  • not guys is not just the cap.. what about the crew ????? the captain were not alone doing the evacuation every body were working together ... all of them are heroooooooooo!!!!!!!!! not just the captain...

  • My dad was on that flight, so we got to see he plane when it came to Charlotte a few weeks ago. There's multiple giant holes in the fuselage, its truly amazing how they all survived. Im so thankful to god and the pilot. GO SULLY

  • this is a TRUE hero, not someone who just signs up for the military & never sees action of saves someone. A hero is a person who saves lives, they throw around the "hero" term too much these days. This pilot is the epitomy of what a hero is & is an example of where & when the term should be used.

  • Wow! Wonderful people. what a team effort. all of you rock!!

  • Welcome to Sea World.

  • Oh look, Humanity.

  • 1/15/2009? DAMN TIME GOES BY FAST!!!

  • Now, everyone can swim

  • Within 3 minutes of door-open, first boat visible to pax (anti-panic). First boat grabs pax in less than 5 minutes! Second boat on-scene in 7 minutes. Five-plus boats in under 10 minutes.

    TREMENDOUS RESCUE RESPONSE!!!!

  • That is one of THE hardest thing for a plane to do without breaking up. God daymn. That pilot has balls. Amen to that dude!

  • I'm wondering just how did a plane that size, going at the speed, hit the water and not flip over or disintegrate? It looked like it was just going on a leisurely cruise down the river.

I'm no aviation expert, but the common sense outcome of this I'd expect is to see the plane break up into a million pieces.

And I'm kinda proud to see how NYC and the surrounding area handled this. The landing and rescue went so well and so professionally that you'd think they do this shit all the time.

  • @JapanForSale its because captain sully was a professional glider pilot so he had knowledge as to land this

  • @JapanForSale It is very VERY hard to be able to pull something like that off with out disintegrating the plane yes... especially with the speeds planes go, but he just goes to show that if you know how your plane works - a bit like a car driver, or a horse rider - you know how you can manipulate it to work! He got the perfect angle :)

  • @MaguireWard The planes are designed to hold pressure, so as long as there's no breaks in the fuselage, it will act like a boat for some time. (If the seals in the lower luggage doors are in good shape anyway)

  • In addition to saving everyone on board's life, the pilot was also completely calm in this situation. That really shows something about the guy. He showed no fear of death, and spent all his time working on a solution to save everyone on board. One minute spent panicking and this could've ended way differently. Hats off to you Mr. Sullenberger, you are a true hero.

  • Amazing Landing. Each and everyone of those passengers should count themselves lucky that the Pilot was as cool as he was from years of experience and emergency training. Kudos to the Flight Deck and to the rest of the crew for getting everyone out of the plane so fast.

  • I'M ON A PLANE MUTHAFUCKA DONT YOU EVER FORGET

  • @kfor47 he is just saying the pilot was brave and didnt lose his cool in a pretty much a no win situation. Relax.

  • @kfor47 Wow you're an idiot...

  • Amazing video... thanks for posting.

  • how lovely. Let's all sail on a plane now!

  • New yorkers...there's nothing they won't toss in the river!

  • Its like a fairy orgy

  • lol! "we hope you had a pleasant journey, for your information your luggage is fucked! please enjoy your stay in the river :) and we hope you fly with us again."

  • What are they throwing into the water, when they're getting on the boat at 5:05 ??

  • @chrismerrell life jackets

  • How scary is that imagine being on that plane gosh

  • it just shows how brave this man was, I mean he was sooo calm I would be screaming my head off if I was in that position, he could of killed 155 people if he was not qualified enough :)

  • imagine,.,. if all people in hole world were like this in terms of helping,.,.

  • this video shows what america is all about ,there is someone in distress and people jump into action to help out,no fucking "official" like Cop's or TSA in sight, people helping people, iam proud to soon be an american

  • @Hoschi0913 you are a son of a bitch. We hhere in germany are all reall nazis and we fuck you in world war 4 hahahhahhahha son of bitch

  • @wurmschen03

Weisst du was Holllywood heisst? überleg mal...meins echt gut. USA hat deutschland gefickt. Unser land ist verdorben .

  • @wurmschen03

  • It's impressive how quickly the ferries and tugs made it to the scene, from this footage it looks like the crash site was swarming with boats within only a few minutes. Hudson River's probably one of the best places to ditch if that's your only option- protected water and plenty of help floating around. Pun intended.

  • You see people, you CAN get out of a plane faster than you think! I have to wait ages for everyone to do the hokey pokey one by one

  • Comment removed

  • Hero Pilot.best piece of flying ive ever seen.Saved alot of lives.Birdstrike is very common and a bitch.

  • It's the good ol' American made by Ford no doubt about it....

  • @UKsuckMyUSMarineCoCk yea...... right....

  • @UKsuckMyUSMarineCoCk Fuck the marines you bastard.

