@EpicFishFingers - I'd recommend a lower power laser. They're much cheaper, safer, and for a purpose like shining them at the floor, would be more suitable. Even a half mW (0.5mW) red laser would be fine. When using anything over 5mW, try to be careful. Shining them into someone's eyes, even for short periods of time, can cause retinal burns.

Even those $2 lasers, when I use them to play with my cat, it might hit their eye for 0.1 second, or mine, via reflecting off metal, glass, mirror, etc. Will it F!@# up unprotected eyes even if you just catch a quick/accidental glance? I'd assume the more straight/direct the beam, the worse the eye damage potential?

Not true. As the beam from the laser travels, it expands and fades. Just like the way a torch-light does. But the more concentrate and powerful the beam, the more distance it takes to expand and fade into nothingness.

Also YES you can see it in the daytime- (NoT the beam but the dot it makes) I bought mine at amazon .com I did a slight mod to mine. Its soo bright now I CANT turn it on indoors without hurting my eyes.. I just ordered a Blue Beam- we'll see- I stay with green and red is lame as u know..
