Further, the referee does not cross his arms/wrist which is the signal for an unplanned injury. Also you have to wonder why Manny continued to wrestle in Puerto Rico when its biggest promoter was supposedly ''killed'' in this clip. Lastly, why didn't the wrestlers kill Manny later on when they had so much time to do so?

Why did Manny work the promotion for 2 more years?

If they knew it was going to happen ahead of time, it wasn't a shoot or revenge. It was business. And after the first one, he should have rolled away before being killed (which he wasn't, somehow).
The most commonly accepted story is that he chugged a mixtue of pig's blood and vodka, then made himself projectile vomit.
It wasn't a shoot though. Manny wasn't even arrested. Even Gonzales who was a local star was arreasted and face a murder trial (though it was a farce of one) when he killed Brody in (alleged) "self-defense".
How could a foreigner try to kill a local and not only walk away, but be promoted by them for the next 2 years?
Ian rotten wasn't arrested for Mike Leevy. New Jack wasn't arrested for all the stupid shit he did. Brody wasn't arrested from all the shoots he did on dudes. I am Puerto Rican and I lived personally that moment. Invader III was born in my town. Those hits break some internal orgasms and he tried to comback ti the ring. But he never was the Invader III of the old times. the invader who kills Bruiser Brody was Invader # 1, not the invader on this video, this is a different person and its necesary to estipulate the diference between they. Actually Many Fernandez and Invader III dont have personal hardfeelings or bad feith.
I think this was worked. If it had been real, police or event security and other guys would have rushed the ring right away to restrain Fernandez. The ref wouldn't have just stood out of the way giving the "throwing out the match" signal.
As gruesome as this was, it was an effective way to take some heat off the feelings about the Brody murder.

Manny Fernandez, being close friends with Bruiser Brody, used this as a 'receipt' for Brody being stabbed to death in PR over a booking arguement by Invader #1. Someone in the arena had to have seen the attack or know something. And the fact that no one said anything at the trial and that fact that Invader #1 was aquitted is why that happened.

This was a spot with the intention of showing American wrestlers that another American wrestler had taken justice in his own hands to alleviate the tension after Bruiser Brody's murder. After Brody's murder and due to the resulting American wrestlers' boycott, WWC went on a prolonged slump and was never the same. Actually, this was an angle for TV, that lead to a match between Manny and Invader #1 a week later. Invader #3 (Johnny Rivera) needed some time off from WWC for touring in the U.S. and to heal some ongoing injuries.

If they knew it was going to happen ahead of time, it wasn't a shoot or revenge. It was business. And after the first one, he should have rolled away before being killed (which he wasn't, somehow).

The most commonly accepted story is that he chugged a mixtue of pig's blood and vodka, then made himself projectile vomit.
It wasn't a shoot though. Manny wasn't even arrested. Even Gonzales who was a local star was arreasted and face a murder trial (though it was a farce of one) when he killed Brody in (alleged) "self-defense".
How could a foreigner try to kill a local and not only walk away, but be promoted by them for the next 2 years?

Ian rotten wasn't arrested for Mike Leevy. New Jack wasn't arrested for all the stupid shit he did. Brody wasn't arrested from all the shoots he did on dudes. There was an infamous display of lack of professionalism in japan after being knocked out. He ran around being dudes up yelling "no one potatoes me!"
It was obviosly set up as a storyline. Stop going back to that as a basis to everything i.e. "try to kill". The only action in despute is the "vomitting" or excusion of blood.

None of those things happened in Puerto rico (and YES New Jack was wanted by police when he stabbed the guy).
You can't compare PR to other places. And agian, look at what the video portrays. this is worse than any "shoot" Brody supposedly pulled off. The guy is gushing blood and gets jumped on 2 more times (and neither he nor anyone else tries to avoid it). It's a classic wrestling work.

Yeah, I looked into it further, and turns out, this took place months before Brody was murdered. III was injured in a match and they wrote this angle to explain him being missing for a few months.
The rumor of this being "revenge" for Brody's murder seems to have come from Manny himself (those wrestlers . . . always "working"!)
Most wrestlers have recollections of their careers that are a mix of fantasy and blurry memory, but Manny really comes up with some whoppers.

I think this was worked. If it had been real, police or event security and other guys would have rushed the ring right away to restrain Fernandez. The ref wouldn't have just stood out of the way giving the "throwing out the match" signal.
As gruesome as this was, it was an effective way to take some heat off the feelings about the Brody murder.

Hey Neo718, this was in fact a shoot injury. Manny Fernandez, being close friends with Bruiser Brody, used this as a 'receipt' for Brody being stabbed to death in PR over a booking arguement by Invader #1. Someone in the arena had to have seen the attack or know something. And the fact that no one said anything at the trial and that fact that Invader #1 was aquitted is why that happened.

This was a spot with the intention of showing American wrestlers that another American wrestler had taken justice in his own hands to alleviate the tension after Bruiser Brody's murder. After Brody's murder and due to the resulting American wrestlers' boycott, WWC went on a prolonged slump and was never the same. Bruiser was a wrestling God and WWC was the greatest wrestling organization ever. Both died the same night...

This actually is on a site called Wrestling Gone Wrong that tells the full story. He really was trying to kill him, but failed to. Invader III is alive but lives in pretty much constant pain. The reason for so much blood is due to his lung being punctured by one of his ribs.
This was not a spot, trust me.

Actually, this was an angle for TV, that lead to a match between Manny and Invader #1 a week later. Invader #3 (Johnny Rivera) needed some time off from WWC for touring in the U.S. and to heal some ongoing injuries.
amd Reguarding Invader#3 being in pain, it's true, but it's because of some injuries. He does some spot appearances in the indie circuit in Puerto Rico, and made an appearance or two for WWC last year, in the function of an enforcer.

I believe Invader 3's name is Johnny Rivera. He used to be a crappy wrestler who always lost his matches. Once he started using the "magical" Invader mask he became a champion (tag team if I'm not mistaken). I remember a KFC promo where they would give a poster of the Invaders (1 & 3) when you bought a bucket. Funny!!
