Hi, easy question: I want to watch TV with the home theather sound. Can I set it up in a way that, every time I change the volume, it send the command to the home theater and don´t to the TV?
Sure. You can go through the setup once again and at one point it will ask you if you would like the volume to control either the TV or the home theater.
One thing - xbox360 the biggest scam in history. Microsoft just shat on all the ones that paid money for a piece of junk that breaks just after it's out of warranty.
You can make the remote work with any device that works IR. Either it does support it by default, or you can have the remote learn the codes from the original remote.
Hi, How well does it work with the glass doors shut on your cabinet? I have trouble with my standard remotes reflecting the IR signal off the glass door and only works when pointed very straight at the device????
I don't have glass doors, they are perforated steel on which it works just fine. I don't think this remote would solve such as issue but you could always try using an IR repeater/extender.
Just bought the Harmony 880. I'm trying my best to like it. But just don't like how the buttons feel. They're too flush with the remote. I love the design of the H One so much better!
Thank you for posting this video you have answered a lot my of questions just from viewing it. I still have one though. When you push the button to "watch TV" doe's the TV have to be on stand-by all the time for this function to work? I own a Panasonic Plasma you can not turn the TV on via the remote (unless it's on stand-by) you have to physically push the power button in order to turn the TV on. Correct me if i am wrong but I think LCD's are always on stand by?
I didn't know they still made TV's with actual On/Off switches. But yes your're right, the TV would have to be on stand by in order for it to receive Infra-red signals from the Logitech remote, as with any other device.
It will turn up the volume on whichever component you set the volume control for. So in your case there would be no problem with setting the volume to control your amplifier as opposed to your TV.
The setup is simple but the first setup might take a couple of hours depending on how many components you're looking to control and well you want the remote programmed (personalized touch screen buttons, icons for favorite TV channels, button sequences and so on).
I have a Yamaha RX-V1800 (i think you have the same one but i couldn't tell). With the Harmony One, are you able to use the remote to also change the different sound settings on the receiver ?
You can change ALL settings with the logitech remote. Remember that any function that's not on logitech's database can be learned as long as you have the original remote control (via the learning feature)..
That looks really cool, I'm definitely getting one of their remotes. I can't quite decide between the 720 or the one though. The 720 is good but the one just blows it away. The price tag shows that though.
I have to say I love your choice in music as well ;)
Sure can. You can program it to either turn devices off or leave then on when switching to a different actvity. This is what makes the controller so great; it's flexibility. Btw, they have a new device on the logitech website that allows you to fully control the PS3 in case you weren't aware that the PS3 has no support for IR.
Good video! I have a question- You have programmed the remote so devices are turned off when you change to a different activity.
Are you also able to program it so it doesn't turn your devices off?
For example- I might be recording a show on the PVR and say I want to watch a Blu Ray, will it turn the PVR off and switch to the Blu Ray Player?? I like to flick to see whats on tv when I am playing PS3 occasionally
Thanks for posting a nice usage video, everything else I found was mostly reviews.
To anyone considering buying one of these, once you go from having remotes that can only toggle things, to having one that is state-aware (knows what state each device is in), it's impossible to imagine going back!
I had the same concerns as you before buying the remote, hence why I decided to upload the video. The coolest part is that you can make this remote do just about anything such as introducing a sequence of buttons into any activity (if doesn't have to just turn things on and off at a time).
what AV amplifier was the one you were using, and when you displayed the current playing song on the remote's screen, was this your amplifier connected to your home network?
Yamaha RX-V3800. And yes, the remote you saw there at the end if the Squeezebox Duet which is a network music player which was streaming CD quality audio (FLAC format) from a laptop and being fed to the receiver.
Thank you, you just answered my biggest question - what happens when the TV is already on and I've been playing XBox, but now want to watch a Blu ray? I wanted to make sure it wouldn't turn OFF the TV as it would already be on at that point.

if you press the volume up button on the remote, will it turn up the volume on the tv or the Amplifier?
I have my tv on mute and have my surround sounds on so theres no echo, also how easy was it to set up all this?
