Aside from Richard Carpenter on backing vocals and electric piano on this track, it also features two other great musicians, Byron Berline on violin (fiddle) and Greg Leisz on the pedal steel guitar.
What is wrong with his voice? It has a gentle yet slightly raspy quality. Really nice and fits the song like a glove, as far as I am concerned! I've been a musician for 20 years, by the way. :) Also, Richard Carpenter himself provides background vocals on this one as well. How can it get much better than that! To me, the piano is etherial on this one, especially from 2:42-3:00...some of the passages are reminiscent of the intro to "Bridge Over Troubled Water" and that is a high compliment, IMO.
well, he's not a great singer, technically speaking, but his interpreation does convey the spirit of the song, and also the snapshots are just mesmerising. I liked the intrumentation approach better, and I guess that's Richard at the piano.

This is very average but I'm happy to see he's still using Carpenters style overdubs
