Hey man, can you please provide an outline of what is required to turbo a stock IS300 motor? I have read a lot on this, but in your educated opinion, how much horsepower can be safely withdrawn from the stock motor with a kit + tune? what reinforcements are needed for the motor?

@TheUtube4ever 350 to 400 to the wheels is pushing it. U will eventually blow your motor, clutch and tranny. It's a luxury sedan no meant for that kind of power. Build the bottom end with a TT Block and pistons and rods. If you are looking for more than 400 to the wheels you will need to change a lot of parts.

@citopz theres a shift kit u can do to the original tranny which will hold up decent power and pop hard. I am a manual tranny driver and like it more that an auto or the girl paddle shifters nowadays.

To enjoy the car anything over 600 is pointless and no fun. Ask me how I know. I've had them all all MKIv supras, MkIII SC3 IS3 and they are fun up to 550whp IMO. 1000hp is just a dyno queen and not efficient on the road unless you running slicks. Whatever you end up doing be safe and inbox me whenever and come hang out with the clublexus crew.

@chefboyardee54 A small turbo running 8lbs with decent fuel management should get you there. You don't have to do internals or tranny, but u might run into problems later.

@TheCarlitosReef 2003 is a good year, it came in 5 speed manual and full leather. The 01 didnt have an armrest and only came in auto. Great car for years either way. I have been running boost since 2002 in these cars. my 03 hold s up nicely.

@enhance408 like a 6,000 mod. I bought my getrag V-160 new and had lance install it. It's not easy, you have to custom make a driveshaft and the one for the Supra is too long. the tranny new will run you around $4200 and the parts and labor after might put you at $6,000, depending on who you have to do it.

@rolliepollie94 I only heard good things from SRT, but I never have been up there. Lance Ho Lung built and tuned my car. I can vouch for him and Machines Gone WIld in Miami. They put out monsters. Really solid fast cars. The work ethic and time spent is quality.
