You import guys. If you didnt know, Cryseler was helping build cars for mitsubishi during 80-90s . I know because i own one Mitsubishi car and it falls a part, because i drive cryseler with mitsubishi logo on it.
@aleksankazakov CHRYSLER never laid a finger on the 3000gt. And they didn't "help" them do anything. It was a joint effort where both companies provided parts to each other. In the case of the Dodge Stealth and Mitsubishi 3000gt both were totally built by Mitsubishi. The stealth was merely shipped to dodge dealers with their logo on the outside.
Replying 2 "yeah but imports know how to go around a corner at those speeds to, vr4 =all wheel steering. When has a American muscle been able to do that. All they do is put a big engine in a car."
This is america you can drift around side streets like NFS dumbass. The all street race are drag races unless your tryin to pull off a Fast and the Furious scene idiot.
gotta give the jap car companies credit for actually throwing TWO turbos into a PRODUCTION car, and somehow still RELIABLE!...well most of them lol.
THATS the difference between domestic&jap car companies.could you imagine if chevy decided to throw a set of twins on the already 300hp V6 camaro?
But they take the easy way out, opt for the 60+yr v8 tech, and if thats not quick enough they throw a fischer price supercharger&hood scoop on it.dont want to disappoint the aging baby boomers now do we?
yeah but imports know how to go around a corner at those speeds to, vr4 =all wheel steering. When has a American muscle been able to do that. All they do is put a big engine in a car.
@ThrowXUP This is america, you can't drift around side streets like NFS dumbass. All street races are drag races unless you're tryin to pull off a Fast and the Furious reenactment.
American companies say bigger engine.. others just say use technology.. perfect example look at the E46 M3 specs then look at a GT mustang or Camaro ss.. they used technology over displacement
Begs the question whats wrong with displacement? I love my VR4 but I'd trade it for a C5 any day (cept in winter!). I raced a LS1 camaro when it was stock and had about the same result but not so bad up top. The VR4 really needs a better set of turbos and fuel.
Nothing wrong with using displacement. i was responding to "amytage".. dont knock foreign companies for using turbos to make power thats just their approach. thats why i used the E46 to a stang GT in natural aspirated comparison. i own a 1993 stealth RT TT and a 1970 olsmobile 442, and a 1988 porsche 944. i appriciate all cars but i love creative engineering better.
and turbo Jap cars are fairly easy to make beast.u must admit they give u alot of lead way, before rebuilding.
Wasnt saying that the Camaro didnt have mods in this vid, just using that as a point to ussee1 cause he sounded like he was saying a vr4 on the street blows a camaro off tha road n stuff. nd i was saying ofcoures it would cause a v6 tt > a stock v8 camaro
wow, someone teach that guy how to work the tree. good thing noone was on a transbrake or that tree operator would be owing someone a new trans. there's supposed to be 1/2 a second from the stage bulb to the lights coming down. that was more like 10 seconds
yeah too bad my VR4 never has problems with american cars. im not saying no american car is fast, just that a stock VR4 will take a z28 or ss stock. the only car i ever lost to was another VR4, but he was the owner of a Mitsubishi dealer.
ya..cuase VR4s are really 'stock'...thats just why they have twin turbos when it comes off the lines..and pretty sure twin turbo / super / pro chargers are called 'aftermarket' parts. all these import places throw twin turbo's on their cars just cuase its what they need to do to really beat an american muscle car coming stock off the line..imo GM should start throwing pro / super chargers in their Zs / SS / Trans and see if these imports still do so good.
then i guess that instead of more fuel efficient turbo charged engines the japanese should toss a 5.7 liter v8 in all of their sports cars to make them fast. if they did do that i can guarantee you that they would push a good number more ponies out of said v8 and mate it to a drivetrain that can actually put it all to the ground. same argument for both sides brotha.
point taken, but look at the engineering stand point, their approach to making power is forced induction instead of increased displacement. really just recently there are stepping up displacement to make power"350z, Genesis,V6 eclipse".. Then VR4's and Stealths were targeted toward Porsches and the Vettes. thats why its loaded with technology..i own one and i have a Aux jack on the factory radio from 1993!! and also look at BMW got inline 6's N/A making 300 plus HP. Thus M3
