One of McGuinn's songs on the album Sweetheart of the Rodeo has lyrics that refers to then Governor Ronald Regan (without mentioning him by name) as being the head of the Ku Klux Klan. Ronald Wilson Regan was a great Governor and an even better President showing how much Roger (or Jim or whatever) McGuinn knows about politics which is the same as John Lennon knew which is absolutely nothing. David Crosby and George Harrison were the same way, total idiots outside of music.
@MrBEB123 That song had nothing to do with Reagan. It was written by McGuinn as a comment on how poorly they were received by Ralph Emery and his audience at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville in 1968.

@MrBEB123 Dude, that song is about Ralph Emery. Joan Baez dedicated it to Ronald "Ray-gun" at Woodstock. A little fact-checking takes like 5 minutes with Google.
He was a good musician however as we can see liberalism which he is pitching here has proven to be a failure. Like many famous people who are good at doing something when it comes to politics they just do not know what they are talking about. Previous generations built something that was working well for society and today's generations are destroying that society with no positive benefits unless you like living in a jungle.
He is now a devout Christian.
