@Alyssabball98 sounds risky for a pug, yeh. Some of them can't even rin for a few minutes without getting dangerously out of breath. Probably depends on the individual dog. Don't push it out of its comfort zone for exercise, for that breed it could be a bad idea.
I just want to thank you for helping me to improve my relationship with my dog. Your videos motivate me and encourage me to try new things. With your help, I have become a positive trainer, making learning fun for me and my dog!
Thanks for sharing this amazing video Emily! It reminds of the guy who works with multiple horses from France (I think). Time permitting I'll post it to our forum along with the event details so locals can make arrangements to attend. :)
I don't have a dog yet, but one day I will. It will be a poodle, so, what kind of person does that make me? :-)
Anyways, just wondering if I was the only person finding the forth dog doing the weaving (at 1:10) a bit funny looking... is it really a dog? Or maybe a small pony? A boar?? Obviously just kidding, but what kind is it???
@MAD151982 Hmmm... that depends on weather you get a standard, miniature or toy poodle... ! Just kidding. I think that the thing you think is a boar is actually a .... poodle!! haha! It could be a spanish herding breed of dog though?
in your opinion, does dog breed stops dog to be intelegent if you are training him? im thinking to get husky but as i searched this beed is hardly trained... im confused... is it posible to train husky some of your tricks? or is it imposible?
@isdykusii No, but I can tell you it would be easier to get a scent hound to follow scents, a sight hound to follow prey with their eyes, a flushing breed to flush, a terrier to kill the rats in your garage, and a border collie to herd... Can you imagine trying to teach a beagle to herd sheep? All dogs can be trained very easily using +R however some find doing certain things more reinforcing than others.
@kikopup that being said my friend has a boxer that herds sheep ... btw Emily I just wanted to let you know that im opening a dog training busniess here in nsw Australia bassed on your training methods just thought you should know now all I need is a name and ideas
@nataliawasilewska97 Not every dog trainer has a border collie. In my area, most dog trainers have mutts, terriers or retrievers. That's unless they are really into agility.
She is obsessed with agility so she owns the fastest breed of agility dogs. I myself have worked with Afghans and the are amazingly intelligent, in fact that is why they seem so hard to train. However any breed with ingrained instincts can be difficult. So obviously, if you dont like a dog that sniffs, don't get a beagle... if you dont like a dog that fixates on birds dont get an Irish Setter... Get a dog that goes with your life style. If you are obsessed with agility get a herding breed
@kikopup I 100% agree! I have mixes and "harder to train" types and they learn just fine. Its all about the trainer. A great trainer can teach a cat, a goldfish or even a "dumb" afghan ;)
I'll have to think about attending this seminar. The Kathy Sdao one in may I registered for was just canceled and I was very disapointed. Thanks for posting this :)
wow, how I wish I could go! San Diego is just a bit too far.....I'd either have to be able to afford a plane ticket or take a week off of work and drive.....

Wow I wish i lived near to it. But anyways, do you think pugs wouldn't do good at running and hurdles with their breathing problems?

@nataliawasilewska97 Because they're so amazingly smart! and they are a working dog so they have a lot of energy. Thats what I think anyway.

@nataliawasilewska97 Why the sad face? I urge you to find someone with a border collie and ask them if you can train their dog a trick!
