  • @cjwmmr21 if your related to jayne then ur related to mariska hargitay! have u ever met mariska? i loooooooove her!!!!!!!

  • she looks older than 33...

  • She died the following year? I wonder if that 'breathy' voice of Monroe and Mansfield was deliberate.

  • Jayne and Marilyn had what the other wanted. Jayne had a husband and beautiful children.

Marilyn loved children but I think was infertile. Marilyn was an A-list starlet(now an obsolete

word) but Jayne's talent and exposure was marginalized. Jayne also had talent and

a sense of humor. Marilyn wanted children because of the horror of her own upbringing.

  • just found out this is my cousin ! She is so gorgeous !!

  • She was a total beauty.

This video is sad to watch, since she died shortly afterwards in that car crash.

  • She appears rather intoxicated here!

  • She sounds like Marilyn Monroe!

  • I LOVE Jayne Mansfield, but I LOVE Marilyn Monroe MORE!!!!!!!!!! Even though, my YouTube name is named after Jayne, Marilyn still holds my heart. I just think Marilyn was more well-respected and more well-known in today's pop culture. The main way people Jayne today is because her daughter Mariska Hargitay stars on "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit" as Detective Olivia Benson. But I still enjoy Mansfield and Monroe's film performances. Rock on, Marilyn and Jayne!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @1967mansfield If I had the choice between these two ladies I would always prefer Jayne Mansfield. Maybe MM was the better actress - I don't want decide that - but Jayne had the better body and much more sexual attraction. She was tall, athletic and voluptuous - exactly my kind of woman.

  • @Tommiboy193 Mansfield a better body ????? Mansfield had one an awful flat ass .

Marilyn (when she was in her right weight) had a much more close to perfect body

  • @neneorganico both of these ladies are perfection in my mind...now these size 2 girl aren't even close to being women...I have no interest in pre-pubescent girls...and find it sick that many now deem them an ideal!

  • Yes it was 1966...She was so gorgeous and as said by those that knew her, " She was way ahead of her time." I love being a fan and keeping her memory alive. Thank for posting the video!

  • both Jayne Mansfield and Judy Holliday with enormous IQ s but famous with their deceptive blondie dumbness..studios and their weird public stunts..

  • so so so gorgeous

  • She sounds like Marilyn!!

  • she is pretty tacky looking here but i did read that she was much nicer person than Marilyn and she had children and supposedly was a good Mom so i think she had less neuroisis than Marilyn

  • @thadxxx Marilyn and Jayne had different lifestyles so can't do an honest comparison.

Both were nice to their fans and deserve the respect of movie stars who died tragically so young.

The dumb blond was a gimic by the studio.

Actually Jayne was a straight A student in college and a concert pianist and violinist.

On her "This is your Life" segment she spoke with a known intelligence about music and science and broke the dumb blond facade for a few minutes anyway:)

  • @thadxxx Her daughter is Mariska Hargitay from Law and Order: Sprecial Victims Unit. She was very nice but her career towards the end was based mostly off of publicity stunts. I think she sold herself short on these live appearances.

  • i know i will be thrown under the bus for this, but i actually preferred her to miss monroe. i thought marilyn in her later years let herself go in her appearance and her bouts with drugs and alcohol did not help her appearance, i think jayne carried herself with a little more style and was better looking. fire away, but it's just my opinion.

  • @sailin1934 I think I agree with you. Though Marilyn was a better actress, I like Jayne better as a person and in looks. Though I'm not sure if she was more classy, she did do a lot of playboys and some strip shows.

  • wow!! Now seeing Jayne's face again after so many decades, Mariska has her face! So friggin amazing!

  • Well, do we blame society, culture, the education system, the times she lived in... or hold Jayne herself accountable for what she had become?

  • She's so cute!

  • haha she is just divoone! Simply DIVOONE!

  • this looks more like early '67.

  • She had fallen into total parody by this point. Just compare her first appearance on "What's My LIne"--no baby talk, no little intakes of breath, no silly preening. Just fresh and very, very attractive. Also, fully into channeling MM here...on her appearance prior to this, she was doing "Bus Stop" on stage. This time, "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" She might not have started off really "copying" MM, but that's how she ended.

  • As Monroe matured, she got more and more elegant, Mansfield went the opposite route, getting tackier looking. I wonder what Jayne's career might have been like had she not been groomed as a Marilyn clone...

  • @Hunterunc haha but thats all the fun of Mansfield. She was like a cartoon character rather than an ever pining blonde like Marilyn. You gotta love her bubbly way of floating by her peers, the woman was a genius. She was always entertaining doing these gigs rather than MM who was always so awkward. And you gotta respect that hilarious Marie Antoinette beehive shes rockin here. lol

  • She's pregnant here! she had in october of the same year.

  • pamela anderson could portray her in a film bio

  • Shes too old now for that....Jayne in her day was way hotter.

  • @Dwayne31531 she died in the 60's

  • Oh wow she looks beautiful!

  • She kissed Bennett on the LIPS! Oooh, I wonder what Phyllis had to say about that!

  • va,va,va voom! (as Ed Norton would say)

of course that was all an act. in real life, she was an accomplished concert pianist who gave it up for the easy money. a no brainer choice, i guess.

  • One gets the impression that Bennett blushes easily.

  • Pierre Salinger is the guest panelist -- President Kennedy's press secretary and later a Senator from California for half a year replacing Senator Clair Engel when he died.

  • what year was this from?

  • '66 I think...

  • July 1966, the year before she died.
