I don't think that they ever hated each other. I think that it was just a relationship between two women that are so much alike that they can piss each other off. They both had issues. Erica with her trauma from being rape and Kendall's resentment towards Erica for her giving her up for adoption as well as Kendall's feeling like she didn't belong since she found out she was adopted. Then finding out she was a a result of rape really made her more insecure.
