Hey, I just got the x4 955 BE and I already have the GTX 460. Most games I have played so far have run amazingly but when I play Arma 2 I only get 5fps on only high settings, I should be able to nearly max this. Do you know what I could do to fix this?

With Xtreme-G drivers I can play this game - with everything at Very high and draw distance at 3500 and 1280x1024 - at 25 - 30FPS.

I have the exact same specs as the OP.

The right drivers can make a big difference.

@sakshamH theyre both bad, get eithr call of duty or battlefield they're the only true multiplayer fps.

i have arma and multiplayer consists solely of domination "coop" - read owning retarded bots. dunno why there isnt a single server running some sort of pvp that isnt the shitty CTI warfare, where one ends up fighting bots anyways but with the added bonus of having to run 40minutes to get there.

Your answer is completely different from mine I bet. Arma isnt about "owning" anyone/anything. Its about a true to life (not in graphics, even though they are beautiful, but in simulation) gameplay. Please go back to CoD with its AA Javelins that fly above aircraft and come down on them from above...lol. Or lock-on AT4s with no backblast. rofl

Dont bother trying to MAx out ARMA II its graphics are beyond anything its designed so you can scale up the draw distance as better hardware comes out. You can set it so you can see everything upto 20 miles away but you will need an Nvidia GTX 800 to have it run smooth maxed. Every other game is not even 500m draw distance. Some ARMA II maps take over an hour to run across.

The studio that made Operation Flashpoint 1 fell out with codemasters they started on Operation Flashpoint 2 but had to call it ARMA 1 because Codemasters owned the name. Dragon Rising was made by a new team that Codemasters set up. The team that made Operation Flashpoint 1 later went on to make ARMA II and ARMA II Operation Arrowhead. They also have another team that adds on extra content for the US Military called VBS 1 & VBS 2.

Stay away from Dragon rising. it's a complete turd.

Arma is the true sequel to OFP. Codemasters just owns the name

but they do not have to rights to sequels nor did they have anything to do

with making OFP. They were just the publishers.
