migrants? If they work hard? How about the entrepenuers that had to fight for their inventions because companies stole them. Look up most of the black inventions and see what happened to most of the inventors. I will tell you what go to any city in the USA darken your skin then see where your education gets you. No, I didn't drop the total laundry list on you because quite simply, it's a waste of time.
Ryooken 7 months ago
@Ryooken So its not a matter of argument about economical status, but of the color of your skin?? How many prominent African Americans have made names for themselves? Please hoop off your pity train from the 60s, its 2011.
Merc9093 6 months ago
@Merc9093 Not the point. How does that change the persecution in this country? How many black people have been targeted because of their color and lost most if not all of their wealth? How many blacks have had their freedom taken without cause because of their prominant roles? Take those blinders off and wake up and smell what you have been shoveling.
Ryooken 6 months ago
@Ryooken In prison, I am sure they is every race of people locked up that committed crimes. Sorry but no can do. You are ignorant enough to play a racist card shows how cheap you really are. Okay, I'm half Cherokee and no other group suffered worse or deserves the most. America was our land. But you wont find this Caucasian / American Indian using that crutch. Get out of your childish pity party and MAN UP!
Merc9093 6 months ago
@Ryooken By the way, I never got that laundry list. To add insult to injury, tell me of a black man of recent history (2000-present) that "had their freedom taken without cause because of their prominent roles."
Merc9093 6 months ago
@Merc9093 LOL! This is precisely why I said that you really aren't interested in that laundry list. You are not interested in understanding the basic problem. You equate success to finanicial gains. While money is nice and somewhat necessary for survival, it's not the measure of success. I used prominant people because of their race who have lost their financial acuity to show you that without equality money means nothing. As I thought it fell on def ears.
Ryooken 6 months ago
@Ryooken You are a poor businessman. Success is measured by your assets and financial status. When you sell a business, it is valued by properties, client database, and the demand of your business. Maybe you should see Herman Cain, an African American, who became very successful... and rich I'm sure. 4 words, Successful companies are prosperous. What is the definition of success in a business?

