Sure I can blaim him. I'm Dutch and I've managed to learn to speak with a British accent. Currently working on scouse. A lot of Dutch people use English slang in Dutch sentences. Like they have forgotten the Dutch word for things like "issue". It pisses me off and even more so when they mispronounce it.

Why would he have to work on it? You can understand him perfectly, he merely has a bit of an accent. Not to mention that there is no standard English accent. In the UK you'll find dozens of different accents and the same goes for north America. Why would it matter that someone speaks with a Dutch accent?

Who cares how it sounds? He was born in a different country so he will most likely sound different. Do you know how many political leaders need to bring a translator to meetings like this? At least Rutte knows how to speak English and knows what he means when he speaks it

Also, your accent isnt perfect either. It's either a mixture of different accents or the accent of a specific region. So it's either non-existent or the accent of a minority of English speakers.

We Dutch people care because if you learn to speak a language, atleast pronounce it correctly. We don't seem to have that much problems with German or French and even Swedish works so why are so many people having trouble with English? I know that a lot of people bring a translator but that depends on the country culture.

He doesnt look like an ass. Politicians dont give a fuck about the accent of other politicians because they understand that English isnt the only language on the planet. His accent mainly seems ridiculous to us because we're Dutch. Politicians are far more impressed with statistics and reports than they are with pronunciation "issues".

I dont have to hear your accent to know that it's either fabricated or only spoken by a minority. There are dozens of British accents. Dutch-English is just as much an accent as London-English. The pronunciation difference between Dutch-English and the English Obama speaks is about the same as the difference between London-English and Obama's English.

Fabricated as in it's not an actual British accent but an interpretation of multiple British accents. There are dozens of British accents, yours is either a combination of several of those, or the adaption of a single one. Either way, it's not an absolute pronunciation.

And as far as your accent goes, my entire point is, is that there isnt a perfect English language. There are so many different accents and dialects that there is no standard pronunciation for English.
