@EverForthright I didn't even know you guys had both, either way I'm still anticipating that album. I' expecting a full cohesive album, ever song you guys have uploaded to your channel is great. I hope it's finally a metal album where I can listen to the whole thing and not skip through half of it. Keep writing good stuff and let people like me spread the word of good music.
Djent and jazz are probably the very genres that musicians love, they are the most clever and versatile ones in music , any musician would instantly love them, they would make anyone reflect as it is full of concepts and cleverness, as Tool music does. Someone as just assembled them in one song, and the only thing you can say is that you don't like it, because it's not metal, hard, or filled with screams ?
Then I must say that you're unable to feel what music is, and that you'll never like it.
ok you faggots. All i meant was that i don't like the sax solo. take it or leave it. I don't care where he graduated from or what instrument he plays. i don't like what he played over the song. just my opinion. ever forthright is still badass, and chris still has bad ass vocals, like i said before. suck one.
Ok guys... i really think that even though i LOVE the idea of incorporating these jazz breaks and sax stuff, i think that they need to get an actual saxophonist. The guitarist and pianist during that break are awesome but the sax (being a jazz musician/listener for several years) just doesn't cut it for me. I would love to hear someone shred some really good saxophone over this. That being said... I'm a huge fan of the band and love all their songs. AND Chris is still once of my fav vocalists.
@joelrulesall Don't be a troll. I was just making a musical observation. Chris is a good saxophonist i just also love jazz sax and would like to have heard some different phrasing. I love Chris's work and didn't mean to offend anyone or sound rude. You're just being rude because you have nothing else to say.
@EverForthright Sry to offend... didn't mean anything behind that. But what I meant is someone who focuses more on just the sax and maybe a more experienced soloist. And once again Chris is the shit in general i so didn't mean anything negative towards him. I love his vocals and have mad respect for him for being multi-talented. I apologize for over-analyzing. Kinda hard not to w/ this music.
@EverForthright Chris is an 'actual saxophonist', if you read from facebook he attended Manhattan School of Music, but I guess you don't have to be a real sax player to study there...
oh man that jazzy breakdown was done so fucking well...i love how you took extreme fucking hype and just instantly chilled it down into a smooth break and made it work.
It's riffs like the first one, that pop up in my head... I have a theory how you came up with it. It was a rhythm in your head, and you put notes on it? ;)
I don't think anyone realizes it but their is a Renaissance happening in the metal world. Metal is becoming more sophisticated and diverse with the blending of Jazz, and Electronic music. Bands like Animals as Leaders and Periphery started this movement, but now bands such as this one, Painted in Exile, Scale the Summit, Cloudkicker, and others are making it a real movement.

i hear you bro, i couldnt agree more on the Renaissance in metal music, with the current djent tones, and melodies layered within it, but i would have to say that meshuggah began the djent, so this has been goin on for some time now, but as of recent became dominant in our metal culture. as far as the jazz involved, the band "into the moat" used jazz and that was a while back, the human abstracts first album used a great deal of classical theory, and even BTBAM incorporated everything!
@BrutalPodSmoker I think this is a guest vocalist from periphery so that's probably why it sounds similar to periphery (one of the biggest djent technical metal bands) but TesseracT's vocals don't sound similar to these?
My favorite bands were periphery, structures, and painted in exile. Now it's you guys. Fucking amazing music. I can't wait to hear more, please keep it up.
@fireboy1510 Haunted Shores, Assimilated Mind Phase, Friend For A Foe, Liquorworks, Cloudkicker, Fleshwrought. More amazing shit, You don't know what you're missing if you haven't looked them up yet.
@sauron610 the only ones I hadn't heard are assimilated mind phase, and liquorworks. i love cloudkicker the most out of those. i'll check out the other 2
Well, just when i thought i'd finally settled on my top 5 bands pfft DICK!
