Well, for one thing we have an incredibly greater, in fact incomparably greater ability to imagine, invent and create. We have the capacity to circumvent any and all undesirable animal like instincts and rise infinitely higher in consciousness. Every stitch of technology came from the invisible qualities of imagination. Animals also have imaginations, but on a woefully lesser scale.
@christophercredit What is intelligence? A statistical measure of an IQ? Humans have strengths with which those they have become accustom to. An isolated human baby that manages to raise itself has as little capability as any other animal without the introduction of a language, math, or science. Whatever you might claim intelligence to be, other species naturally excel in other skills that humans naturally cannot (vice versa). We are as competent as we are ONLY because we were raised this way.
@AriaMichellee Intelligence, is defined as the degree in which you are able to manipulate the environment around you. That being said the more stimulating the environment, the more a human being is able to excel. No other animal can do this or even come close to the degree that we can.
@steeldragonx we can also rationalize, and we have a sense of self. humans can sit down and wonder "who am I? I am a human. This is me" whereas 99.9% of animals can't even recognize themselves in the mirror.
We are also spiritual and have a sense of morality, conscience, and reason -b the list goes on XD,
Yep that is the difference. Animal intelligence is wired into their brain at birth, which is why they can raise themselves without any prior learning. However, this makes their brains very limited. Everything is instinct to them.
Humans have instincts too, but we can go against these instincts, unlike animals. We can think above and beyond, reason, & wonder, where 99.9% of animals can't even recognize themselves in a mirror lol.
biologically we may be animals. mentally/spiritaully, we're not.

the definition of animal is fucking idiotic definition 1:A multicellular organism of the kingdom Animalia
definition 2:An animal other than a human
thats like saying the word love can mean 1. to deeply enjoy someone or 2. to hate someone
so neither sides are right of course humans are animals but in a sense (in the context of semantics) we're not

What would we humans do if monkeys started making their own factories and producing stuff just like we do. That would have been wierd and fun.
