Capacitive vs Resistive touchscreen - Arnova 10 vs Archos 101 IT touchscreen test

What touch screen tester program is this? I've downloaded 6 so far that weren't it. My 101g9 has some amazingly bad out-of-calibration issues and your software seems to work better than any I've downloaded in the Market yet.

@MrAndroidDev Theoretically yes, but the process of physically changing the screen and modifying the system to accept a different screen driver would probably make the operation pointless.

@jazzyjazzyjazzy capacitive. It's more sensitive, does not require to "push" on the screen, it also can get several touch point at the same time.

@arctablet depends what you want to do with it... for larger tablets i would suggest capacitive but for smaller tablets i would go for resistive since its pointless to use more fingers because of the small screen.. and its cheaper

The cpu is much slower on the resistive tablet, that's what's happening. The viewsonic e7 with resistive touchscreen is multitouch and responds like the capacitive, just try it for yourself.

Seems like the only perk to a resistive screen are the ability to use styluses easy which I imagine would be useful in a setting such as a doctor office or a restaurant

For android tablets, NEVER EVER get one with a resistive touchscreen. Capacitive is so much better. Someone I know has one with a resistive touchscreen, and you can barely operate it. Plus, with capacitive, you get multitouch, and it's very sensitive, only to your fingers! :D

Que comparação inútil. A tela com toque resistivo que vc está usando é mono toque, e de péssima qualidade. Se usar uma boa tela com multitoque resistivo ficará quase igual a tela capacitiva.

The arnova is crashing and it has 400 mhz less than the 101 and that is much for a tablet

@xadam2dudex It's because Arnova is more accurate. The Archos' only advantages are the multi-touch and the needless use of a stylus. If you're an artist, resistive is the way to go.

@MrMillzy991 Yes, I've seen the video, but that doesn't prove anything about the accuracy. I guess you're just one of those people that just watch a video and judge from what you see. If you didn't know, which I think you do, resistive screens are more accurate because they give more accurate measurement of the touch position; therefore, are widely use for animation studios. Heck, even banks, grocery stores, etc. uses resistive because of better handwriting recognition.

@MrMillzy991 Not only are resistive screens accurate, they are also touch sensitive. In other words, the pressure of the writing can differ. Drawings on resistive is also more dynamic because of the pressure sensitivity. Unless capacitive screens can accurately be used to sign my name, then I'd consider. But that's not possible right now.

@MsMeloman Не думаю, что кто-то будет покупать таблет чисто для чтения, есть более удобные электронные книги. И вообще в любом варианте использования побеждает емкостный экран - он не только мультитач поддерживает, но еще и работает намного быстрее и лучше, чем резистивный.

Resistive touchscreen had been Reputated for their PRECISION, IT ONLY DEPENDS of how well it had been made!!!

Good Resistive Screens cost less than Capacitive and are more precise, for multi-touch, a company is developing a firmware for normal resistive screens that calculates your two fingers from the detected center point. (as in the video)

Thus, the ONLY precise capacitive screens are made from... (*sigh) yes, from apple...
