  • This is the song composed by Rob Hubbard on SID, the sound interface device of Commodore 64. Hugely great synthesizer chip.

  • The NES's z80 powered sound couldn't hold a candle to this.

  • Amazing piece of art with a game tacked onto it ;)

  • @SquareWaveHeaven I never much bothered with the games where Rob Hubbards songs played. I just loaded them up to listen to his music.

  • LOVE IT!

  • As a kid, this music left me spellbound.

  • This isn't the same version that was on the Amstrad CPC 64 version of Spellbound, i prefer that one.

Brings back memories and shiver down my spine playing this game once again on an emulator!

  • The fantastic music of Rob Hubbard never ages. It is simply Divine!

  • This is awesome. Never knew the guy's name.

I agree with many others that the main reason I kept coming back to this game was the music. My all-time C64 favourite music. I can listen to it over and over.

  • oh my god, this music is awesome, I can still remember it after 25 years... insane.

    thanks for the upload. rate+1

  • wow love this never did beat this game though but always loved this music!! so good

  • you know I never did finish this game. Anyone brave enough to upload a walkthrough lol

  • @TheBoozeFairy I have an edited longplay on my channel that I nicked from the Spectrum and added this music to it.

  • At first I was skeptical, and then it just blew me away..

    AMAZING!

  • Rob Hubbard is just so fantastic ! Love his musics !

  • magic knight games were the shit, hard as hell and lasted for ages

  • Brilliant, never did complete it.

  • All time fav for sure

  • hey can someone upload the longplay of this game please. ANYONE!! Thank you.

  • classic. one of my all time favs

  • I never saved Gimbal the Wizard from his out white spell, too hard, the music got me back again all the time to try. Damn Samsun and Oric the Clerik...

  • Loved the music for this game, the game freaked me out as a kid, kinda creepy, didn't stop playing it though !

  • My all time c64 game music favorite - but the game was too difficult!

  • You can download the sid file for this. Then there's a module for winamp - something like sidamp to use to listen to sids.

  • Still sounds good, even today!

  • Cool music, have you got the Knight Tyme music as well? that was my favorite

  • ye i do, ill get it up asap :)

  • Curse this game... It used to have me hooked for ages, and I'd never ever get all that far before running out of health... Same with all the White Knight games, but always kept playing - Especially loved the music.

  • yes but it wasn't white knight, it was magic knight.

  • @RopeDrink

I always loaded this game from tape just for the music, I never mastered the annoying micro-managing of keeping the sleeping people alive. The wand of command atleast made it possible to make them sleep and be still. The glowing bottle was the health drink, if you gave and then took it from the first elf you saw it kept you alive, and the teleport pad was useful, as I left it where the first elf guy was so as to teleport there when health dropped. The spells were hard to fathom too.

  • @Simpson654 Nobody on the planet could get through this game for the same reasons. I was amazed to see that there was a Spectrum longplay of it (complete with ending) that I was lucky enough to find and upload.

  • @RopeDrink um, dood, this IS a white knight game! its the sequel to "Finders Keepers".

  • I never said it wasn't a White Knight game.

  • @RopeDrink no, you-- ohhhhh, sorry, i misunderstood you.
