Annete showed up to the show at the last minute in that moo-moo. NO ONE expected that- she's been going through some hard times. Her voice was much better the last time they played a real show in NYC a few years back.

Thank god there was nothing from the first 3 albums, they suck!! I can't say more than 6 good songs from the first 3albuns... Angels fall first has 2 good songs, oceanborn has 2 good songs and wishmaster has 1 good song...

Seem to remember before the new singer (Anette) was announced and i browsed the nightwish videos, the standard comment (on Tarja) was:

1. She can't hit a note live, perhaps on a good day

2. You can't hear a word she singing, due to the accent.

3. What's up with the yellow mic

4. She dances ridiculous, she shouldn't move

5. Operasinger, i thought this was metal, how gay

settlist is really poor.. although i wouldn't like to hear her singing stargazers or sth.. maybe it's best she doesn't sing the first 3 after all (they're my favourite too). but i understand you wanted sth remarkable. but you must have been enjoying her outfit, though, so it's not that bad ;)

@popas7 And by the way, at lots of concerts there are some people yelling curses (fuck you, you suck etc.), and they are also sing extremely loud in a false voice when they are drunk, but despite all of this, I have never ever seen Simone from Epica, Tarja Turunen, Sharon den Adel from WT or any other guys leaving the stage just because of these things. One thing' s sure, Anette doesn' t get the nerve for what it takes to be critised.

@martinahrovat Hahahahahahhaa! Even Tarja did sing Stargazers a few times, it is such a difficult song on guitar, piano, stings and vocal! And the thing about Anette is that she doesn' t have a clear character on stage, and her dressing style doesn' t fit for music! And once I saw that she cried at a concert because she heard the word of some haters. Come on, Tarja was once attacked on the stage, but then she stood up, and continue singing as if nothing happened!

then to the singer: pretending Anette cannot sing is as ignorant and subjective as glorifying tarja to be the world's best opera vocalist.

Sorry, I'm not in the band, so I can't say whether Anette has more problems than Tarja. To pretend, someone is inferior to another one is nothing more but respectless, I think. You can't compare their both singing techniques, btw. Either you like it or not. You truly don't have to listen to Anette's singing but why can't you accept her as a person? Singing songs in another way they were sung originally is NOT a crime.

I was at this concert on Saturday. They sounded great but I was a little disappointed with this concert too. Anette does have an amazing voice but I don't think it fits this band. And what the hell was she wearing? She looked like Britney Spears as a cave woman. And she doesn't really have a rocker stage prescence. More like a wedding singer.

As far as Anette's dress goes, it's very fashionable at this time. I saw very similiar dresses at high end department stores just today. I like the way she dresses--she's herself and doesn't to be anything but that.

I've never seen either live, but I have all the albums, including DPP. I liked Tarja, but I also think Anette is great with Nightwish. After a while the operatics got old. I prefer Anette's voice overall.

In the studio you can do all kinds of tricks with the vocals....DPP is great, I don't argue that, because tuomas is great...but Anette has zero stage presence...see both Tarja and Anette live and then you'll have an informed point of view....no hard feelings....:)

I am a fan of Nightwish since 2000, but never had the chance to meet them. However this week I've met Tarja (on Wed), Tuomas and Marco....I went to this show because of Nightwish, but now I see they are not the same and they are in evident decline......at least in 2007 Anette tried to sing old stuff too....now, they simply ignored half of their career....this was my last Nightwish show, I promise.(unless Tarja comes back)

Does anyone remember during Wish i had an angel when Emppu went to the left side of the stage and knelt down right at the beginning? That was when he pointed his guitar at me and signaled for me to take a pick. Everyone around me was all like "Ïve never seen him do that before!" I was so happy i cried.