caseycollison 1 year ago
@caseycollison The poor (and uneducated) overwhelmingly vote Democratic. This is common sense and has been the case since the 1930's and FDR's "new deal". The Democrats pander to the poor and uneducated. They win landslide victories in inner-city black ghettos where the income average is next to zero and the education level is virtually non-existant. How many black gang bangers voted Obama? How many poor highschool dropouts voted Obama? How many ignorant welfare frauds voted Obama?
Robohump 1 year ago
@Robohump I'd say very low, approaching zero. After all, since when have criminals and delinquents had high voter turn out rates? Those kinds of people don't vote Democrat, they don't vote at all. And your facts are also messed up, as education and liberal tendencies are correlated. Where do you think the Ivy League Liberal Elitist idea came from? It wasn't from high school dropouts, I'll tell you that.
RyoWolf 1 year ago
@RyoWolf The lower the average income, the higher the probability that a voter will vote for the Democrats. This is a proven fact and it's been the case for over 40 years now. Obama won among the lowest income groups (who also have the lowest education). Obama swept the ghettos, which have very low income and very low education. These are just facts.
Robohump 1 year ago
@Robohump ...what source are you getting your information from? I don't know how you can compare the parties and their view points and then think this...your party has people believing death panels, President is a Muslim, tax cuts are fiscally consevative agendas--absolute ignorance. You can poke and prod at a few followers, but look at you party's leaders; if the foundation is crap, most likely the rest of the structure ain't worth a nickel.
caseycollison 1 year ago
@Robohump ...who do you support out of the Republican party? How can you support a group so unwilling to help in fixing our crap economy (count their filibusters)? How can you support a group who only want to take care of millionaires, no matter how devistating it is to our budget?--what policies do you support out of the party? They want to use the same things that got us into this mess to get us out??? Does that make any sense? Show some spine, and tell everyone why you follow ignorance...
caseycollison 1 year ago
@caseycollison ...you should watch C-SPAN and what went on recently. Republican bitch about the Dems not budging, but when the Dems budge and move the tax cuts to cover everyone making less than a million dollars, the Republicans say no. What is a compromise in you definition, and how are they following their end in the process? Sorry for all the question, but they are questions someone needs to answer...and if you can't, then what the hell are you supporting?
caseycollison 1 year ago
@caseycollison Thats BS. there are idiots on both sides. a union member who beats a protestor (Democrat), what about when Republican senator Kyle McCarter is punched in the chest by a (Democrat) senator in the House of Rep. Shall I pull up more? I went to school with 95% black population, some of my greatest friends are black. Stereotyping is for those who feel insecure and must put themselves over others to feel worth something. They are weak individuals.
Merc9093 7 months ago
@caseycollison The 'poorer uneducated' had a choice to remain so. Had they applied themselves in school they would have a better life and the ability to pursue the American Dream. People have the right to remain ignorant. If Ignorance is accepted then soon ignorance will lead by majority. Entitlements feed the some and those 'some' take advantage of it and never strive to better themselves so they can outgrow their need of the handout.
Merc9093 7 months ago
@tedatlas As for what you said about unfair taxes...where is it so unfair? If you try to gather that same amount of wealth from lower classes...first, they wouldn't be able to afford Top Ramer, and second the amount of money wouldn't equal what is needed to run this country. Look, every group sacrifices a lot for this country...which groups normally see their children off to war? Which groups normally have to work 50-60 hours a week to see their children stay fed and clothed?
caseycollison 1 year ago
@caseycollison ...those tax cuts were made by a very fiscally irresponsible President...a trillion dollars of unpaid for tax cuts? That is a freaking joke, just so a lot of rich people who were not struggling got a 100K paycheck that obviously didn't do a single thing for this country in the way of long term economic growth....not to mention most don't even pay the 36%, because of loopholes in the tax system. Olbermann owned Hannity
btw
I'll give $1,000 to charity for every conservative guest Olbermann debates and has on his show. Staring now. The only time there are conservative guests on his show is when Lawrence O'Donnell fills in.
GovernmentSham912 1 year ago
@GovernmentSham912 : There's a simple reason why you don't see Keith have any "conservative" guests on his show ... they won't come on. They know that Keith will tear their dribble to shreds with real facts and they would look like the true fools that they are. I'll be the first to admit that Keith goes over the line at times, IE: Scott Brown, but he is man enough to admit when he's wrong. Ever see Hannity, Billo, Beck, or Palin admit they were wrong about anything? Me neither.
JediDude38 1 year ago
@JediDude38
GovernmentSham912 1 year ago
@GovernmentSham912 : No surprise there ... I'm not him ... lol ... In truth it's probably more the fact that he does call them when they say stupid crap ... Gohmart is an absolute moron BTW, the stuff that comes out of his mouth is just sad ... and they are pissed off about it so they won't come on his show. That commercial would be worth looking for just for the sheer enjoyment of what Keith had to say ... has to be a classic ...
JediDude38 1 year ago
@JediDude38
Just Google
"Was Maddow's Criticism of Sharron Angle Also a Swipe at Olbermann?"
I still don't get it. "Make sure he's not incorrect"? Illuminate? Ever heard about why John Gibson calls him bathtub boy? That story explains a lot. I bet you Olbermann would quit his job if the fairness doctrine was brought back.
GovernmentSham912 1 year ago
@GovernmentSham912 : I'll do that but the simple fact is that everyone has Skeletons in their closet & I'm sure that Keith has his fair share also. If you want to go WAY back find out why he quit ESPN ... ever hear of dick trickle ... Rachel & Keith are foils to each other, Keith the loud mouth & Rachel the calm rational voice of very researched reason. MSNBC will have the perfect line up when Lawrence starts his show. I'll admit my personal bias because I've been a fan of Keith since ESPN.
JediDude38 1 year ago
@GovernmentSham912 : But when you compare him to Hannity, Beck, & Billo ... he'd have to have killed someone to be any where near their level of crap ... talk about "skeletons" in the closet. I was a little taken back with his "special comment" on the Shirley Sherod thing, I don't think he would have jumped all over it like everyone else did but since he was on "vacation" it was an "easy" way for him to take the "high road" ... still his words rang clear with the truth ...
JediDude38 1 year ago
@GovernmentSham912 : And that's a word that the other 3 idiots don't know the meaning of anymore. Look at when Jon Stewart smacked him down for his WAY over the top screaming about Scott Brown. How did Keith respond ... a little blow back and then he admitted that he had been over the top. The "spin" from the MSNBC 3 is WAY closer to the truth than the spin from the FOX 3. If you want to disagree with that then we have nothing left to talk about.

The difference between "torture" and "enhanced interrogation" is trash. That said, I believe in torture.

