4850 is slightly better than the gtx 260m. The 160m GT is far worse than both of them.

Nice man, yeah the dual 4870 + 6 gb of ram + q9000 is amazing (plus i overclocked my q9000's yesterday and we now have MSI overclock for q9000 working!) i think :)

Im really happy that i got the lower end of native resolution, i beat a gtx 280 with overclock on in crysis benchmark!

I had no overclock at all, just my res was slightly less than his.

dude..ur talking about a dual 4870. thats not rly a fair comparison compared too a single gtx280m.

Soon the sli version of gtx280m will come out and will kick ur crossfire radeon's ass. :P

GTX280m are based off the 9800m gtx core, which means they are a poor release, ATI are getting ahead of the mobile market here concidering there mobile cards are based off there desktop varients :D

LOL... all benchmarks already showed better FPS with Dual GTX than a Dual Radeon. ATI is nothing ahead of nvidia. plus one GTX280m has almost the same scores as Dual 4870 so.. :P

You overclock a radeon, your not gna melt it, and its gna blow the hell off a gtx 280m...its proven, overclocked 4850 v a gtx 280 the ati comes out ontop..and the 4870 dont even have gddr5 yet, so im sticking with NVID poor releasing things...

NOPE.. ur talking about both the desktop versions.. I was talking about the Mobile Versions. even though the 4850 has 800 Sp's... it cannot outperform the mobile GTX280M. and that is already proven..on all sites so.. I win.. U loose :P

wrong, a gtx280m doesnt stand a chance against a 4850, especially when overclocked.

Do you know that the mobile versions of the 4850 ARE the desktop versions? thought not...

GTX280M is a 9800m gtx with a different name, its the fact, same core, smaller die.

Ok thats wrong, gtx 280m and 4850 are on equal footing, but the gtx 280m is pushed to its limits and old tech.

At present, the benchmarks show qx9300 + gtx280m overclocked = 13500 or so on 3dmark 06(just an example)

QX9300 + 4850 overclocked = well over 14k, i will get hold of the relevant screens if required.

ah....not quite. A single GTX 280M scores around 17 fps in crysis, where as the W90vp with dual 4870s was scoring 34 fps so I would say its a close match.

The 4850 is scoring more then a gtx 280m that is overclocked.

The 4850 on the otherhand is not overclocked and cannot be due to the heat the card produces.

The MSI can eat through crysis like butter so the fool who thinks Very High means 10 fps, i suggest you buy one of these machines and find out for yourself.

Also a person named Tester has unlocked the HD4850 Mobility clocks and hits 12 000 on 06 mark.

there is no way you're getting 25fps faisalhero. you bench warhead on HIGH and you have 24, VERY HIGH means 10fps.

games looks too choppy. 10-15fps?

again, 1680x1050 is not monitor native resolution. do 1920x1200...well, maybe not because it barely handles at 1680x1050.

4850 is impressive though...way to go AMD

1680x1050 is the uk und eu native res.

pls stfu if u dont know anything - and yes he could have 25 frames. got the notebook, too and overclocked the grapichs card by about 20% the core and 30% the memory. plus oc'ed the cpu and ram from 2,53ghz and 800mhz ram by 24% - and yes crysis runs with about 25 - 30 fps on maxxed settings. jealus nerd!

There's a way you can hack crysis settings to make it run VERY HIGH in windows xp. Crytek knows this that's why they allow VERY HIGH in warhead & farcry2.

I just bought this laptop and its freaking awesome. I'm playing with extreme settings from a custom mod and it works almost perfect in 1680x1050. But does anyone know of a step by step guide to update the ati catalyst drivers to 9.3?
