Death Row > Bad Boy, No Limit, Roc-a-Fella, Cash Money, Young Money and whoever wasnt big enough for me to even remember on this list

  • How in the world do people think anything after the year 2000 is better than this? People are insane. I dont care who, NONE of these people around today even compare.

  • Classic album I remember buying the CD in October 1995 & I still bump that shit today Kurupt is just as lyrical if not more than most peoples favorite rapper.

  • Dre on the beat? you can hear the start of the west coast style we got today with the piano chords and shit

  • @peterscoop

nah its DAZ; he produced most of the beats on this CD; a very underrated rapper/producer

  • This album really never got the "respect" it deserved upon its release in '95. Kurupt and Daz weren't as well known to the mainstream population as Pac, Snoop and Dre were, although I think this truly is one of the best albums to come out in the 90's, along with The Chronic, Doggystyle and All Eyez on Me.

I know its already been said, but it really is a shame Daz never got any props for his work on some of 2Pac's albums and he even helped write Warren G's biggest hit Regulate.

  • @kpernod30 ahhh yeah, very true man.. Daz did a fair bit of production on All Eyez. he was a rising star for sure.

  • @kpernod30 fuck it!! THIZ ALBUM SOLD 3 MILLION COPIES N DATZ TRIPLE PLATINUM SHYT..U KNOE WAT I MEAN....

  • @kpernod30 EVEN THOUGH THEY SOLD MORE THAN 2PAC AND BIG AT TAT TIME, UR RIGHT....IT SEEMS AS IF THEY DIDNT GET THE RESPECT IN THE EAST COAST...I WAS LIVING IN NY AT THE TIME.....I THOUGHT BIG'S READY TO DIE SOLD ABOUT 10 MILLION COPIES BECAUSE HE WAS ON TV SO MUCH BUT IT SOLD 2 MILLION

  • one of my all time favorite album

This is Dr.Dre best beats production this and All eyes on me 2Pac.

Man pump this in ur city downtown, me from London been reppin this since i was a kid. real shit.

  • @Darni187 hate to tell u but not much dre on doggfood or all eyes on me...im not sure if he did anything on doggfood and he only did 2 on all eyes on me

  • @BiggTravthaKing Hahaha Dre was the Executive Producer of the entire Dog Food album. Just because he isn't listed as a producer on an individual song doesn't mean he didn't create the beat. Dre is known for making beats that Daz got credit for. No matter who gets the credit... this album was sick and without Dres' influence this album would not exist.

  • @Darni187 Nice Talk Bro!!!!! REAL HIP HOP NEVER DIE!!!! HAHA!!!!!

  • westcoast musik is the real musik

  • @justindavidlake man im only 17!! and I wish I wudve been my age back then!! I luv tha g-funk era....mad I missed it!!

  • @Da90sFunk IM BOUT TO BE 28 AND IM TELLIN YA-------IT WAS THE GREATEST ERA IN THE HISTORY OF OF HIP HOP/RAP....IM ORIGINALLY FROM NYC AND BEEN LIVIN IN THE DIRTY SOUTH HALF MY LIFE. NEVER BEEN TO CALI SO U KNOW THAT I AM AN UNBIASED LISTENER.....WHEN THE WEST HAD IT PLUS THE OTHER GR8 ACTS FROM NY AND THE SOUTH LIKE OUTKAST, GETO BOYZ, WU TANG, NAS, ETC, THIS ERA WAS THE SHIT!!!!!

  • @BiggTravthaKing Yeah I'm 29, these young cats won't ever understand, man.

  • @BiggTravthaKing we was thurr. I'm 28 and no other era will feel G- like we had it . "we roll thck like one time!"

  • @BiggTravthaKing we was thurr. I'm 28 and no other era will feel G- like we had it . "we roll thick like one time" we don't have to stoop we font have tah stoop"

  • @BiggTravthaKing ya the era of hip hop back then was tight! im from LA... bought this album the first day it came out!!!!! 12 years old. murder was the case soundtrack is dope too! outkast is dope, geto boyz are dope but this shit was on another level! Wu and nas are the shit! Wu my favorite, Rza my favorite MC/Producer, you know wassup though coming from LA!

  • @BiggTravthaKing '95-'96 = The Golden Age of Hip Hop. Period.

  • @BiggTravthaKing One of the reasons why this era was as good as it was, is because it still required that you posess a set of nuts in order to get down to this shit.. These days rap is just generalized for the public, and we have accepted those into rap who do not belong, i.e. girls and geeks.. In effect rap became ruined.. In allowing marks to listen to this, rap adopted a bunch of wannabe goofs, and the goofs became the voice of what is now a failed a genre of music.

  • @BiggTravthaKing I agree man. most of the rap that came out after this is crap, especially that last few years.

  • @gook4202000

rap is shit nowadays; I never thought that rap would be at the state it is now

  • @BiggTravthaKing FUCK YEA M 28 AND THI5 WA5S THE DOPE5T 5HIT GETTIN BUMPED IN ALL THE HOOD5....THE WHOLE FUCKIN ALBUM!!

  • The Best era my man ! Not like the whackness that is Young Jeezy and Lil Wayne...

  • @BiggTravthaKing hahaha I am about to be 28 also.

  • @BiggTravthaKing i agree!! thumbs up all you get now is studio gangsters..