This guys a stupid fuck. I want to ask him how the hell are we going to get information from terrorist if we dont interrogate them and water board them, are we just going to ask them kindly for the information on the next terrorist attack?
Austinpowers10101 1 year ago
@Austinpowers10101
What you get from torture victims is crap anyway. First psychological rule of torture: People will say anything under severe duress. How do you sort the truth from the desperate lies?
supowit 1 year ago
@supowit You obviously know nothing about interrogation or how interrogators determine patterns of when people are lying and when they're telling the truth. Stop quoting your liberal idols and do some research.
runawaygun762 1 year ago
@runawaygun762
My "liberal idiots" that know nothing about water boarding? Like Jesse Ventura?
supowit 1 year ago
@supowit
I didn't say waterboarding wasn't torture. I said you obviously don'ty know how interrogators work. They don't go right to work on someone with a bucket of water or pliers or whatever. Whether waterboarding is torture or not makes no difference. You really think these rags would even bother with something like waterboarding if they got hold of an American?
runawaygun762 1 year ago
@runawaygun762
So you are saying then that we should start sawing off their heads? Why stop at waterboarding... hell, if they can saw off americans heads, why not flip the cards on them?

@supowit That's exactly the type of thinking lesser countries would favor. The simple solution is don't take prisoners.

supowit 1 year ago
@runawaygun762, torture is not new. The INQUISITION tortured people for over 3 centuries to get them to "Confess" to whatever they wanted. Most critical information is gotten from the enemy "willingly", torture as a information gathering tool is not reliable. If i tell you i don't know and YOU choose not to believe me you may burn me or whatever, and i will make up stuff to tell you so you stop. That is exactly what happened with K.S.M !! ANd we saw the results.
nagone11 1 year ago
@nagone11, The results were that KSM gave up all kinds of information about the inner workings of Al-Quada he also gave up a plot on the attack on the Library Towers in LA which was disrupted and save hundreds of lives. No other tactic worked on KSM and it took over 100 times of being waterboarded for this to finally work. In their religion they only have to withstand what they can bare if they come to that limit they are allowed to talk, KSM reached his limit and waterboarding saved lives.
JLaw012 1 year ago
@JLaw012 that rightwing bullshit you're eating is fake and false. KSM gave up nothing, in fact what he told us was mis-information that did'nt stop jack shit. When Al Zarquawi bombed our embassy and killed DeMelo later that year KSM gave us info that in actuality took us off of that track. KSM was reduced to a babling retard that told us whatever we wanted to hear because the torture was done to get "information" to justify our actions! No different than the Inquisition used to do.......
nagone11 1 year ago
@nagone11. No it is public knowledge, just because you choose to deny evidence does not make it false. Are you so damn stupid to pretend KSM knew nothing and gave up nothing?? give me a break KSM has more brains in his heel.
JLaw012 1 year ago
@JLaw012, you truly need to get a handle on history and also how real life saving information is gotten. It's mostly gotten by "inside doubled agents" who truly know what's going on and is given willingly. When Zarquawi was killed he was set up by Bin-laden and info was given to our army intel as to his position. As well as the insurgency quell in the Anbar province as we paid off Al Sadyr and his crew from bombings and fighting. Read the last chapter of SUN TZU, ...read....learn..understand!!
nagone11 1 year ago

