your right arm as you pull the javelin back to throw, you pionted it to the right. keep it lined up going up past you face. keep the javelin traveling straight while in your hand.
This is a horrible tip. Don't listen to this. If you watch any great javelin thrower, they also have the javelin angled when they cock it back. It's because your suppose to hold the javelin back as far as you can while obtaining maximum momentum. Then when you approach your ending it gives you so much more body to throw with. As long as the jav comes out right it's completely benificial.
that was an unofficial throw, i had walked out the wrong side of the runway and the offcial called it a scratch but the guys in the field measured it anyway to see what it was.
I'm thinking that everything technically is fine and with some 1 and three step drills over the winter you could lock out your non-throwing side to max effect and the delivery would flow through the soft-penultimate stride and meet a rigidly braced left-side--- the summoned up force of the approach would ride up and over the front from toe to knee to hip to ribs to shoulder and then spill over in a huge explosion of power>>>> BOOOOOMMM!!!! 60m +
At the moment- if you take a look at the left side (especially from this rear aspect) you see that this side dips downwards and basically robs your power side of much of its potential by easing away at the moment of strike- This is definitely counterable by drilling with the jav ball...
I think that your left arm is excessively passive, to the detriment of the balance and block of your delivery- I would be inclined to work on "hanging your arm out to dry" as you enter the crossover phase, and it is always good to keep your head and eyes on the back of the non-throwing hand during the pre-delivery stride. As you hit the throw the left arm for you should be drwn tight into your left side, elbow into your ribs, fist clenched and to the fore.
I think your technique is reasonably good. You can learn to use your legs better. When you link your lower and upper body together better, keeping your upper body loose, I think you will throw far. Good luck!
if you want a longer pull on the javelin, then you can bring it back farther like you have it. but to me it just looks like you need more speed and explosive power.
watch your vid, the jav should b striaght at all times during your runup. when it comes crooked, you take power off your throw cuz you have to straighten it out. get a usual runup, keep the same thing consistant, aka draw a line, and practice the same runup, you wana run at almost a sprint then EXPLODE hips first followed by ur body then arm last. and leave about 4 feet of room so you can stop yourself. and last dont look anywhere else but down field, pick a target and launch at it
theres nothing wrong with being a rotational thrower as long as the jav is inlined right at the end of the throw as your s was

This style can tend to make a thrower stand up and throw over the top of the pivot.
All this said- I have seen many worse techniques than yours! I am assuming you're throwing mid 40m's (140ft+) at the moment?
