Still, I think Bach's Mass is the best of the best. I rate Herbert von Karajan's recording most highly. Look it up on Youtube.

Schubert's last two masses were truly unique. His previous ones, nos. 1 - 4, were too Mozartian in my opinion. It was from here onward that his genius began to shine.
