  • mtnprivy-- veganism is a way to provide the radical change needed to save the humans. Subsistence farming is all well&good and eating ethically, healthfully raised animal products can be done in low-impact ways. THAT'S NOT OUR CURRENT REALITY. Currently we live in a mega-mart , SUV, cheap plastic crap society. Vegans vote with their dollars in a big way. Food is the #2 item Westerners spend on after housing.

  • It is mostly that the Vegans come across so judemental, and not caring at all. When you focus on the miniscule detail and leave out the big picture, then you help noone. People want to feel empowered, and instead of telling them steps they can take, you let them know that EVERYTHING they do is TOTALLY WRONG. Basically, you are telling them that "you can't get there from here." It always come across so us/them, and it doesn't build bridges.

  • It sucks that so much of this interview is used up on the whole Vegan issue which is a nonissue. The best animal products come from grassfed, and what are we gonna do with all that pasture? It just distracts from the issues of overall lifestyle and comes out as nitpick judgementalism. What about backyard gardens and chickens for instance?

  • furthermore,

If you want to see global change for healthier people, animals, plants, water, etc -- DON"T KNOCK the VEGANS. They are doing the best they can. Real environmentalists stick together, help each other, and know that the path to a greener world is only possible if we are all focused on the goal.

  • This is fantastic! Colin Beavan is great =) Thanks for posting!
