Wow...Who can LumpVong like Us Pinor Lao errngg...SaBaiDee PiMai 2010
Sabaidee...Jao...24th Day is specail today...ho ho ho day, That mean hold everything , Hold the Madness n the sadness n yim yim Smile today n Smile & Said "SaBaiDee 4 everyone...Hug Pang Pinor Lao Der.... Khup Jai Lek Sokdee Pimai LHK ^_^
In the poem or in the song could be available foreign words. Worse than this is the changing ຣ to ລ. For me I understand but if someone would like to church for the origin of the word they could not find.
Savatdee is not lao word. It's Thai word. The correct Lao word is Sabaidee. There are many Thai words in Lao song. Lao song composers should have clear understanding of Lao & Thai langages. Many words are the same but so many are still different.
I don't believe so. Sawatdee has been used in the Lao language before, just like how Sabaidee is used in the Thai language.
There is and early 20th century recording of a group of singers from Luang Phrabang. One of the ladies obviously says "Sawatdee" in her poem. If such a person used it in such a period, I don't see how we can't include it as one of our words.
Savatdee is also lao word, but we use it only for written or in the song not spoken. Like Mong (look) or Kung Rack (firt time) we use them only written not spoken.
This song is very old, at least from 1965. No change in the content. Dongdok students liked this very much. They sung and danced at the end of the schoolar seasons. The Lao do not say Shubaay Bpee Mhuy, but Shvuddee Bpee Mhuy. Shvuddee means Good luck, but Shbaaydee means at ease.
awesome! lum vong!, very good song, great voice, specially all the dancers, they were awesome! everyone looks good in this vdo, wow! awesome! really like it! thanks!

If You listen to Khamla Norkeo or Phomma Phimmasone songs, they also sing ສວັດດີໆປີໃໜ່... ສວັດດີ ປີໃໜ່..

Muen Gun (The same)is alos lao word. But when we speak we use Kuae Gun. I think the word " kuae " is also thai, but it means different.
