I actually liked this game until I realized how the reward system works. Basically, you can use whatever strategy you want, except that in order to get the best rank (and the best gear) you have to blitz the goal haphazardly pretty much all the time.
Anyone know if the sequels use this reward system on the psp? If so I'm probably skipping out on them. =(

This game is shit, that dumbass soldier on the balcony dosent even hear her footsteps which even i can hear. then she stares at him for 10 seconds like hes a camper than she uses a special ability. this game is shit. what is actually going on. Theres a tank that carries the worlds ost heaviest shells and needs to aim its turret up to the sky, when the enemy is 5 meters away.
Pure awesomeness, best game on PS3... So pissed the other episodes are on PSP... SEGA, I command you, do the collection of VC2 and VC3 on PS3 like they did with God of War, or do VC4

Valkyria Chronicles is one of my favorite game on the PS3 system. Beautiful art direction, unique combat system.... It's an excellent Sony exclusive title! Like any other JRPG, or in this case SRPG, It's a bit cheesy, and some missions can be frustrating at times, but that doesn't keep me from recommending the game for those looking for a long and worthwhile game.
The game is a strategy rpg. Kinda like a combination of advance wars and fire emblem but it also has first person shooter elements in it. I recommend buying this game it's pretty good.

When your enemy is the one taking his moves, your units would automatically fire on the enemy unit provided that they are capable of doing so with the weapon that they have, and the enemy moves into range. Sometimes, it also suppresses the movements of the enemy moving.

@RottenNinja Keep grinding with Skirmishes, upgrade your equipment to raise accuracy and power and learn the ropes. Remember, Scouts are the best for close-to-mid-range fighting. The Shocktroopers have way less accuracy.

This game has the worst story EVER. Please do yourself a favor and only rent it, because the game play is cool but the story makes you want to commit suicide and kill a baby.
There is virtually zero footage of Pathway To Glory aside from a few low-rez trailers, which is a shame because it's very difficult to convey just how incredibly epic it was for a mobile game and how flawless the battle system was. Nokia even hired historians for their research...
This is probably as close as I can get to Pathway To Glory (manual aim, defensive counter attacks, drivable vehicles, etc). It was released on the N-Gage, so almost nobody played it, but it was similar to this, except very realistic. For instance, a wounded soldier can bleed out, or get killed from range damage, and even the kickback of the gun takes away 1% health. Only a medic could heal a soldier also, and even then, it only stops the bleeding, no magic 100% health restore. Miss that game...

Sure feels absurd listening to the English voice acting, I've played my game entirely in Japanese. But the game itself is one of the best titles I've played on the PS3.

@QuotetheRaven1 I took about 15 (I thinks that is how long it took) turns first time with Batomys, it almost crushed my base when it had 1 lance worth of HP left, then, I thought I was doomed (this was my 3rd try as well) when of all things happened, the lancer Selvaria brings, he missed my Edelweiss and hit batomys, killing it.
I love when something like that happens. Its just one of the things that makes this game amazing. I probably had the most difficulty breaking Jaeger's blockade. That battle took me ages on the first try. It is one of the best battles in the game though along with the clash at Naggiar.
@QuotetheRaven1 Jaegers blockade was easy once I realised only 1 camp needed to be taken (the one nearest where the Edelweiss spawns) and once taken, you save your CP till you get full 20 then pelt Lupus with all the lancers you have, preferably ones like Jann that have the Max Vs Armour potential at level 20.
But seriously, this is a great game and I recommend it to anyone who likes a very tough strategy game. Even on normal difficulty the later levels get insane.
this makes me a ton less upset that I never got the chance to play this, even though originaly would have and many others would not have. (aka I have Xbox360).

The thrill of trying to recover after getting half your squad wiped out when you F'UP makes this game just a joy. despite being turn based as well as cartoonish it's the most immersive war game I've ever played.
According to the designs of the uniforms and tanks, we are playing as mechanized SS nazi troopers against advancing Soviets who are full of rightfull fury. Soviets seek revenge for the burned down villages and burned alive russian women and children; for the millions of deaths caused by the nazis and SS.

@MesserHai Gallia is pretty much WWII german tech with unique, non german, firearms. The Empire is also part german (firearms and uniforms (officers)) while tanks are soviet in most cases.

hardware wise, Sony sucks at making consoles and generally most things.
They make a system that is extremely hard to make games for, with some parts of said system good and some parts unable to cope with the greatness of others. They did this with the PS2 and they will do this with PS4 because they don't understand what they are doing.

It was on my first playthrough. I made a massive mistake which threw everything into chaos. It was ultimately satisfying to win that one. lol.

@QuotetheRaven1 I took about 15 (I thinks that is how long it took) turns first time with Batomys, it almost crushed my base when it had 1 lance worth of HP left, then, I thought I was doomed (this was my 3rd try as well) when of all things happened, the lancer Selvaria brings, he missed my Edelweiss and hit batomys, killing it.

I love when something like that happens. Its just one of the things that makes this game amazing. I probably had the most difficulty breaking Jaeger's blockade. That battle took me ages on the first try. It is one of the best battles in the game though along with the clash at Naggiar.

@QuotetheRaven1 Jaegers blockade was easy once I realised only 1 camp needed to be taken (the one nearest where the Edelweiss spawns) and once taken, you save your CP till you get full 20 then pelt Lupus with all the lancers you have, preferably ones like Jann that have the Max Vs Armour potential at level 20.

@thenextlevel123 This game is many times harder than any Call of Duty game ever made, it's a strategy game like chess on asteroids in short, with an excellent paper rock scissers system between units. The thrill of trying to recover after getting half your squad wiped out when you F'UP makes this game just a joy. despite being turn based as well as cartoonish it's the most immersive war game I've ever played.

Granted, five ROD's is pretty bad luck but you get them all fixed for free and in some cases you get a new xbox back. PS: RODs are uncommon these days and have been for some time now.

hardware wise, Sony sucks at making consoles and generally most things.
They make a system that is extremely hard to make games for, with some parts of said system good and some parts unable to cope with the greatness of others. They did this with the PS2 and they will do this with PS4 because they don't understand what they are doing.
I had a PS1 and 2 and i loved them but got tired of the lies, and an Xbox is still not a who, its a what -.-
