This was the first album my parents had of Lainies, they played it every time we had company,Love her version of "peel me a grape" and "i loves you porgy"someone should really post these two classics by Lainie,my copies are so worn ,shes the BEST in every way,love ya Lainie but you already know that!

I've always thought that had she not been burdened by the Streisand connection, Lainie would have been one of the top recording artists of our time. This song is a perfect example -- it's been recorded by everybody and his uncle, but no one can touch Lainie's version.

Well, you know being Babs's understudy was no small task! Kazan understudied for her in "Funny Girl"! I agree with you about her career, I fell she was somewhat underrated as were a few others! Her singing style leaned more towards that of Judy Garland, of whom I believe Kazan admired very much! Watch as many of her performances on the "Dean Martin show" as you can find, you see what a talent she was and still is. She excels in comedy roles to! She does have a very large following.
