I heard him twice at the Met in the production with Stratas and I loved them together. But this has magic! I remember in his book he wrote that whenever he performed with Caballe he would enter the stage and fall in love with her all over again. He was made for this role!

What a treat! Carreras & Cabelle together in La Boheme. They are so wonderful and sweet together and their voices are sublime, as always!! I find it interesting that Carreras goes higher on the last note in this aria than he does on the same aria a few years later with Stratas. Both versions are beautiful to my ears, however!
