This is bizarre... I like Diana Ross in general, but she's REALLY flat on this; it also sounds like it was one of those moments of "Oh, we have fifteen minutes left of studio time? Hey, why don't I hastily learn this song and add it to the album".
diana does a good job with vocals on this track, but i must agree with most of the comments here, the music arrangements are god-awful! It sounds rather Lawrence Welk-esque on some parts and on other parts with that blaring electric guitar, like background music for a cartoon series, i.e. any episode of The Roadrunner. Whoever the arranger was ought to be bitch-slapped repeatedly!
too damn fast... the thing that is nice about this song is the leisurely way in which freddie sung it... it's really relaxing... there's none of that in this version
which versions of the album have this song on it?it should have been on all versions, it would've split the album up better.without it, the album is basically just a bunch of midtempos/ballads that can drag on. (still love the album though) I actually prefer it to the original.i always considered Queen an overrated band.i can't help it.people just praise all the hell out of their songs.their songs are catchy with good production but not the amazing masterpieces that people claim the songs are
While I would agree that this is not the best production from Diana Ross catalog by far. As a producer I could remix this performance into something much more pleasing to the ear Im sure. It just needs a different approach in the studio. Its not that bad. Ive heard worse from others -- that became big hits.
this is real crap. this a good example of how to rape a good song

It's a little too fast, but it's still Diana Ross--and that lady's been fine with me since 1964.

Agreeing with Over21Tracks. The production sucks, while the vocals are fine.
