I was ready to concede that wearing a burka did reduce, indeed virtually eliminate , rape (see my initial posting to you), though as I said, what a price to pay! However, what I didn't take into consideration was that women in muslim countries are so ashamed of being raped that they almost never report it. Even though it is not their fault they are made to feel shamed and defiled - so they have a double burden to bear. Consequently it is in their interest to keep quiet about it.
Well, I would imagine the burqa would completely eliminate sexual crimes against women! I grant you that. But what a price to pay! There are other solutions to the problem. Its like curing the patient by killing her. It is so ugly and unnatural. Women are like beautiful flowers: they shouldnt be kept away from the sunlight. This dark shroud isolates them socially. The burqa is actually very unhealthy as it helps to create vitamin D deficiency. The sun is the best source of vitamin D & they never receive sunlight because they're only allowed to remove the covering in the home. I suppose some of them will get some sun if they have a courtyard or whatever. Dark skinned women need even more exposure bcuz their melanin hampers absorption. Dietary Vit D is a poor
