You know what's funny? I had a dvc30 with an mk1 screw, which i sold awhile back. I bought a Flip, stepup ring, and an Opteka baby death.

People think they are good because they have a big 8 year old camera with a handle, but the reality is these little Flip HD's visually out perform them, just because they are genuine 720p.

Let the haters with a $1000 obsolete MiniDv cams hate. No matter how "dumb" we look filming, we will have better quality videos, that are easier to capture and edit.

Yeah i see, but if you actually take the time to properly put a step up ring on that flip, and a decent fisheye, it's actually very nice.

@Tehyamz yeah, but if you want to actually edit your videos, and you have windows movie maker and not imovie or sony vegas then you have ot convert the videos form your flip which decreased the quality. in my opinion flips are only good for long lens shots and family videos etc. i wouldn't recomend it for filming skating. simply because of what i just said and the fact that flips often get stereo typed for being "gay" etc. and no one wants to film with you. trust me i've had a flip.

@paraseledskates I use Avid, and with the right settings and decompression, you can get perfect captures from a flip. Especially if your uploading to a site that allows the 60 fps to be utilized.

And back to what a i said, people that stereotype them have no idea what they are talking about. Especially if they think the vx1000 is still a good camcorder, it may have a handle, but its older than most of the little posers that use it.

If you film to look "cool" then idk what to tell you.

@Tehyamz flips do not have that good of quality i had one and upgraded to one with way better quality. The only ok thing about the FLIP is that it has a good auto focus. I have manual and auto which is good but flips have horrible quality compared to a vx1000 which is more than 8 years old

THE FISH EYE WORKS ON THE FLIP... I DID IT TODAY... ALL U NEED IS A STEP UP RING AND A .43x fisheye lens that fits into that step up ring

All you need is a step up ring other wise know as a adapter that is a 30.5 - 37

and you can buy a "Baby Death Lens" for it which is a 37mm fish eye. just take the step up ring and glue it to the flip and screw the Baby Death or and other 37mm fisheye into it............. kevinrocksatbass has a video on how to do it on a Flip Mino.
