  • I see they replaced the Cyclones with a couple Steinways

  • what happends if u hammer the acceleration?

  • That's the exact B-17 I saw on Wednesday. Tail number and all.

  • very nice!

  • Need to bomb the guy playing the piano.

  • Aggravating music.

  • nice music. great aircraft!

  • The music wasn't exactly bad, just inappropriate. Great vid, otherwise.

  • chin gunner!!

  • they sure were paranoid about that plane acting up before and during takeoff, especially since they fly it everywhere!

  • Nice instruments, guess good old pilots of the b17 would have preferred the garmin gns430 for their missions :-)

  • Watch the cowl flaps!

  • Great job! I have 30 minutes time left seat of the Sentimental Journey, 23Z. Very honest airplane, but heavy on the controls. It's a rudder airplane...kick it then roll it. I cannot imagine maintaining formation while heavy and watching flak going off all around you. Our greatest generation!

  • Mag on 1 and 4. That's a heck of a qual on multi for an AC that old. I'd give both my nuts for flight on a B17.

  • @camp69 I'd gift wrap mine for em'... lol

  • The B-17 can be my personal airline anyday...

  • Absolutely wonderful. Too bad we don't have enough of these beautiful ships to sustain some more 'Aluminum Overcasts". God Bless you guys...

  • Great video except for that STUPID piano. Why would anyone put that junk over a video of a B-17. We want to heat the thing not some goofy lounge piano. Is the video anywhere without the piano??

  • how much? and for how long?

    id love to catch it!

  • The Aluminum Overcast is in Centennial Airport right now, it's leaving soon though.

  • Vid so good.. Piano so bad. I miss the sound of the aircraft.

  • @rail64 the navigator plays the piano on the B17 ... standard take off procedure ... morale, don't ya know ... after the last bomb is dropped, then, they drop the piano.

  • This reminds me, a couple days ago, me and my friends watched as one of these flew over. It was flying low enough and slow enough that we could see the rear gun position pretty damn well. It's amazing to see one of these relics from the ground.

  • Why the piano ?

  • Great footage, such an amazing aircraft, part of me wishes I got to fly these in the hey-day. I just hope i get to fly in one before they are all gone

  • @motoalchemy I got to fly in one today, it was awesome. Google libertyfoundation and go to the site about the Liberty Belle B-17. It's schedule is on there so you can see if it's going to be anywhere near you, and a phone number to book a flight.

  • That was the fastest engine runup check I've ever seen! Our checks in the HC-130 took a few minutes, and we did it every time we started.

  • there is a B-17 Flying fortress on blazing angels /PS3

  • I'm not so sure it is the same B17s used during WWII, as I didn't see any gun turrets in this video.

  • @vampiroangelico are you blind ?????

  • that music was so annoying

  • i wanna fly! :D

  • Great vid, I love hearing the radio talk. We rode in this plane this past fall, it's an experience of a lifetime that's for sure.

  • great video. i took my first flight last week. its an amazing plane

  • Wow, I'm jelaous... :-(

    They sure look amazing, man

  • thks for this. we moved to the midwest from H Ranch a few years ago. We would often see, and hear, this airplane go over on weekends and it was quite a treat. It was pretty nice to see it from the inside too. Was that Chatfield under the bomb site?

  • A shame when the NY warplane museum sold off Fuddy Duddy!

  • OMG they did? to who? That bird used to fly over my house once in a great while. Loved seeing it a Wings of Eagles

  • If memory serves me well, they sold it to the Confederate Airforce, with condition they occasionally borrow it back. They put a lot work in that bird!

  • I've been a pilot for over forty years and this is my favorite airplane. I'd give almost anything for a ride in one.

  • this is a expensive toy ,great for xmas

  • classic

  • we saw this same B-17 today in Romeoville, IL. My kids wanted to take a ride in it. Great looking and sounding B-17

  • Wonderful! What a treat! The cockpit looks very cramped.

The movies always make 'em look bigger!

  • Cool that you have the radio comms and the run-up/mag checks for the engines, awesome!

  • when the top turrent if firing, how did the gunner not shoot his own tail?

  • he put it between his legs

  • Those B-17s are so beautiful now it is amazing to imagine how terrifying it would have been to know at one time in history it would have been like to have them over head and dropping bad news down on your head.

  • amazing, what a plane!!!!

  • Great Vid!

  • The coolest video on youtube. Thank you for showing that! The commentary was the best. I'm not sure how you got it on there, but it made the video for me!

Only thing is I would have loved to seen every bit of it- unedited. The music was a great choice for your video.

It's funny, it's been almost 5 years since I've been to Denver, driving, not flying, and I remember how flat the east part of the city was, but I looked at that, and thought the Rockies would be a little more rocky than that.

  • I had to land behind the "Nine-0-Nine" on my FAA checkride. That was interesting! "51A you're number two to land 35R you're following a B-17 on a close-in left base caution wake turbulence".

Nothing like a little excitement for your last checkride landing!

  • Beautiful. Thanks for sharing. Thanks for maintaining such a wonderful machine.
