Beta's shouldn't be kept in too small containers, it's a common misconception. They can also be kept in groups so long as the proportions are right (one male to five females). Female fighters make excellent community fish, and can be kept in very large aquaria. When keeping male's and female's they should only be kept with certain species of companion fish.
Small tanks greatly increase risk of disease and ammonia poisoning and should not be used to house fish!!!
damn couple months ago my Betta jumped out of his tank when i opened the lid up to feed him so i quickly grabbed a paper and scooped him up and put him in his tank and now he's back to formal, my heart that time was beating really fast i thought he was dead but he lived and is still alive.
I remember I had my tanks lid up, and my silver shark lept out onto the carpet lol Had to quickly scoop him up in a spare old food container.
There was another time when I was getting a few khuli loaches from a store and the girl moved the big piece of wood from the tank onto the floor, got my fish then put it back in. I looked down and saw something, turned out it was a khuli loach that must have been sitting on the wood lol I managed to pick it up and get it back in its tank.
Most pet stores sell them in a small container with less than 1/2 liter (1/2quart). They are more comfortable in small spaces. People make comments without really knowing what they are talking about. It happens. Then someone comes along and tries to straighten them out. Thanks :-)
vary random story... my grandmom did all the wrong things... she got a BIG tank with like 3 betas in it TOGETHER... and she put in bamboo..... they died a few weeks later... :|
lol..ahaha..thats funny.. my fish did the same thing too except we have a flower horn or watever u call it..anyways...my brother opened the tank n it jumped out onto the floor..it was funny..lol...

I love your Betta's jar. Your someone who KNOWS how to take care of a betta. Its perfect in size and Im so glad you dont use fake plants. They hurt them so much. People dont understand that they like small areas, they feel safer and more in controll. Good job, and a talented, pretty little betta. =]
@doggyhog123 yeah usually when theyre in big tanks theyre so happy, extremely happy, and they like dirty water BUT it has to be warm! never cold haha hows your fish

@softbagel14 um you still need to clean it amonia builds up and evetually kills the fish besides i had a betta for 5 years in a smaller bowl and he was healthy shows how much you know
He trained himself, we just tipped his container so the water was at the rim, gave the edge a little tap and he took care of the rest. He does it every time we change his water and never jumps out until he is in position.