Adverse physical consequences can manifest themselves months after the event, while psychological effects can last for years."
falconfira 1 year ago
Waterboarding is not torture. Waterboarding is just dunking one's head in the water, coercing the prisoner to give out information on an act of terror. Torture is any method used that causes permanent disfigurement, loss or impairment of an organ, great bodily harm, serious bodily injury, etc. Waterboarding does not meet this criteria, so therefore, it is not torture. Read a law book, Keith.
puppetmaster1011 1 year ago
@puppetmaster1011 actually there is a concept called "Soft torture" or "white torture" water boarding falls under that category,it's a psychological way to break you with out pulling out your finger nails. The times have changed my friend,we're no longer fighting each other by swords and as our weapons have become more sophisticated,so have our methods of torture.Have yourself confined in a cell & water boarded 183 times in a month then let's see what you think of water boarding.
armidas200 1 year ago
@armidas200 Whenever people are hired in certain government agencies that use waterboarding, they are post-certified. Meaning that they go through the process themselves and see what it's like. Same thing with police before they qualify for mace and tazers. You have a good point, but I abide by what is in the law book, being a student in criminal justice. It doesn't matter how sophisticated our technology is, man's violent nature doesn't change. We are still sinful.
puppetmaster1011 1 year ago
@puppetmaster1011 Well it's great to find out that I'm having a conversation with an intellectual.Look,it was lawful to have slaves,it was lawful to kill Jewish people,it was lawful to prosecute men who thought the earth was round and the list goes one.Although the personnel,as you so eloquently put it are "post-certified",they know it's a drill, which changes the whole experience.
what about international law which US agreed to uphold?
armidas200 1 year ago
@armidas200 Due to our current leaders, it seems like we are loosing interest in international law. Luckily, we will be rid of these clowns in our leadership come November and we should be able to enforce international law depending on who we elect. Keep your fingers crossed. True, it does change the experience a little, but if you talk to them about their post-certification, chances are: they feel the experience and know what circumstances they should use these methods.
puppetmaster1011 1 year ago
@puppetmaster1011 well, actually that is my problem, they shouldn't use torture or "enhanced interrogation Technics" simply because the detainee won't give you the info you need to hear but the info that you want to hear and this is a proven fact, under torture you can make people say ANYTHING!therefore it's not a source of intelligence hence it shouldn't be used.again as you said I hope America would someday honor the int'l laws that she signed and vowed to protect.
armidas200 1 year ago
@armidas200 I agree and who knows, maybe sometime in the future, the law may change. Not that I'd be for it. Our legal system is very honest and all cases must be proven beyond all reasonable doubt. I will say that it's far from perfect, but we don't use waterboarding that much, only if the detainee threatens national security. I'm not for the trigger happy way of using waterboarding and you do have a point. I just think that the use should be very limited.
puppetmaster1011 1 year ago
@puppetmaster1011 I think you should be waterborded until you admit it`s torture.
paolo27th 1 year ago
@paolo27th Have you studied the penal code? It explicitly defines great bodily harm (GBH) and serious bodily injury (SBI). Any act that meets this criteria is torture. I abide by what the law says, not what common sense says. As I said, it's use should be very limited as to who and what times it can be used.
puppetmaster1011 1 year ago
@puppetmaster1011 Answer this question: Would you like to be waterboarded? Did you think it was only waterboarding that was used on these men? Whoever agrees to waterboarding is not worse than Dick Cheney!
sexyzeeboy 1 year ago
@sexyzeeboy Yes, if I were to get a position in the government agency of national security. They are the only agency with authorization to use waterboarding. Like I said before, they are post-certified just like police being qualified for tazers and mace. They know what the experience is like and what circumstances they know when to use these methods.
puppetmaster1011 1 year ago
@puppetmaster1011 Of course you would approve torture, because you aren't being waterboarded. You know Jesse Ventura? He said waterboarding is torture, you can't argue with him because he has been waterboarded. You know what it is to cut off your supply of air till your life flashes before your eyes? So dick Cheney gives it a fancy name and you buy his crap? Here we are wondering why the whole middle east is trying to kill us.
sexyzeeboy 1 year ago
@sexyzeeboy And you buy all that conspiracy theorist crap that Jesse Ventura spouts 24/7 on national television? I seriously doubt that he was waterboarded, he appeared on The View talking about police using waterboarding in their investigations, if it works. That use, I disapprove of. If you are in college, take a criminology class or two, you'll have a clear understanding of the legality factors.
puppetmaster1011 1 year ago
@puppetmaster1011 Yes, I do! It was all a joke when we went to vietnam for war, but no one was laughing when we realized that it was based on a lie. So 58000 men died based on a lie the government told. You don't believe he was waterboarded? He was in the force and everyone in the force gets waterboarded as a form of training to be prepared. Furthermore why don't we waterboard our criminals if it is okay? (please answer)
sexyzeeboy 1 year ago
@sexyzeeboy The citizens of this country have the 8th amendment protection against cruel and unusual punishment. The police are not authorized to use waterboarding, and they would become corrupt if they did. Besides, we are using it on terrorists who were involved in the 9/11 incident, or any act of terror that threatens national security. These people are not U.S. citizens and they don't have the rights of American citizens. Only their kids, if born here have the rights.
puppetmaster1011 1 year ago
@sexyzeeboy It's the same if an American goes to a country outside of the U.S. Besides, interrogating terrorists from a foreign country and domesticated criminals are two different scenarios. With terrorism you're dealing with an underground society that needs to be captured since they threaten the entire nation. Criminals, on the other hand, do not threaten national security. They threaten the citizens and it is the police's job to bring them to justice.
puppetmaster1011 1 year ago
@sexyzeeboy In other words police enforce the law, the military protects the country. Two different things.
puppetmaster1011 1 year ago
@puppetmaster1011 Well, it wouldn't bother me if military protect the country except torture is a war crime and violates international law, see?
sexyzeeboy 1 year ago
@sexyzeeboy Believe what you want, but I have studied the penal code and have a firm grasp on when and who to use interrogation methods on. Waterboarding is the lowest form of torture we can use. It is nothing compared to what the other countries do, both in their military and law enforcement.
puppetmaster1011 1 year ago
@puppetmaster1011 Well, you see; That is what makes us the UNITED STATES! We aren't meant to be like others, for example: We are the only ones who view soccer as crap! One more thing, no, not all other countries use torture. Just because some countries are evil, doesn't mean we should join their crap. Civilized countries like u.k france germany and many others don't. We are supposed to be a good example for the others.
sexyzeeboy 1 year ago
@sexyzeeboy Sorry, I meant to refer to the countries who live under a corrupt government. True, we need to be a good example, but we can't be nice to all of our enemies when it comes down to terrorism. We can't give them hospitality and expect them to tell our government classified information about their motives. That is when we have to get mean. Then again, I'm not going to force you to think my way. You have your views and I have mine.
puppetmaster1011 1 year ago
@puppetmaster1011 Okay, at least you've accepted that citizens aren't waterboarded because it is cruel and unjust. Besides If a man's belief is strong enough for him to pick up a gun to fight or ready to matyr himself, do you really think anything you do will make him confess. Torture doesn't get the truth, it only force you to tell lies. Well, I want to commend you because you are the first matured person I have had a sincere argument with. Others resort to insults. You are matured.

