The main reasons for their extinction was poaching because they were seen as a pest by farmers and the introduction of dogs and rats that passed on diseases.

Dingoes have been in Australia for way longer than European settlers and the tasmanian tiger went extinct around the same time we came over.

thylacine, was a carnivorous marsupial. the closest relative to the tasmanian tiger is the tasmanian devil which is also a carnivorous marsupial.. the reason it has resemblance to a canine ie (wolf) is due to convengent evolution: which is when organisms not closely related, evolve similar traits as a result of having to adapt to similar enviroments. good video dude.