  • Damn the way they flow with these tight beats just makes such a clean cutt.. Too bad they aren't makin stuff like this still its all in DA CLub crap now!

  • I still bump this cd til this day. This always was my favs. I think this was their best cd. I was fresh out of high school when this came.. 90's music was the best.!

  • DIS IS DA SONG I WAS ASKIN U ABOUT DA OTHA NITE TONY AT DA CLUB

  • dis album iz tha greatest g-funk album ever.

chronic? doggystyle? i know theze are classic.

but dey nothing on dogg food.

  • One of tha best west coast albums. after this album, death row seriously declined. Still listen to it regularly. Much respect fo 'Dat Nigga' and Kurupt.

  • This is one of the albums that helped me see the world with a different perspective oh lord Dpg

  • produced by dr.dre thats why it is the one of the best album of the west

  • @oharrevelt

Actually Dr Dre didn't produce a single track on this cd, all songs were produced by Daz.

  • @giokandona oke i though it was dre because dre love them vocals

  • @giokandona wen it came to producin...Daz didnt get enuff credit!!

it ended up bein dr.dre gettin all da credit....I hate that lol

  • @Da90sFunk : I cant agree with you more. He produced half the tracks on Tupacs All Eyes on Me!!!!....Ambitious as a Ridah,...Scandalous,...I aint mad @cha,...Got my mind made up,...

  • 90z gold.

  • shak and ren no nd to argue dawg ur both rite. im g nutt ceo and artist of yard down muzik. i used to kill daz in junior high rappin lol. hes a bomb beat maker thoe. howevere Dre has that ear for mixing which i ddnt thnk was THAT important til i put out my first album UNMIXED. MISTAKE! My producer is probably better than Dre And Daz making music (Fade Popadopalis) frm compton. BUT without the RITE MIX it means nothing! peace to both u cats. WEST COAST 4 LIFE

  • dre didn't produce any of the album. He mixed it and that's actually pretty huge in itself. If he didn't mix any of Daz's beats, I can guarentee you that Dogg Food wouldn't have been that good of an album (not to discredit Kurupt's awesome lyrical skills)

  • @ShakaDelic716 um, Dre was co-producer of this album. Daz was still a baby as far as producing is concerned. Please dont argue back, i'm 32 and I own this album since the day it came out, I really hate internet know-it-alls.

  • sorry, but i do have to argue back. Dre was never the co-producer of the album. He MIXED the album for Daz. Look it up, and this info is everywhere. And Daz was not a baby at all as far as producing. He co-produced some of the tracks on Doggystyle. Also, this sound does not sound like Dre's G-funk sound at all. He doesn't use these type of drums.

  • @ShakaDelic716 im looking at the c.d, case right now idot

  • How could you not bob your head to that shit dre?

  • Much respect is due. stay blessed.

  • @ potaka79 that's not a dre beat...that's all daz...didn't you hear dre come on and say back up in you with some of that nigga daz shit...DAZ produced dam near all of 2pac's all eyez on me album...

  • he actually produced 5 out of 27 tracks on All Eyez On Me. most of the tracks were produced by Johnny J. but Daz is an underrated legend production-wise imo.

  • @gripgetter What? do u own the album?????? read the credits u idiot, Daz had lots of beats on all eyes on me, true. But dre executive produced it, geez

  • do you even know what an executive producer is? Dre only produced Can't C Me and California Love (and the remix.) The beats Daz produced are DAZ BEATS! However, they were most likely mixed by Dre, Quik, Soopafly, Warren G, and maybe Johnny J. Use your ears. Do you think Dre really produced any of the tracks on Dogg Food? Do they really sound like the tracks on the Chronic? Daz USED DIFFERENT DRUMS THAN DRE YOU ARE A FUCKING IDIOT! AND YOU SHOULD TRY TO SPELL IDIOT NEXT TIME

  • west coast's finest !

    respect!

  • dre beats are still the shit. hip hop and rap in general is shit now days.

  • damn what happen to music like this now a days music is wack!!! we need shit like this!

  • You right Crunchy, this is prob one of the hottest albums ever!! real talk.

  • In fact you are right, I beg your pardon

The more I listen, the more I love like before

Yes, and I have the CD in my bedroom.

  • @carbonphiber you're a jackass. Why? Because you are like every other east coast jackass, who ALWAYS limit this album's legend by saying things like "great west coast album" or "great g funk album".

    Shut the fuck up.

This is one of the greatest albums of ALL TIME period.

Not to even mention the coast or genre. Biggie and Jay-Z can only wish that they released an album as dope as this.

  • @walterreally hahaha you silly little cunt. i'm not an "east coast jackass" i'm afraid. i didn't limit this album's legend with my comment, which is why as you can see my comment is the highest rated. i agree with you exactly, one of the greatest albums PERIOD, but the fact remains when listening to this cut, west coast is on my mind completely. also, i think Ready To Die isn't too far behind Dogg Food.... just my opinion however.

    (acting like I'm high)

  • I remember when i first purchased their album. I was blown away from the beginning to the end, each track was ill. I'm the type of girl from back in the day where i primarily listened to R&B but i still have my love for rap. Death Row was on fire! I wanna say this was before they signed onto death row but it doesnt matter.

  • I know ya bobbin ya head cuz I can see ya!