@sexyzeeboy Thank you very much. I may not agree with you, but I enjoyed our debate nonetheless.

Even if that were the case, it is illegal, and inadmissible. So, what would be the point?
supowit 1 year ago
@supowit You're pretty tough behind the computer aren't you little fella. I read quite enough and have a 3.3 college GPA. So if I were you, I wouldn't talk. Did you read my comment, I explicitly state that waterboarding our citizens would be a violation of their rights listed in the Bill of Rights. The people we are waterboarding are not citizens and are terrorists so, therefore, it makes a legal difference. Did you get that, or do you have your head stuck up your ass?
puppetmaster1011 1 year ago
@puppetmaster1011
whooppee for you and your GPA. you want to measure your dick against mine, too?
If I am not mistaken, waterboarding violates international law... the Geneva Convention.
Look it up.
ANd I'm not trolling. Rhetorically smacking people is not trolling. Not if you're right.
supowit 1 year ago
@sexyzeeboy Second, the Middle East attacked us three times: twice during the Clinton administration and once under Bush. Clinton gave us clear evidence of a terrorist regime in Pakistan and Afghanistan led by Usama Bin-Laden and a picture of him taken by an unmanned drone. He just launched missiles all over Afghanistan. Bush handled the situation poorly as well by waging the war in Iraq instead of the original two countries. 9/11 was no inside job.

Up to the same hypnotic blackmagic as usual.

water boarding really is not that bad and if the terrorists just gave up the info then we wouldn't have to use it
Synyster1000 1 year ago
If water-boarding isn't bad then tell me Mr. Genius.
Why were Japanese Soldiers in World War 2 that were convicted of waterboarding Americans, punished via execution? DOUBLE FUCKING STANDARDS!
andyx1205 1 year ago
@andyx1205 First thing is no Japanese were executed for waterboarding, one was sentenced to 15 years hard labor. The ones who were executed were the ones who used prisoners as bayonet practice, shooting targets, and used them as slaves. They don't even compare. Second we have waterboarded 3 terrorists, and they did unspeakable things. Compare that to the number of our people that have been put in front of a camera told to read a prepared statement then have their head sawed off. (continued)
Da55Moose 1 year ago
@andyx1205 Feel free to watch one of the many beheading videos on the internet and tell me if that compares to making a terrorist, responsible for killing people, feel like their drowning. Hell, KSM personally beheaded some of those people. It's sad our own citizens are more worried about terrorists rights then our own prisoner's lives. BTW If we waterboarded everyone coming through Gitmo I'd have a problem, but waterboarding sick people with valuable info is perfectly fine with me.
Da55Moose 1 year ago
@andyx1205 The U.S. Waterboards Navy Seals, Marine Recon, Snipers, And pilots. Anyone who goes behind enemy lines as a way to prepare them for what they will face if captured.....If waterboarding is torture - do you believe that the U.S. tortures it's own soldiers ???
