i don't own a mac but i am looking into getting one because my desktop is slower than my dad's vaio laptop. i am glad your happy with your pricey windows 7 OS. i am stuck with windows xp till the next decade
also i like windows 7 personaly its just very pricey right now. im shure it would clean up my computer alot with automatic defragmentation every 3 weeks but i will hold out for now.
most new mac operating sytems start out at $50. you can buy a family pack for $150 and use the OS on multiple macs in your house. most microsoft based operating systems start out at upwards of $100 then go heywire in the market and reach rediculis prices like windows 7 for example which is still or used to be $140 just for one computer. i have pointed my case now. i dont work at apple and im still a teenager. you can make the switch or go down the exspensive path.the path that microsoft has made

also here is a bold statement. macs can get viruses but it does not happen as often as a pc that has security software.
Not satisfying when it blows your fucking hands into the yellow bits which are covered with other people's dirty shit that's been blown off their hands.
@04smallmj Are you speaking from experience or out of your arse?
The moment you slip the tips of your fingers in, one side will always start up before the other. Then you have to force your hands in place so you don't touch the dirty sides. This is speaking from experience. Every bathroom in my college has one of these bastards.
I like how James Dyson trys to take credit for "inventing" a hand dryer that Mitsubishi trademarked in 1993 and are EVERYWHERE in Asia, including the antibacterial coatings. His "inspiration" was traveling and stealing. But... definitely like using these machines over the cheap "evaporating" style gas station blowers. Sucks to have to touch the dirty door handle on the way out, though! Hahaha.
he could have sold it a bit better - other bonuses are tha 1) you dont need to touch anything so it is more hygenic and 2) the water is caught at the bottom instead of dripping onto the floor
There are no such things as germs that cause illness. That notion is pushed by the industry to scare you. Your body is covered with skin, which has evolved to protect you from filthy bacteria and viruses. The DANGER is putting your hands in your mouth, eyes, or a penetration of the skin. You should not be afraid to have droplets hit your face. You should not be afraid to "touch the sides". Washing hands only decreases the number of microbes, not eliminate all of them. Paranoia much?
How the hell can there be trolling and flaming on a PRODUCT COMMERCIAL? It makes no sense!
Yes, there are people who would be better off with a regular hand dryer and even situations that arise that may benefit from it - this does not mean that they can't still use them! What it comes down to is that this is a matter of choice; if you want a hygienic, efficient, and generally awesome piece of engineering to dry your hands, then you can have it. If you don't, then there are still alternatives.
I find that it often shoots water droplets up from my hands to my face. Also, unless you're extremely careful you're touching the sides (like 99% of the other users). Finally, what if the sink splashed me and I want to dry my shirt or pants? This dryer is ill designed from many standpoints.
I absolutely hate this dryer. If you're not getting water drops shooting up towards your face you're playing "don't touch the sides" like the game "operation" for fear of the germs the many people have left from touching it before you. Dryers that point down are much better for hygeine and use (what if it's raining out and you want to dry your backpack, pants, shoe a bit?).
@hoodman12 People typically don't wash their hands well. They don't spend nearly enough time, they touch the tap afterwards if it's a manual tap, etc. When there are microbes that can cause tumours, why not be careful?
And these fiendish microbes just pass straight through your skin, do they? So why not invent a new type of doorhandle that doesn't attract dirt? People use doorhandles all the time, and barely ever wash their hands afterwards.
@hoodman12@hoodman12 Yes, there are cancer-causing microbes. They may not go through your skin, but you might ingest them during your next meal. And yes, we have internal defenses to these things, but many people do end up with cancer as well.

@hoodman12 That line of thinking leads to luddism. So should we take away insulin from the millions of people who have type 1 diabetes? Should we bother with any safety/health technology at all? If it's okay with you, I'll keep my baby gates up so that the "dumber" babies don't die off quickly for our greater good (rolls eyes).
@newguy33X No, you impossible fool, insulin is specifically designed to assist diabetics! I should know, it runs in my family! The difference here is that this dryer is NOT designed to specifically aid those of us who succumb to carcinogenic microbes, it's designed with the good of the majority in mind - it's called having a wide target audience.
@hoodman12 First of all, I'm not a fool. If you want to throw around "they're too weak to live" statements, but defend a huge group of people who can't make their own insulin then you're being foolish. Technology lets us control a lot of factors that would otherwise inconvenience, harm, or even kill us. Soon enough though, we'll reach the point at which everyone needs an outside source of insulin or some other pharmaceutical assistance just to stay alive.
@newguy33X You've missed the point for the fifth time. Yes, technology DOES let us control these factors. Is this an example of this technology? No. It isn't designed to be. Lysine, insulin, etc supplements ARE.
The dryer isn't very hygienic? Fine. That's your opinion and you're entitled to it. Mine? The don't-touch-the-sides game is fun.
@hoodman12 I won't be talked down to by someone who claims some people are weak and fated to die, while having type 1 diabetes running in their family.
They say it's the most hygenic, and it's not. It's of an impractical design for drying anything other than hands, and you have to cram your hands in and frequently touch surfaces that other people have.
@newguy33X It's called being unafraid. I'm not sure you'd know a lot about that.
Its strong foot is its efficiency, because it doesn't rely on evaporation (which any secondary-school child - take me for example - could tell you is extremely costly in terms of energy, water's specific heat capacity being higher than most common substances). As for its hygiene (and please spell that right sometime soon) well I'm afraid neither of us have any hard evidence for or against it.

