@skalachin Ah,thank you .Not so keen on filming with the D3s to be honest although having the option to record decent quality footage is handy. The D3s is a Stills machine and what a camera it is to use!
Then we can wait for years ;-).. whilst the life around us keeps running. I also had thoughts on waiting until D4 is released, however looking at what cappens today in Japan and the fact that Nikon has shut down its factory in Sendai for an unlimited period of time due to the factory damage. Google "Sendai factory damage". The fact is that Sendai factory, located in Miyagi Pref. was an epicenter of the biggest Japanese quake.
Also there are rumors now that Nikon might move its factory for high-end products out of Japan (poss. to Thailand), so my Nikon D3S might be one of the last ones MADE IN JAPAN..
The last factor is that even if Nikon D4 is launched say, tomorrow, most probably the sensor will have a (much) higher resolution, which I don't need, and it will not serve my main purpose of shooting pix at extra low light (which D3S does fantastically).
So, after a bit of thinking I decided to go for a D3S, understanding that this camera will be covering all my needs for the rest min 2-3 years (until the next tech revolution in DSLR field). In other words, what would be the reason to wait for D4, to get better what ? I can't expect any better ANYTHING from a newer camera, as I am fully happy with the Dynamic Range, Shooting speed, MPx resolution, body durability and ISO performance.
I wouldn't be happy with more pixels, or lower ISO perf, or reduced DR to retain high ISO specs. And yes, I see NO need at all for the expected full HD video function on D4, I'd rather buy a pro HDTV camcoder, although my consumer SONY HDTV does a good job for a mere $1.5 gram.
You look as happy as a kid on Christmas.
