Es la primera vez que escucho a esta banda,hicieron un buen cover,pero no hay como la opening original.

Por la intro creí que la voz del cantante sería mas grave,por lo que me desilusione un poco cuando comenzó a cantar,ya que con toda la fuerza de la música creo que va mejor una voz un tanto mas grave y potente.Sumado a que no me gusto como sonó la batería, también podrían haber bajado un poco el micrófono de la batería porque no se podía apreciar el sonido del hermoso violín...

I listen to a lot of old school bands, and i never heard another kind of band do songs like they did, sooooo i concider visual kei an musical genre.

In this song, the part where the drums are fast, this is very vk for me.

Other times the music and image may be more inconsistent for effect (but I think this is rare). I find A(エース) a very interesting case of Visual Kei. For besides the fact that their music is great to listen to, their visual-kei-ness seems to me like a metaphor for the whole visual-kei movement. To put it bluntly, they're dressed up as pirates; explorers of various nations and cultures who plunder what these nations create and use it for their own desires.

This, I believe, is reflected in their music; as they take musical styles from various cultures and create a rock fusion with them. Indeed, they are extremely talented at doing so! In a way, I agree with vigalure insofar as there was something more definite about the musical style of early Visual Kei. But I think it has evolved into something far more widely encapsulating (as I suggested above). I think it's more than a musical genre, it's a way of approaching music!

That being said, I think a problem many neo Visual Kei bands have is that they just use the visual quality to attract attention and then drop it once they have a large enough fanbase. It's an instrument for gaining attention through nice looking costumes rather than something that interacts with the music in the meaningful way 'true' Visual Kei involves.

Anyway, sorry for the rant, that's my opinion, take it or leave it!

I'm glad what I said makes some sense! I'm pretty confident A would sound VERY different if they weren't a VK band. In my experience (via interviews with VK artists compared to interviews with non-VK others), it is much more prevalent for VK bands to decide on a definite idea/concept/message they want to convey before considering the music. I think it's less likely that A would have come up with the music they now have had they not started the process within the VK mind-set.

In fact, I think I've seen a couple of bootleg videos of them recording stuff as a non-VK band (circa 2004 or something). Perhaps the members were different (or perhaps it wasn't them) but besides the poor sound quality the music was VERY generic and bland rock.

I kind of agree with bling on this one. I consider Visual Kei to be a kind of unique cultural approach to various existing music genres. The visual aesthetics of the band are used to accentuate the message that's being conveyed by the music so the band's performance is both musical and visual. Sometimes this involves the music being consistent with the image (e.g. X's 'psychedelic' phase in image and music; Versailles' aristocratic image with neoclassical music).