These things are awesome, a nightclub in my city has them. Now they just need a full body one for when you get out of the shower and we will have no need for towels anymore.
@DavijoBoy Yeah, tried the Airblade at a nightclub, too. They really are incredibly efficient. And such a simple design; guess that's what makes a good product.

How many times time do you notice a man doing his business in the toilet and then walking out without washing his hands? Is it a matter of their laziness towards hygiene or some form of paranoia to be seen "doing the right thing" with wet hands and a dryer?
Clearly James Dyson is lying through his teeth in claiming he is the inventer of this technology! Mitsubishi's Jet Towel handryer is now in its 7th generation and been around in Japan since 1993!!! I find the dyson to be ridicously loud (85db after some research) compared to the mitsubishi (59db) and energy wise the jet towel uses a 560W motor compared to Dysons 1600W....both dry hands in 10-12 seconds!!!! No brainer

I was excited to try this thing out finally a few months ago. But...
I hate this thing. The blades are too close together & disgusting if you accidentally rub against them, causing you to wash your hands all over again. Also, the thing is RETARDEDLY LOUD & I literally noticed no difference in how fast my hand dried.
@RoboTekno he sure is. he got LAX to spend $1000 each to replace all the dryers in all the restrooms. There's 50 restrooms with 2 dryers each. 100k in hand dryer cost alone and then they still have to be installed. what do you think the union labor to do that cost? standard dryers with motion activation can be had for $300 each. thats okay tho. I don't mind adding another few bucks to my airfare so that people can have the ILLUSION that their health has just been saved.
@tomboi1978 It's ridiculous how expensive they are. I didn't realize how expensive Dyson products were until later. I'm sure the "research and development" and just the Dyson name magnify the price tenfold. I still can't believe the Dyson Air Multiplier costs 300$. It's not even technically "bladeless" in my opinion. He's a genius though if he can get people to buy them, like Apple. lmao
@RoboTekno im going to become an apple user as soon as i can. my windows xp pc is acting like a CRUD!. i use ctrl alt del everytime i use it. you have to buy multiple accesories for your pc like the motherboard, the hard drive, the graphics card, the memory, the ram, the cooling system, the cpu, the power box. once you have all that you need to buy a case for your pc almost every year there is somthing i need to replace like the graphics card. you wont believe how much it adds up after a while

I have this at work. It is complete bullshit. The air blade dryer harbours even more bacteria and dirt. Since the water just drops of an sticks to the walls. When you pulls your hands out it is even more dirtier than before.
The Americans spend millions and millions of dollars designing a pen that could work in zero gravity and also in a vacuum. The Russians already had one....it's called a pencil!
If it ain't broke don't fix it, long live the hand towel!
It is an amazing machine. They are in Dover Downs Casino(Delaware USA) After viewing the commercial, I was so excited to see the machine was availabe for me to try. I would love to have one in my guest bath.
The Dyson Airblade has never been seen on MTV Cribs. I cannot wait to see the first house that has one.
many people have used to a better hand drying solution for years and years and years now... just go to Japan.... funny it looks quite similar in design.
maybe more demanding customers there as dyson had to improve their design of vac cleaners for that market too as the standard uk ones for sure are not good enough... too many detail flaws in the design and functionality.. pity you cant by the Japanese versions worldwide.
Your hands are completely dry in 10 seconds or less. It's very low energy and more sanitary than towel dispensers. They have them in London Gatwick toilets.
This is something I actually wouldn't mind using. For some people it might not be a big deal but I find using towels disgusting and using paper towels annoying. I wash my hands and feel like I'm just wiping as much bacteria back on again.

Whoever invented it, it's a fantastic innovation after years of using one of the most useless inventions ever.

These are the only Hand-Dryers that can dry your hands!

What a load of crap. Mitsubishi invented this years ago. Dyson is full of himself.
biggiepj 3 years ago
try the Mitsubishi original: they dont accuse people of 'drying hands on the trousers' or kimono for that matter.

I have used these at Alton Towers, and they are amazing. The best hand-drying solution I have ever seen.
At £750 though, it will be a while before I put one in my bathroom (yes, I am crazy enough to have one of these in a domestic environment)
michaeldavidsalt84 3 years ago
I would have one too, lol, I hate it when my hands are still wet.
emski02 3 years ago
It is an amazing machine. They are in Dover Downs Casino(Delaware USA) After viewing the commercial, I was so excited to see the machine was availabe for me to try. I would love to have one in my guest bath.
The Dyson Airblade has never been seen on MTV Cribs. I cannot wait to see the first house that has one.
MISSLISH1A 3 years ago
many people have used to a better hand drying solution for years and years and years now... just go to Japan.... funny it looks quite similar in design.
maybe more demanding customers there as dyson had to improve their design of vac cleaners for that market too as the standard uk ones for sure are not good enough... too many detail flaws in the design and functionality.. pity you cant by the Japanese versions worldwide.

Technology? Pfft.
Fancy name, flashy syling, re-inventing the wheel, lifting other company's designs, over-hyped marketing.
Whatever ya gotta do, buddy. You do it well, and the masses buy it.

Well, he did it well. Moreover the bloody thing uses 80% less energy.
So shut the fuck up.
bobobang 3 years ago 2
Your hands are completely dry in 10 seconds or less. It's very low energy and more sanitary than towel dispensers. They have them in London Gatwick toilets.
eheinz 3 years ago 4
This is something I actually wouldn't mind using. For some people it might not be a big deal but I find using towels disgusting and using paper towels annoying. I wash my hands and feel like I'm just wiping as much bacteria back on again.
