doesnt necessarily "hurt" your engine, but it certainly doesnt benefit it either... Its designed to allow more hp from the crank while placing as little strain on the motor as physically possible... look up a diagram and you will see what I mean... Metal moving parts on other metal moving parts, and high temperatures dont mix well, thus we take certain measures to minimize and delay engine wear such as replacing the oil, and using engine coolant, etc... that sort of thing...

SoCoMx309 is referring to the wear and tear that the engine has to endure everytime you run your engine hard... Take the physics and look an an engine (any vehicle)... It is literally built to tear itself apart, not intentionally, but it cant be helped... the thing that classifies engine durability is how much abuse a certain engine can take before it gives up and something breaks... preventative measures let your motor last longer, however they will not last forever... point being: a S/C

Turbochargers will always make more power than a s/c because there is NO parisitic effect on the engine. T/C's however are much more unstable than S/C because of all of the moving parts that make up a turbocharger.

The supercharger is great, but does have its limitations. Turbo's for the most part are great except for the initial cost. I think opinions are like assholes and everyone has one, so lets keep the smell of shit to a minimum.. Just my $.02 though. Bad ass machines either way!

Ford is Procharger and the Turbo is powerstroke for the diesels, dodge they dont have superchargers because turbo chargers are more efficient and make wayyy much more horsepower and torque than your conventional supercharger positive desplacement or even negative desplacement superchargers dont come close to what a turbo charger can offer...
