  • What happens is the 2nd yarn will twist around yarn 1, and then yarn 3 will twist around the first 2. Before I did this, I would just wind the 2 or 3 yarns together and it never failed that it would get caught someplace. By twisting them, it acts like yarn that was twisted and good for the machine, or even for hand knit as well.  Hope this helps.

  • Hi, could you tell me if the cone created that way (winding 3 different colours) comes out like any other bought one (as if it was one yard only) or when knitting the three yards are not perfectly bound and rolled up? I've got lots of self-coloured wool that I'd like to merge in order to create my own cones... Thank you very much :)