  • lucky passengers they had such a skilled pilot.Quite amazing

  • What gets me is that a couple of the passengers on this plane tried suing the airline. One of them citing that they "...hadn't been complete since nearly dying". As if it was the airline's fault birds flew up in the engines. How "complete' would those passengers be if that pilot hadn't the balls of solid rock and the knowhow to land in the water without the plane breaking up?

Hat's off to this pilot. Absolute hero.

  • @WrathConstantine Probably jews that wanted to sue........

  • @WrathConstantine You'r right.. if it was another pilot they where all dead now... ripped apart!!! So I don't know why they even care.... there safe and still in 1 piece:S that pilot is a hero..and the co pilot even more...he came straight out of training and he exactly know's what to do!!!

  • iam glad people ok but..... what happended to the plane?

  • @ashomaker601 It was towed to the riverbank and recovered.

  • They all seem very calm, it looks almost fun.

  • Thank you for flying 1549 Sea Airliners, we hope you enjoyed your flight!

  • Typical NYPD , over ten minutes and no help at all. Thank God for all the fellow NYers that came to help. The cops in NYC show up for the photo shoots that's about it.

  • ALL safe ! good job Captain

  • hope that engineers will put the airplanes with an airbag underneath of it, so it wont sink..

  • Absolutely fabulous to see so many other boats coming to the rescue...just shows there`s a lot of good folk out there when a truly life-threatening situation suddenly arises...restores my faith a lot in human nature - great stuff!!!

    Stuart (Scotland).

  • awww what if there were pets on there :((

  • damn he missed newark by like 10 miles.. noob

  • would the aircraft not sink ?

  • The aircraft didn't sink immediately because the aircraft is fairly lightweight and fairly buoyant seeing as though most of it is hollow. This will only work if the water ditch is performed correctly and the hull stays intact.

  • holy crap, for a second it seems like that boat drove up onto the wing and ran over all those people. scared me

  • why would a plane crash in a river.

  • @IgnitedChaos

Better a river or ocean than the ground.

  • It'd be real interesting to hear the maritime VHF comms concerning this incident. You think they're available anywhere? Like from USCG or an amateur scanner? I've been searching for a while.

  • i hope these guys got a promotion

  • @TheBeljah he quit

  • i would think that the plane would sink faster

  • I love all the help from the people.5 boats came fast.

  • 14 jews dont like the pilot :P

  • why did this thing crash anyways? i dont remember the original cause

  • @565Customz a bird flew into the left engine

  • @565Customz i think it was because a bird flew in th engine, damn suicidal birds...

  • @xpatto99x must of been muslim

  • @xpatto99x yup birds have always been sad, thats why some always were black :L

  • @565Customz The plane went through a flock of birds, both engines were damaged and had to be turned off to avoid causing more plane damage.

  • The crews on the boats are amazing, they just raced out there with what seems like very little concern for the boats...one of the small boats looked to be partially on the wing of the plane at one point....it shows the willingness thats still in human beings as individuals to help one another.

  • I didnt see anyone useing their seat as a flotation device. lol

  • are those fool trying to swim to shore? if not, they should have.

woulda sucked tho if they made it alive just to get robbed and stabbed by some jersey crackhead.

"i made it! i survived a plane crash and just swam 500 yards in freezing cold water! im alive!"

"hey buddy, gimmi yer money" [shaaaaaaaank]

  • @YouFailEpic lol i bout spit my milk out.

  • The plane didn't crash as it has a small prop engine in the bottom of the plane. It generates enough power for the airbus to glide for a few notical miles.

  • @ObsidionX no, the wings provide the lift that enables the plane to glide, the RAT provides power to essential instruments when the engines fail.

  • @icannotfly exactly!

  • @ObsidionX - no, the plane has a small prop (technically a ram-air-turbine or RAT) that's used to spin an emergency generator to provide power for the avionics and control systems. The propeller is powered by the wind. The RAT slows the plane down a little which makes its gliding performance worse. Even so, it was deployed for this incident along with the auxiliary power unit (APU).

  • "doooon, this is captain speaking, if you would look to your right you will see a body of some mobster recently thrown into the river by some new jerseyans. further to right you'll see a car driven into the river for a insurance job. also performed by some new jerseyans. and to the rear you'll notice that the plane is friggin sinking so if you woul be so kind as to take your dumb ass off the wing and get into the liferaft it would be a great relief. thank you for flying Airbus....dooooooon."

  • epic landing. FTW

but epic fail on the dudes that jumped into the water right after the door was locked. what a bunch of pussies. the other side had the raft dumies. i can imagine them pushing and shving peple out of the way so they could get out. fucking cowards. help the women and children first. but its kinda funny how they all chilled on the wing for a bit, had a picnic and some inflight peanuts while they talked about the two idiots in the water.

  • Crazy there is not a boat there in 30 sec...? When the ferry gets there, are those life vests being thrown around? Happy meals?

  • you are now free to move about the river

  • AMAZING THAT PILOT ROCKS :)

  • That person who got off the plane and just jumped in the water... that would be me.

  • @libertybraves are you serious? I thought no one jumped off

  • Beautiful landing.

