I don't know......most of the bass players I have ever met that DO use a pick, use a pick because they were previously lead or rhythm guitar players.......the sound while using a pick is to choppy and clicks......instead of a smooth tone like using your fingers...not bashing the band, just that piece of nylon/plastic in the bass players hand
