  • lol servants

  • @mattj4554 I think "attendant" or possibly "steward" is the word he was looking for. Also, I'm really impressed by the en suite bathroom!

  • kewl vid dude....always was curious wot amtrak gave u for sleeping. thanx!

  • I think i am going to throw up. OP u did what they did in the 50's and 60's with a new super8mm camera..THOSE lame pans and scans...Relax mary...slowly turn into the scenes..DONT try to show everything at once...Say..if you cannot be a tree..be a bush. but your video is a CF..U are asking what is a CF? COLOSSAL FAILURE!!!

  • I am from the States and like trains. My French spouse was fascinated by a first class Amtrak train ride in '94 but for the shoe polishing, the guy berated me. The food was horrible, so we brought our own. First class was also iffy in Italy but I did Orient-Express which was perfect. I would do Amtrak again but again would bring my own food and drink. I am not picky, but really, that stuff was inedible, and the staff were all out nasty in '94! I went from NYC to Cleveland Ohio and back.

  • how comfortable was it to sleep in? was it clean?

  • I was amused by getting distracted by a San Joaquin train :)

  • doe amtrak have classes like first class.. second.. or third ???? if they do im gonna scream

  • @AmtrakKid1 no they got rid of that feature

  • do the windows open at all?

  • @minkyblack windows do not open !

  • how was the bedroom to sleep in? was it noisy at night?

  • Wait they seriously shine your shoes? I might ride the amtrak just fir that feature.

  • Riding a train is cheaper...simple coach seats are 60 bucks a piece tell me what airliner will give you ROUND TRIP tickets for that price...nobody. If you're taking a long trip on a train of course you're going to want to have a sleeper room..Airplanes you can't move around at all besides going to the bathrooms trains you can :-)

  • @BloodyRosesx No, it isn't. It is cheaper for me to fly Southwest from Little Rock to New York than to take Amtrak. Even a destination like Chicago, which is on the same route for Amtrak.. costs $190 round trip from Little Rock. That's just for coach seat.. if you do roomette it's $600 round trip. That's what makes me sad, I would love to take an Amtrak train for a weekend trip or something.. it's just too expensive!

  • @protegechris It does get pricey ... I just booked myself for a trip in June from LA to SEA on the Coast Starlight .. about $800 but I fly back to Calif.

  • @hpcwsd I got inspired and I'm going to take a trip in a few months with Amtrak. Washington DC to New York is $45 one way.. New York to Chicago is $100.. chicago to Little Rock is $90.

  • @protegechris have a great trip !

  • Cool but why pay so much for a train ride and bedroom but yet you get to your destination later than a flight which would cost less?

  • Very well done. Thanks. I am taking the auto trian from florida to virgina aug 1. This helps some.

  • Great video!

  • What's the difference between a bedroom and bedroom suite?

  • @secret1service bedroom suites are 2 bedrooms connected by a sliding door like at a hotel

  • I Wisi can go on one of those trains that would be so cool

  • Nice vid ! One day I want to ride Amtrak. Across country. no real destination, just pick a train and go. I want to "see america at see level." as the old Amtrak commercial said. Thanks for sharing your awesome info. !

  • @Snapcane wow your an idiot

  • @themccoy500 Please explain.

  • What a cutie, thanks for the info! Were there dining options? I've seen some Amtrak "restaurants" or dining cars if you will. Do you know which trains have those in addition to the private sleeping accommodations? Thanks!

  • Could you do me a favor and spin the camera around some more please. I haven't finished puking yet.

  • @snapcane Quit whining

  • @Libertarianette

Why don't you mind your fucking business. Wasn't talking to you.

  • @snapcane Nasty vile person.

  • @Libertarianette If you don't like it don't read the comments. You're the one the replied to me first. Why don't you just stick to your self help vids and grow some thicker skin.

  • @snapcane Why don't you exercise a little class you keyboard warrior.

  • i want to ride amtrak now lol

  • lol you sound so young. Great video!

  • That is pretty informative. Thank you for posting that.

  • have u gone to Seattle

  • Dude you gave more info & showed more than Amtrak themselves....appreciate it man!

  • nice tour!!!!!

  • I think you covered it all. I was just pricing some routes and was considering a sleeper. This was the first video. I'm glad I watched it. You didn't leave out a thing. Nice work. I hope you found the climate control before Chicago.

  • I like riding the train. I've been on the one that goes from New Orleans to New York, usually go from New Orleans to Gastonia, NC where my girlfriend lives.

  • Definitely fancier than the sleeper cars in the mongolian trains

  • Hey , do you think it would be cool to make the trip from Atlanta to Denver ?

  • Thanks...great job on the video. We are going on our first train ride and your video was the best tour we have ever seen. Great job, see if the travel channel has an opening :-)

  • And also, Amtrak nixed the TVs for those of you who have been wondering. They were last seen in Viewliner Bedrooms.

  • The little locked cabinet he shows during the opening announcements is where they keep all the spare soap bars, toilet paper and such for your room. You pull the "Pull to call" switch and the car attendant will come to open it for you.

  • what things do they not aloow and how much was that room?

  • koolio im going in 1 of em soon gonna be funntastic!

  • how much did this cost about? 600 800$?

  • Thanks for the awesome tour! I hope to take the Auto Train next April and probably get the bedroom. This is the best tour on YouTube.

  • Is that a Superliner II?

  • Well done that boy!

  • so no tv?

  • Did you ever find the climate control?

  • Actually the server is called the porter.Just to let you know.Great vid!

  • is this the coast starlight?

  • Not sure what kind of camera you are using, but if you add a wide-angle lens, these videos of tight spaces will look much better.

  • Is this the Superliner Roomete, the Family bedroom or the Bedroom?

  • @funstuffaweek Chicago, but due to floods we the train terminated in Denver.

  • Great video! Thanks for showing such great detail.

  • @Greywolf3 You're welcome!

  • This is a very detailed video, thanks for posting. I'm taking the Southwest Chief in June from Chicago all the way to Los Angeles and feel it's worth every penny to have a bedroom cabin with it's own shower ... total comfort!

  • great, very informative video, we have a bedroom on california zephyr and look forward to it. thanks for posting video

  • I usually ride the Cardinal 50 and 51 between HUN and WAS. thanks. I will be riding a viewliner roomette in late March. Thanks for this informative.

  • Your welcome!

  • good video. nothing wrong with it. im debating whether to get the roomette or this size room. (this size is $300 more)
