I used Rohirrim for this battle. Put the archers (1 yeoman + 4 elves) on the wall above the last ramp to the citadel and build Rohirrim untill you are out of capacity. Then upgrade them with armor and charge the enemy's assaults with Golden Charge or something like that. When you have destroyed about half their force, retreat and let the archers finish them. Just let them break through the wall, but make sure they don't destroy the second gate and you'll be fine.

I play on hard, by the way.

Hey couldn't help but imput my own strategy for this mission...beaten it countless times on hard difficulty using this method:

Build all farms on every building slot available (destroying the 1 fountain). Wait until Elves arrive (will enable you to create elves regardless of lvl 1 archery) make max Elven Archers, use peasants + the starting yeomen + heroes to kill oncoming wargs (let yeo+peasants die). Once full on Elven Archers make armory + upgrade all with flaming arrows, armor, + flags. gg

I won this one without using the outside walls, just locked myself in the top of the fortress with archers in the inside walls, rohirrim waiting to ran over the uruks in that small spot (the only way enemies could reach me) and the heroes in case they entered.. but they never did lol.

and i don't have those blue circles around my selected units.

how can i use that option?

p.s.: i always use elves only, because they are the best. i let my horsemen, yeomen and farmers die, only to get more command points. i am a cruel commander (lol) it does work, though, and the deeping wall wasn't breached

I played the Helm's Deep in hard difficulty, and without the arrows of fire, in agreement to the movie, and I win. I give you some advices, put some archers under the wall.Use Theoden mount in his horse, above the wall. Don't call the Rohirrim until the orcs are inside of the castle, they are more easy to kill when they are accumulated. AND ALWAYS WATCH THE DOOR, IF THE ORCS BREAK THE DOOR EARLY, YOU WERE IN SERIOUS PROBLEMS
