  • @xoxjessemxox we are doing the production this year and our teacher says if one person cant do the accent then it sounds off so just dont do them.

  • Gosh people stop being so critical. I thought that was a very good performance. Yes maybe it wasn't perfect but could you do any better?

  • And PatrickLMT is right. This section should be in English accents, and they're not doing bad at all.

  • Okay, Mrs. Sowerberry? Actually, she was pretty good. This is musical theatre, not just singing to be singing. The point is to hit the notes and be heard. She hit the notes, she sure could be heard and she added to her character - the CHARACTER is a "horrible" singer.

  • Oh dear, I played Mrs Sowerberry when I was about 7/8- and I think I was actually more in tune then than that poor girl now! (and I really wasn't in tune...)

  • Mrs Sowerberries voice is painful

  • @EdgarRazorlip I believe that's the idea...

  • this is actually quite legendary, in it's own way....nice job

  • This musical is always terrible lol

  • you do know your feet are glued to the floor?

  • @TheGreeneyedchick ????? what do you mean?

  • @Shangadora i meant you can move round a bit, your both stood still throughtout it all

  • @xoxjessemxox this was played by asutrians.

  • this mrs sowerbury is awful

  • I've always hated Mrs. Sowerberry for how she treated Oliver, but I -for some very odd reason- can't help from loving her in this song.

  • Love this Mrs. Sowerbery, i'm directing this show and this has given me ideas

  • the whole point of oliver is that it's set in the bad parts of london, meaning that you need to SOUND as if you're from there, i.e the cockney accent.

and i read that you guys couldn't train in the accent - but hey, we're all doing it? i'm SWEDISH and i speak with an american accent, and i've learnt how to speak both english posh, and cockey for this play. (i play nancy).

otherwise, i thought the singing was excellent, and mrs soweburrys laugh at the end! INCREDIBLE.

  • mister bumble looks like hes already died! but i love mrs Sowerberry's manic laugh at the end!

I saw Louise Gold in london she was fantastic!

  • good show!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Going to preform this role next weekin mtc wish me luck, last year for my school plays

  • Nope.

  • loved it! great energy and mrs sowerberry has a fantastic character voice well done!

  • Mr. Sowerberry has a terrible fake American accent. lol

  • The guy is western and the girl is....sweedish? what's up with the accents?

  • I think it's great!!!! This musical is very fun!!!

Do you have the other musics recorded? won't you post it?

  • they're german, i think its impressive..you try singing in bloody german

  • uhm mr. sowerberry?

  • ok i playin mrs.sowerberry in a few days in my school musical any advice from anyone

  • this is a really good version! well done guys. works all the same for me. seen alot of musicals around the world,

  • you all should know, this is a SCHOOL

musical from my school and we're austrians!

  • oh my gosh, it's not ruined! we couldn't train our accent to sound like cockney...and we were NO americans! lol

  • @Shangadora Cockney accents are easy..

  • Does the guy know that Oliver! is set in London? ... as in NOT an american accent. The person playing Oliver didn't act it very well I thought...

  • yes he knew it....the accent wasn't part of the show, it was simply there...

  • English accent?

  • haeh? lol

  • Haha shes strange but really great!

  • "Mrs. Sowerberry's" performance is absolutely splendid! And I love how you used the choir in the background - it gives a special touch to the song.

  • Not to mention that it's not even "Dickens's play", technically speaking, as it's a musical *based on* a Dickens novel.

To my knowledge, good old Charles D. didn't write any plays.

  • BEST SONG IN OLIVER!!!!!!

mr & mrs sowerberry in this song r really good!

  • I LOVE this song...and I think so too....the best song =) short, but very special! :D

  • were doing oliver 2morrow! i loved the chorus in the background we should have done that.

  • The guy is a good singer but not a good actor, but that girl is very good

  • I'd loved the ensemble singing in the background- it added spectacular effect.

  • That laugh at the end was great !!! :> It added the right touch!!

  • my special *loool* thanks! :D

  • Your Welcome!!

  • Yeah Charlotte!!!

  • In our play she was their NURSE! lol

  • Oh lol . We haven't done ourplay yet,, but she's not the nurse . :P x

  • In this scene we had dancers. I was on of them we carried the coffin and buried mr. Bumble.

  • type in: "borg st.pölten scene" ;-) there's another scene...with...me LOL

  • I played the role years ago. I had wanted to play Sikes and was rather pissed-off about being cast as Mr. Sowerberry, but I ended up having a great time in the part and a fun physical relationship with "Mrs. Sowerberry"! Enjoy mate!

  • Ha, i have to play Mr. Sowerberry for my school play. Well sang!

  • I played it once. The song was really fun to sing

  • LOL AMERICAN? It was in Austria...*looool* Hahaha very funny view xDDD

  • ...And we didn't want to play an American version baby...xDDD

  • Mr. Sowerberry seemed.....Ionno. To me his expression just seemed more amused and happy, than twisted and morbid like I'd expect it would be. But Mrs. Sowerberry was amazing, although I think the evil laugh at the end seemed a little over done and unneccessary ^^:

    ---

I almost completely agree. But I think she was hovering just above the tone she shuld have been. She shuld have been belting a bit more like she was on her last "No one else's funeral" because her nasaly voice sounded to fake.

  • thank you for your comment. you have to know that the girl was only 16 years old, so belting had been very unhealthy!

  • Yeah. Unhealty for an untrained voice, her's sound's pretty trained to me. Almost all of the girls in my choir can do it fine w/out hurting themselves. Don't get me wrong, this was amazing. I've just become a bit critical sense I first started choir and got into musicals.

  • critical's good, you've to understand me. and I'm happy to read an opinion of someone who knows a lot about musicals and CO (and you do, I'm sure!)

  • well thank you. were you in this?

  • exactly, but this makes no difference. I'm happy about video comments ;-)

  • the musical was made by my school!!!! <333 look to: fame st.pölten....