  • apperintly ur a retard...google it

  • yea your right the whole time the captain could have just hit the eject butto-OH WAIT

  • Good jerb!

  • @wedge173

Pretty irresponsible statement. Check the statistics. Boeing airplanes had successful water landing long before anyone ever heard the word Airbus.

  • This Video was brought to you by the engineers of Airbus. :)

  • schwein gehabt

  • Astonishingly well done by everybody. Great operation. To keep cool, calm and collected is the most important thing - although easier said than done.

  • NIce job by stewards..they were ready for evacuation on time.

Good to see that Airbus builds also strong planes...

    If BoeIng...ain´t SURVIVING.

  • It's turning because one engine got ripped off in the landing so there was more drag on the side with the remaining engine. (The left side or in this case the port side or airport side if you prefer. HAHAHA.)

  • Fake? What kind of moron are you?

  • Have you ever seen a river? yes? do you understand how a current works? No? are you hadicaped? yes? ok nevermind.... Its real very real everyone survived the pilot is a master of his craft...

  • then u must b thick!

  • its from a full motion security camera. They move all jerky like that you nimrod

  • first succuessful landing in water ?

  • no, the first successful landing of a jet aircraft was a Tupolev Tu124 into the neva river in the year 1963...

maybe russia was pissed about americans getting the first man on the moon, so they decided on this x)

  • the rescue boats were faster than any 911

    call for help

  • I thanks u so much pilot 1 of my friend were on this plane u save is life ! thanks u so much ! and good job :)

  • Fantastic landing from Pilot...he saved life of all people

  • fair play if i was on that flight i would shit my pants and scream like a girl....woman and children first, fuck that!

  • Why would you do that? I think that situation was difficult enough even without a shit in pants.

  • @rich43434 That's because you are a pansy scoundrel prick.

  • WOW! Customer is King in the USA.

Ferry-Flight is getting a whole new meaning.

  • did they throw life jacket into the river after getting on the boat? not enough life jacket on the plane?

  • what are all those things their throwing when there getting on the boat>?

  • Live vests.

  • the pilot should be givin a life savings of money since he saved the lives of all these people. God bless you brother we love you so much for what you did.

  • Ein dreifaches hoch auf den "Air" Busfahrer !

  • thats possible^^

  • is solid snake in there!?

  • It was Sully, yes. But it was the rescue effort provided by the flight crew, ferry pilots/crews, EMT's, ect. that made this the miracle on the Hudson River.

  • God, that pilot is f'ing amazing!

  • yeah right

  • haha as if!

  • Comment removed

  • did anyone die

  • no, i don´t think so.

  • When did this happen...?

  • In december '08, but I don't know the exact date.

  • "The video was recorded on Jan. 15, 2009, by a Con Edison security camera on Manhattan's West Side."

    It's in the video description....

  • They are throwing flooting aparatus.

  • Who gives a shit about the other comments, it doesn't make any of the other useless bullshit anymore relevant you dumb turd. Your a intolerant piece of garbage and by the looks of your other crap probably a racist as well

  • When the first boat was picking up the passengers, what were they throwing into the water? Looked a little big to be shoes.

  • and that has what to do with this video??

there should be IQ and age restrictions on these sites

  • I agree lol

  • my dad works for con ed. been working there for 20 years.

  • tha pilot is very smart

  • Strumen90 actually went out of his way to come onto my youtube channel and tell me I was going to burn in hell. That's why I don't take organized religion/cults seriously. Do some research into where the story of the bible really came from, and you'll see its a rip off of a story a few hundred years before.

  • One word that describes this pilot= Pro

  • Not only did the plane's capt. make a fine landing, but the skippers of those ferrys did a fine job of navigating. they got all the people off the plane, and had no collisions with the plane or each other. damn fine job to all involved.

  • Really? I thought that the wings generated lift? Good thing you straightened that out for me.

  • haha.....keep your thoughts to yourself, its a free country.....thanks

  • i honestly don't care for religion much but you don't have to be a dick to people who do

  • It started with him being a dick to people who don't but w'/e I'm done with it

  • well all credits to the crew... the plane probably did not break up because of the agle and speed they hit the water at... And probably just as significant may be the fact that this is a relatively smaller plane.....

  • Or he just landed the plane well.

Which could be explained by the laws of physics.

  • Yes, that's why plane never crash.

  • Is this the first time an airliner with engines hung below the wings has ditched in water and not broken up on impact and sunk?

I thought the outcome of such water landings was normally grave because of the way in which the engines act like giant scoops, impacting the water and exerting sheering forces on the fuselage, tearing it apart..

  • The RIGHT engine actually broke off when they were landing water- as it scooped water.

I know another water safe crashlanding in Soviet Union in 60s or 70s, when the plane landed near StPetersbourg. The lucky moment was that he landed between pillares of the bridge that was in very early construction stages- in which case he would of crashed into bridge if it was complete.

  • hahah shut the fuck up

expalain why there is suffering, malnutrition, 3rd world countries, crime, murders?

why isnt god helping. if there is a fucking god i wanna talk to him, he aint doing a good job...
