That or whatever mechinism that gives Megamen the ability to copy weapons is strictly temporary. And the armor is either destroyed in battle or Light programs it to self destruct as a "security" measure to prevent its misuse.

oh I am also a Sonic fan and Megaman and and I AM A HUGE ZERO FAN, when I saw Zero made it in Marvel vs Capcom 3 I was so happy that I wanted to tear, It was to good to be true and Zero is my favoutrite and BEST CAPCOM + Video game character of all time, imo Zero IS HANDS DOWN THE BEST MEGAMAN CHARACTER EVER CREATED AND THE BEST CAPCOM CHARACTER EVER CREATED.

I have the comics for megaman x1 and the battle when x was battling sigma he actually basically got chopped to pieces. And when he gets the armor its like a 2nd layer so if his armor gets destroyed he can change back to his original

When at the part of the wheel gator stage where you see the heart obstructed by spikes, take a hit from an enemy, and wall jump on the spikes while invulnerable to get the heart. You don't need any power ups to get it.

so whenever Mega Man beat the final boss (Sigma, Wily, whoever) he no longer needed the weapons he recently acquired so they went away... though that doesn't explain the disappearance of the white armor, though they may be linked

If I remember correctly the reason Mega Man doesn't carry his weapons from game to game is because he was designed to be a robot of peace and the power absorption thing was how he helped Dr. Light around the lab (by using the absorption ability to become proficient in using the tool) and when the power is no longer needed it goes away (so he couldn't become too powerful, rebel, and then enslave all of humanity)
