If there's ever a president who is working against the best interests of the United States of America, I haven't seen one other than Barack Obama. I think this is outrageous. I think Obama's a Keystone Cop. How's this for a headline? "Rejecting Keystone Pipeline Obama Blames House Republicans." He did. Isn't that a shock? Somehow Obama reminds me of this Italian cruise ship captain. "I tripped and I fell into the lifeboat." Man-up Obama
EVEN FUNNIER is the fact the river that guys pointing to (platt river) a friend from central city (near grand island on the platt) that WORKS up here said that river is a dry run river(very shallow, very prone to drouts, and is nearing exinction) Not some torrential amount of fresh water. And thats from a guy who lives there. he said "look how well LAKE MEAD, in Nevadas working out for us".The thousands of EXISTING pipelines we have, have probably already started the pollution cycle anyhow. ;D
And even if for some reason i can't think of, it doesn't go through. We sell it over seas for a higher price. And perhaps even shut down our pumps all together. Now, with your TOTAL CRUDE BAN from Iran, and other saudi countries selling u oil at RIDICULASLY high prices, and soccer moms are paying $8 a gallon, and this time your banks CAN'T bail you out. then what?? Win, win for us. MAJOR ECONOMIC DISASTER for you. Seriously tho! NONE of your banks can bail u out anymore.NOT EVEN UR TRESURY!!
So really it doesnt really mean shit to canadians. Compare the two countries future economies on your own. If you come out of it still thinking Americas "ok", then maybe stop going to school in Kansas. At the end of the day Transcanada will all most for sure still go through with it, AND on the same route(with of course the blessing of your own petroleum industry) Just to stick it to your STUPID PATHETIC CORRUPT IMBREED REDNECK political practices. You will see. The good ol' dayz r over.
US economy unlikely to fully recover: Carney Calgary Herald - 10 hours ago"Canada needs to look beyond its southern neighbour for markets because the United States economy is unlikely to ever fully recover, Bank of Canada governor Mark Carney said Sunday."and you still dont even want jobs for a project that at the end of the day is , with fairness on both sides 98% safe/cheap/reliable and something to help your HORRIBLE economy. All your living off is Lockheed, Warren buffet, and a few others.
"Exon made more money last year than any other company in the history of money." yet their economic power is a drop in the bucket compared to those 535 men in Washington. About 10% of their 2010 revenue was profit or $30.4 billion out of $383 billion. Congress spent $5.9 trillion in 2010. That is 15 times the power of Exon. It's also worth noting that Exon paid $21 billion in taxes in 2010. So the government took almost half their shareholders money.
So now the oil from the oil sands is sent overseas (oil spill potential) and will be refined in Chinese refineries that pollute more than those in the USA and burned in factories/cars that pollute more. Proud to be an environmentalist myself but can anyone explain how this makes sense to cause more pollution from the same oil?
this is a huge mistake to reject this pipeline. you tree huggers are not very wise for this you just fucked your own countrymen. If things keep going the way they are our government is going to go down.
@vonraderjohn So what's your point? The oil will be shipped overseas anyways. And who cares if China buys the oil instead of us? What we should be doing is focusing more on alternative, renewable energy sources.
Would the US rather get its oil from the middle east? What should be considered dirty? Environmental damage or human rights abuse? Like it or not, the US is very dependent on oil, and will be for the foreseeable future. I would like to see that change, but it will be a slow process. Love from Canada
Talk is cheap. The Obama deception continues to dismay and disillusion. The slumber and apathy of the typical 'mainstream' TV viewer is a sleep leading the world into a ditch filled with billionairs content to live in their pristine enclaves, safe with their armies of cops. It's an absolute that the public must force the president's hand, as they did with FDR in the 30's.
I can certainly understand the apprehension of a spill, but the fact remains that there is a spider web of pipelines crossing North America, it's how oil and gas get processed and available for one to use. If the US doesn't get their oil from us, they will get it from Saudi Arabia and Venezuela, but not before its shipped in tankers across thousands of miles of ocean. Thus not only would the carbon footprint be larger, but historically the worst spills are from tankers.
What about the aquifers, or the HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS OF TONS of carbon that would be released if the keystone XL pipeline was built? If you support this pipeline, you might as well poison your child, because you obviously don't care about their future.
Farmers regularly pollute the groundwater much more than the 200,000miles of pipeline already in the ground in the U.S. Someone should tell them to trade their tractors in for a Ox and plow or stop using petroleum...hypocrites. What fuels their machines? What fertilizes their crops?
please tell me where the oil came from to power your computer and keep the lights on? Look in your room - you are wearing clothes manufactured by oil, brought to you by oil, and kept clean with oil. Your bedspread is a synthethic fabric - made by oil... I can go on and on and on.
To all those reading and posting comments please step up and do some thing that you feel strong about such as helping in one way or another those on occupy wall street anywhere in your state. BE THE CHANGE BE A ROLE MODEL
This man is a horrible liar. (obama) Give jobs to the jobless, you mean force labor don't you? Why don't you give him clean water instead? What do you say Obama bin Laden? Can you provide a man with food and water instead of a life of mundane labor? A life of cruel debt? And stress? And the crime that spins off of the insanity of the illusion of money? Give us back the land you thief.
It's incredible how much the prospect of Keystone XL has united the environmental movement in recent months! Now with Occupy Wall Street as well, there is so much energy in our favor right now. Let's only make that momentum grow stronger!
@connorhocking not everone's in on your movent im not how is oil dirty when we us it to make soap what would the world be like with out oil a dirty hole
@connorhocking Hey tell me hippie, do you want to dig up the other pipelines criss-crossing the Ogallala Aquifer? Im talking about the ones already running over it, carrying crude oil, shale oil, and natural gas? What do you think of that? Do you enjoy your high price of gas? Would you be saddened if we simply shipped our oil to China, and left you with Venezuela and Saudia Arabia to deal with? We all know how stable they are, and how well liked you are in those nations!
Some oppose EVERTHING!!! oil pipelines, power plants, solar plants, windmills that hurt birds, ocean current underwater windmills that might harm fish, anything to do with coal, natural gas fracking, EVERYTHING... Tell me I am wrong? They oppose freaken every form of envergy known to mankind. Everyone please live in a cold house and bike to work while not cooking any food due to no energy source that is acceptable to them. Or use imaginary biodegradable pixie dust? Yes...
Great video-Thank God that we had the power to stand up against this monstrous and evil fossil fuel industry, and lets hope that with the spirit of God, that we can be able to defeat this greed and bring a new start, a new energy grid that will be safe for the generations that come to this planet

So far, all I hear from the anti-Keystone people is "not in my backyard".
Canada is going to pull that oil - and if we don't take it, China will.
